"I toured Rose Senior Living - Avon and I like it a lot. It fulfills my needs. I'm looking for a place for one floor. I presently have a house that's two floors, and I don't utilize the second floor at all. So the Rose Facility is on one floor and it would satisfy my needs. The staff knew her stuff. She knew about the properties. She knew what I was looking for and took me to a place that I was interested in. It's a home. It's a villa. It's a one-story home that you rent. They have an exercise facility, and they have activities. They said they had different activities during the week for the residents, like bingo. I don't remember what else but they have activities for the residents."

"After my dad passed away, my mom moved into Independence Village and we couldn’t be happier with her experience. From the moment she arrived, the staff has been warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. It’s clear that they go above and beyond to make residents feel comfortable and at home. The food is fantastic, offering a great variety of delicious and nutritious meals. The services available provide her with everything she needs, from housekeeping to medical support, and there are always fun activities happening to keep her engaged and social. It means the world to my family and I to know that mom is not only safe but truly enjoying this new chapter of her life. Every time we visit, we feel welcomed and reassured that she is surrounded by a wonderful community. We are so grateful to the entire team at Avon Lake Independence Village for the care and kindness they show every day! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a supportive and vibrant senior living community."

"I toured Brookdale Westlake Village. Shannon was very friendly and accommodating. She went out of her way to support my aunt and me before and after the search process, even after the search process had concluded. It's a tight-knit community there. All of the people were very friendly and welcoming. The thing that my aunt specifically didn't like about Brookdale was that it was a big facility. I was looking for something more intimate. The facility was great itself. The rooms were nice. All the rooms are about 350 to 400 square feet. The other thing I liked about Brookdale is that they have rehabilitation facilities. They have different levels of care available within the same campus. I thought that was awesome. I liked the location. It was a centralized location. The facilities were clean. They all had great facilities and programs that the residents participated in. So, there is nothing bad to say about the facility. I had a good experience."

"My mother has moved into Arden Courts of Westlake. It was exclusively for dementia and Alzheimer's patients, and that is their main focus. They have activities, they have music, and they have arts. I haven't seen any of the physical activities, but they're very in tune with the people that are there. They seem to be very easily helping them because they're not arguing with them or anything. They somehow know how to speak their language. The cleanliness is very good, and it's kind of homey. My mother's room is a small plain room with an en suite bathroom. You can bring your own stuff and have some pictures of your family there. My mother has had issues where they called the ambulance and took her right away to the hospital. It was like a cellulitis issue. They had done taking care of her for that and then called me right away. The staff are very friendly, very helpful, and understanding. I haven't had any bad experiences with anybody. With regards to the condition of the place, I don't see any dirt around, I don't smell anything, and nothing's broken. I like them a lot. I've been in there for one of the activities when they had somebody in with a guitar and singing and having everybody sing with her and do songs like that. It was cute because a lot of the people were happy and were singing. It was fun. They are pricey. But I haven't had anybody tell me anything bad about it. Also, it's your mother, so you want to make sure she's taken care of and she's safe and everything, and that's what it sounds like they're doing. They are pricier than most of the other facilities I've looked at, but they educate themselves in depth on that disease."

"Our overall experience with Fairmont of Westlake was good. It's a nice place. The staff was great and the rooms were clean. The only thing I didn't like was they didn't have a sink in the kitchenette. Other than that, everything was good. They have a lot of activities. Some Irish dancers were coming in and they were getting ready to do that. They're also remodeling the place like putting new floors in. It was clean and nice. The lady that gave the tour was very helpful. Some residents asked something from her and she would stop and talk to them and explain what was going on."

"My wife has been at Vitalia Senior Residences at Westlake for less than a week now. I like everything about it. The facility is gorgeous. The room is big. When I walked in, I got a very good vibe on the whole place. And then I brought my kids over there and they got the same feeling, so we felt this is the place for her. The staff members are wonderful. They're great people. They're good people. The place is spotless. There are activities all the time. Something is going on all the time. Full schedule every day. They have music, and they have games with the folks. They keep them very engaged. So far, so good."

"I toured Vitalia Active Adult Community North Olmsted. The staff was very nice, very accommodating, and very informative. I liked the food choices and the way that meals were set up, where they could do kinds of things on their own, but it would be much better for someone younger than my friend, being that she was 95 and couldn't really see a lot and can't get mobile herself, and she's kind of dependence on an attendant. The facility was very clean. It wasn't as social and kind of homey because they have availability to go around as they please, and my friend wasn't able to do that. They have that open room concept and she does not like that."

"I toured Danbury North Ridgeville. Everybody was very friendly and welcoming. The facility was clean. They also had a lot of great programs and amenities for the patients. I was there around chow time, so I got to smell the food. I didn't have anything to eat there. I liked the facility a lot, but did not like the location. It was close to a highway, and that turned me off. Their courtyard was pretty open, and it was pretty windy back there. It was a nice courtyard, but I didn't like that it was next to the highway. Lisa and the team did a fantastic job showing around. They knew the answers to the questions I asked. They provided me with information about things that I didn't think to ask. All of the rooms come unfurnished, which is typical, but they were willing to work with us on the types of furniture that can go in there. They did not have in-suite showers in the room."

"I moved into the Bickford of Rocky River two weeks ago. I like the fact that the staff responds right away, and they're very friendly. I don't have anything bad to say about it. It has a lot of curb appeal. It's super clean. They have excellent food. The dining room is very nice. There is an exercise class. There's neighborhood walking, board games, puzzle time, bingo, and crafts. I'm satisfied at the moment."

"My aunt moved into Symphony at Olmsted Falls. The community is wonderful, and the people who work here are so very sweet and helpful throughout the entire process. They have helped me every step of the way. They have been very supportive and love having my aunt here. As I was walking by, the upkeep was excellent. They routinely clean up the facility throughout the day. The maintenance personnel here do a great job. When I came in, it smelled clean. The room is perfect for what my aunt needs. The en-suite bathroom is great. It's got a lot of room. They have a lot of great amenities. The courtyard is sweet. My aunt's room looks over the courtyard. They've got a bunny here, which is adorable, a pet bunny. They bring pets in, and kids come here and visit. It is a great community. The activities are not overwhelming. They're gently encouraged to participate if they want to; they don't have to if they don't want to. What I like is that they do a lot of live music and my aunt watched the game."

"I went to Lorain Estates Senior Living. It was very nice. It was clean. It seemed like it was running well. Everybody knew each other. The only downfall was that it's like an apartment. There are two bedrooms, it shares one front room, and I don't believe my friend would like that because she doesn't like people around her that much. But other than that, I would rate it good. And if she was a person who likes people, I would recommend her go on there. You have to bring your own bed and stuff like that, but the other apartment, outside the apartment you share with somebody else, so if they've already brought a couch, you don't bring a couch. I don't believe she can live with somebody else right now. The staff member was very nice. He calls every week to see how my friend is doing and he's very nice and polite. He gave me all the information I needed."

"I toured Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville. The rooms I was not thrilled with because it's just one giant open room. So I wasn't thrilled with the layout of the room, but I like the facility. It was very kind of high-end. They were just very friendly, very informative, and very inviting. They invited me to bring my friend in for lunch. I would have chosen that one. The only reason I did not choose that one is because they did not have the Medicaid slide after two years. Everything was wonderful. The only issue I had was I didn't believe my friend would like the open floor concept like everything is open. She likes somewhat enclosed bedrooms, the boxy type of rooms she likes rather than the open floor plan. It wasn't as social as the other facility. The people seem to be more on their own independently, like eating. There is no set time like they can go and come as they please. So there's not a set time for lunch or dinner or anything like that. It was basically just everything's very open and fluid. I would say for someone younger it would be much better, but for my friend's needs and the fact that she's 95, the other facility just seemed to meet our needs better."

"I was a resident of Vista Springs Greenbriar Village. It's an older building, but it's very well-kept. I was actively involved for the first time in several activities, and that is because of the friendliness of the residents. So, I got involved. We had ice cream specials on Friday. They brought in a manicurist to do the patient's nails and give them a facial massage. It wasn't a problem, but they sent me a meal I couldn't eat. The chef came to visit me in my room and asked me to give him a list of the food I could and could not eat. He made my meals special for me every single time until I left. The staff was just beautiful. I've been in a wheelchair for the last four years, but they got me walking. I'm walking better every day. The physical therapy department was good. The building was very clean. When I first moved there for a couple of months, I had a room to myself, and then they had to make some adjustments because I shared a room with another person."

"I had an in-person tour of Cardinal Court Assisted Living and Memory Care. I was very impressed with everything. They were very thorough in explaining everything to me and very patient. It was a very good tour. The place seemed quite pleasant. The staff explained how the different levels of service worked, which was all educational to me. They even kind of group people into different levels of decline in their dining room, so that was nice to know. The person who showed me around was very patient and helpful. The one room I looked at was for a couple. It may have been a little larger than the single-bedroom ones. I was impressed with how roomy it was. They said they would provide a small refrigerator and a microwave if we wanted. They had two or three courtyards that were enclosed. The building is set up in a circle. Every room has big windows, so it was bright outside, which was nice. They have a private room, and then they have an extra-large private suite. The other thing that kind of impressed me was how the community development director and another gentleman who was the maintenance director have been there since they opened. Several others who are there have been there for multiple years. I think that speaks well that people have stayed and that they are good and well-trained people. They have various activities for people to participate in. They don't leave the residents in their rooms alone because they need somebody to be aware of what they're doing."

"Vitalia North Royalton has everything you could possibly need. They have apartments and they have everything in there. It's not a huge kitchen, but yet a kitchen. Their menu is almost like a restaurant menu. If there's something on there that I know I can eat or whatever, that's no problem. I can or don't have to. Everybody was very friendly, the people that actually live there and the gentleman that took me on the tour. I was very impressed. The rooms seemed very pleasant. I got to meet some of the women that were there, and they're going to have bingo. It was really a nice place. It would be second on my list, except for the entry fee and what it costs per month. Compared to everything that you get there, if you had the money, that will be no problem, but I will never have that kind of money. It looked like the residents were very comfortable and very happy."

"My wife is now at Arden Courts of Parma. She is in the memory care unit, but she is not suffering from Alzheimer's or dementia or anything like that. It is something called bipolar. She has been there for six weeks now. They have lots of activities. There are two activities directors here that keep the residents busy. They have a very nice facility that has a rather large outdoor walking path that is secured by fencing all around the building. They have two cats and two dogs that have the freedom to roam inside the building itself. The building has four separate communities. They have a nice dining room area and a nice living room with a big screen TV. In the common areas outside these four little communities, they also have some sitting areas for people to gather together. It's all secured. The staff has got quite a longevity here. A lot of them have been here for many, many years. The caregivers have great compassion and they're very polite with all of the residents that I see here. The director has been here for several years. He is very, very caring and responsive to not only the residents but also to me. I've told him the good things that I see, and I told them some things that I don't like also, and he has addressed all the concerns that I have. The food is prepared well. It has a good taste and good flavor. Most of the time the portions seem normal and there seems to be a good variety of them. But they don't have soup every day. All the activities are excellent. "

"I cannot express enough how the creators of this brand new family run operation have gotten everything right at Evergreen Gardens. Having visited a dear family friend there multiple times now, I have say this incredible center checks all the boxes beginning with the all-important 5-1 caregiver to resident ratio — which is very important to me. I have also found the in-house, homemade and prepared food to be vastly superior to any facility I’ve ever visited or experienced. The individualized care that Evergreen Gardens delivers is clearly their calling card and what sets them apart. Each and every staffer is an experienced, pleasant, kind-hearted professional who obviously has a sincere dedication and devoted commitment to the individual residents. And the rooms are uniquely and individually designed, very spacious and beautifully appointed. This is truly a wonderful place and the amazing, caring people who created it obviously have a heart for compassionate, dedicated service to our loved ones. I certainly feel the love and sense of family there. I also clearly see and feel all the comforts of home as well as all the safety features and the personable caring/capable staffers. I’m incredibly happy and impressed. I can honestly and wholeheartedly offer my highest personal recommendation and assurances regarding Evergreen Gardens."

"The assisted living facility that I found for my client is called Mount Alverna Village. It is run by the Franciscan Sisters from Chicago. My client is a former Franciscan priest. The place is very relaxed and comfortable. I think the staff is very helpful and very interested in trying to do whatever they can do to make my client’s stay there as pleasant as possible. He seems to be thriving there. The room is physically adequate. The dining area is not terribly large, but it doesn’t need to be. It is sufficient for those that would be in the room at any one time. They have various activities, too. "
