"I toured Vitalia Senior Residences at Westlake for my mom. I would say it was good. I was doing the tour on a Saturday, and it doesn't appear that the regular staff does Saturday tours. My expectation would have been to be given some type of information about the different costs of the different units they have, and the price break down. They weren't able to provide that. I was only given a name of someone to call to get that information. In my mind the person didn't have the necessary information, or was unaware where to get it. It then causes me to have to do more follow up, work with them, and chase them down to get information that I should have been provided on the tour. The only person I interacted with was the person that took me on a tour. She was polite and nice. The condition of the place was nice. This one didn't quite have as many nice areas for the people, as opposed to the other community I saw. They were nicely decorated but not quite as upscale."

"The young lady that showed us around did a wonderful job. Kim was very helpful and knowledgeable, and I was very impressed with her. She made us feel like it would be a good place for my dad to live. We were very impressed with the facility as well. It just seemed like a very caring, comfortable, and warm place. It wasn't too large and it was cozy. The residents there looked happy and everybody was very friendly."

"My 93 year old dad has been a resident for about 3 months. It has been a wonderful transition from living on his own to becoming a member of the Independence Village family. He has met many people, loves the food, participates in many activities and is enjoying himself every day. I know he is safe and well taken care of. The staff is so caring and friendly….they know the residents by name and make a point of engaging him in a conversation. His apartment is open and spacious. I couldn’t be happier with our decision to make this his home."

"This facility was unable to help me. The person I spoke with was very helpful, but they did not have any beds available for my mom. She did offer the name of two other facilities that might take my mom."

"The staff I met at Rockport Retirement Community all seemed very kind, and the place seemed nice enough, but the facility was kind of run down. It's a converted hotel, so the hallways are long, which is hard for seniors with mobility issues. The staff were very pleasant, although we had some trouble coordinating through phone calls. It's in a suburban area, so it's close to shopping and medical care, and it's conveniently located close to our home."

"My mom is currently in Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville. It has been good. The first day that we were there when we dropped her off, I had to wait a little while, but with Covid and everything, I sort of understand that. I think it's going to be a good fit for her. They're very clean and very pleasant. It has taken us a while to get all the furniture in because I had to order a new chair for her, but they have been very helpful. My mom was involved in some activities the first day, but it is hard to know what's going on now. Yesterday, she wasn't just feeling her best, so I think she spent more time in her room. I think this is going to be a good place for her. It's a nice new facility. The people that I had worked with had been very pleasant. However, in a way, I feel I need to be with them a little longer before I can get a true picture. We haven't had that many experiences. Also, it's so hard to talk to my mom because the place that she was previously at hasn't returned her phone yet. I have to try and talk to her through the window, so it's just really frustrating. My mom has just gotten there, so she hasn't had the chance to do too many activities. They have a spa where they would take them and wash their hair, and she is definitely interested in that. Her room has a high ceiling and neutral paint. I thought it looked really pretty."

"I liked it a lot, but the apartments were too small. Everybody seemed very nice, and from what I saw, there would be no problem. However, after we saw the size of the rooms, we didn't go into any more detail. The location was good, and the amenities that they offered were good. The only complaint I have was the size of the apartments. Also, they allow pets, but the problem is come winter with the snow and everything, neither my husband nor I would be able to take the dog outside for a walk or even on a leash. They had no place that you could just let the dog out where it could be fenced in. "

"My mother moved in. It's been a good experience. She has a one-bedroom apartment with a sink but no kitchen. Everything looks good; that's why I chose it. My mom says she enjoys the food, and she has engaged in a few activities. She's artistic and crafty. The staff is very accommodating."

"We toured Cardinal Court Alzheimer's Special Care Center, but it's too far out for us to drive to, so we didn't go with that one. It was very nice, comfortable, and the memory care was handled very well. The pricing is a little bit outside our budget. They had a lot of nice outdoor facilities, they had a nice patio, and it looked real comfortable. The memory care has monitors, like motion detectors or something like that. Everything looked pretty good. They also have a nice program for activities and things like that for the residents. The staff we had no problems with, they were really friendly, and everybody came by. We saw the menu, and it looked like they have a wide range of food. It's served restaurant style so you can pick from a number of things."

"Vitalia Active Adult Community at North Royalton was beautiful. We toured the whole place and saw the assisted living and memory care. It was all brand new, and everyone was very helpful and very informative. We had one girl that gave us a tour, and two girls that sat down with us for a meeting for about an hour. They were all very knowledgeable and very friendly. The apartments looked like they would accommodate the residents nicely. Their dining area was also very nice."
