"I have lived at the Renaissance for over two years and am very satisfied with my Villa. I enjoy all the people and staff. The food is excellent."

"I found a place for my mother, and we like it very much. It is called Villa Camillus, and she is in their memory care. I checked around a bunch of them, and this was the best one I found. I like the looks of it -- it doesn't look like a nursing home. It is very homey, the care is very good, and they still have their dignity and are able to get up and walk around if they like in a controlled area, a safe environment. The food is good, and they have a lot of activities. It is just very nice. They have a person that comes in and does sing-along things, and they have where you can come as a family and reserve an area to be alone with your family in a living room setting. It is just very nice, and I like it very much. I would like them to do a little more toileting with her sometimes, but they have gotten better with that because she can be continent and can be incontinent. Other than that, everything is great. "

"My father was very unhappy, and I am very disappointed with Northwestern Healthcare. He doesn’t get the adequate care that he needs to. His daily regime that is ordered by the doctors isn’t followed. I have found him two days in a row in the same clothes. He is supposed to get eye care because he has had eye surgery and problems in the past which means warm compresses on his eyes once or twice a day and drops, and he has had problems which indicate they haven't done that. I warned them that he was someone with early onset to mid stage dementia, which has been clinically diagnosed. He needed to have an alarm on his bed and on his chair because he might be prone to wandering, and toward the end of July, he fell and knocked his head, and he had a tennis ball size knot on his head. Finally after that, they put an alarm on his bed and his chair. The follow sup that was insisted upon by the hospital like checking his blood, they refused to do, so I have had to make appointments and get him to a blood lab to see if his blood thinner needs to be changed. He had continual care checking on the status of his eye; I had to seek a private ophthalmologist. They put on events every once in a while, but there’s not any real space for them to be a real community. They’ve got a Veteran club; there’s all the trappings of it, but there’s no follow through. Some of the nurses are fantastic, and some of the aides are very good, but they are understaffed. High turnover. The food is good, but they could do more for what they charge. The specialist Brian is terrific. They could have more staff, and they could have more individualized care. Somebody who is on a dietary requirement should be looked into. There isn’t a component of dietary awareness because some things can unduly that are just to eat. You either are very consistent, or you don’t give it to him because they thin the blood. After meals, lemonade or fruit punch. There was an incident that required hospitalization in an emergency that the facility could have prevented because they were forewarned repeatedly ahead of time, and they chose to ignore it. "

"Aristocrat Berea is one of the few places in my area that take ventilator dependent patients. Unfortunately, Mom fell into that category. The building is old, it used to be a hospital. It was generally clean and smell-free. There are nice amenities such as a common room for activities, a beauty parlor and even a mini-store available to the residents. Even the ventilator dependent residents could use these facilities, as they had portable vents and the staff could take the patient down if they were well enough. My mom was, and she enjoyed those trips very much. The staff were for the most part pleasant and knowledgeable. They responded to requests in a reasonable amount of time. The respiratory staff were competent and helpful. Sometimes it seemed as they could have used an extra staff person or two on busy days, but cut-backs in health care are always present. The few complaints me or my mother had with a staff member were handled quickly and personally by management. Also, room issues such as getting her tv hooked up and getting her internet access were handled quickly as well. She never had any issues with being treated poorly, and her skin never broke down on the year she was there. The staff did a good job with turning her as needed, and keeping her clean. No place is perfect, but overall, Aristocrat Berea does well even with healthcare budget cuts across the nation. "

"I came across Berea by the social worker. This facility is not as fancy as the other facilities I've looked at so I?m giving this a 90% rate. They are really good and they are doing what they say. They assured me that my father would not be able get out and that?s important. The activities there falls a little short as far as the activity level, but then again I think it's because they are dealing with a little bit more dementia and Alzheimer?s patients. "

"Our experience with Joshua Tree is very good. It is very clean, very friendly, and home-like. The staff is very good. They do medications, but they are not skilled nurses nor do they have 24-hour care. My husband has care in the morning and in the evening. He is in a two-room apartment with a refrigerator and a microwave. They have a lot of amenities and activities, like trips and games. They keep them busy. "

"We went to Generations Senior Living of Berea, and they have more services as you get older. I thought it was fantastic, it's just too much for my mother at this time as far as the cost; she doesn't need all those services. The staff member was a very experienced, wonderful woman. Everyone seemed to know everybody, were very friendly, and it felt kind of like a family-type place. I liked that. The rooms were small and seemed cramped, but they were fine, and they didn't have many nice views. It was right in the middle of a lot of activity, like the library is right next door, there's a lake nearby where there ae a lot of events, they have concerts before COVID, it's close to a grocery store, and within walking distance to shops. I liked it because of that."

"My mother was a resident of O'Neill Healthcare for a while in skilled nursing. I considered also the memory care unit there, which was larger than where she is now. She had excellent care in skilled nursing. The facility was clean and the staff was friendly. Everything about the memory care unit seemed positive. She had a private room. She had physical therapy and occupational therapy there. They had other activities like movies and ice cream socials, but she never got involved with them."

"My mom is in Southern Hills Skilled Nursing & Rehab. It's been a very good experience, the staff is cooperative, informative, everything that they can do with this pandemic going on. We can see her, but you have to talk to her through windows and doors. They've been very cooperative, I highly recommend them. She likes the food, and she's enjoying it. It looks clean from the outside, it's very well kept. We had a problem with them at first with billing issues and applying for Medicaid, but once we got it worked out, it was fine."

"My Mom had rehab at this facility and the therapy and nursing care were excellent. We looked at several facilities in the area and we were happy with the quick turn around to get Mom home and able to walk up her front stairs after her stroke into her home. They even followed up and visited her a week later to see how she was coping at home. i would strongly recommend this facility! "

"Parkside Villa was stellar. My mother was there as a resident for a while. I would highly recommend it. The facility was well designed. It was very clean and didn't smell like urine. It was very well-staffed with doctors and nurses, like if you called them 21 times in a hour to go to the bathroom, they would respond every time. It was very cheery, nice, and pleasant. They offered three meals in a nice dining room, and the food was very good with snack and beverages available, too. The rooms were nice with very clean bathrooms and refrigerators for the residents. Their physical therapy was very good. The physical therapy people knew what they were doing. They also had an excellent activities director, and who planned things happening all day long every day. The activities director went to everybody's rooms to get them involved. They had great assistance and great activities and projects. "

"I toured Bowen Elderly Care and spoke with Stephanie who owns and runs the place and she's outstanding. She's been calling me, checking up on me, and has been very active since I went and spoke with her. She's outgoing and she genuinely cares. The place was very clean and very organized. All of the residents seemed to be happy. It also smelled good. It was well kept and the owners were very thoughtful. There were drinks and snacks available. They were out and available for anybody to reach up and grab."

"My mother was diagnosed with alzheimer's disease in early 2007. At that time, it was manageable. She moved into our home & we went about our daily lives as best we could. About a year later in 2008, mom started showing significant signs of dementia as well & the heartwrenching decision to place her in a care facility was made. We visited numerous facilities & the one that really stood out to us was Manor Care in North Olmsted, Ohio. The staff there really cares about the patients as if they're family members of their own. The facility is extremely organized, efficient, & provide excellent alzheimers care. They've really been a blessing to us. As my mom slips further into the disease, not only are they taking excellent care of her, the staff there has been a godsend to our family. We visit almost daily & it never ceases to amaze me how much they really do care. I'd recommend this facility to anyone in a similar position. "

"My brother is in Westlake Rehab & Nursing Center. He told me he liked the place. He doesn't like the food, but he likes everything else. For him, it's not that tasty, but it looks healthy. The place is very clean, and they take the residents out to activities which was great. They have several levels of care."
