"I was able to be a visitor on several occasions to Hillside Acres Nursing Home facilities. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the building and the grounds. Besides looking clean, it also had a clean smell to it. I have been in others, that one you walked in there was a distinct aroma that I did not experience here.The staff was very friendly and made me feel welcome. I observed inter-reaction between staff and the residents and never say anything that I didn't like. I was there as the residents were getting ready to go to supper and everyone seemed eager to go to the dining area. I assumed that they enjoyed the food that was repaired for them. I liked the courtyards for the residents in the middle of the building, so that there were several entrances and exits to the courtyard, but no way to get out of the facility. The various residents had there area very personalized, even having plants and bird feeders hanging in the courtyard outside of the room windows. I was impressed in the facility and the staff members. "

"We visited The Willows at Willard. It's a very nice and clean place, and the people were very helpful and kind. I would 100 percent recommend them, and I would like to go there when I'm older. We looked at their independent living facility for my mom and we saw their nursing part too. It looked like a 4-star hotel, it's very nice. The staff that we met with were not pushy, they followed up but it wasn't like there was high pressure, and they answered any questions. They saw us two different times and took us through everything, they're very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information, and gave us ways where we can follow up and email them, which they answered promptly. They also offer house cleaning. It's all very nice and very well-run. They have what they call a clubhouse for independent living, and on Fridays, they have a cocktail hour where they have snacks, but not necessarily alcohol. Everybody that lived there could come to the community room where they have different activities like bingo, cooking classes, and different things. You can either be by yourself in your apartment or you can go down there and be with other people."

"There's nothing that I don't like about Orchard Grove. It's a good assisted living place. My sister is happy there. They are very attentive to their residents, and the care is just amazing. Her apartment is very nice. She's got enough room. It's all on one floor/one plan. It's very nice and very comfortable. She really likes it there. She says the food is home cooked every day. They play bingo and they have craft activities. They had a Memorial Day picnic for everybody, and the residents that could walk outside and the ones in wheelchairs, they took them outside. It's very nice. They do a lot."

"My parents will be moving into The Willows at Bellevue. The apartment we chose is very nice and like a condo. Everything's handicap-accessible and has a nice living area. They have daily activities and visiting churches, an exercise room, and a library. They have a lot of things that my mom really cares about. The staff seems very nice and explained everything very well. The facilities are very nice, elegant, tastefully decorated, and very easy for seniors to get around in. We were very impressed."

"Parkvue Community felt high class. It didn't feel as homey as the other place. It felt too ritzy. Everybody was just as nice. It was just as pretty. They had all the flowers and the green grass, and they had it all well-kept. We didn't take time to see an individual apartment. We were in a big hurry. They sat us down in this gigantic conference room to speak to the lady that was in charge of talking to us. She was very nice. It just felt a little too high class for me. We would have used it though because they would have accepted my friend's Medicaid. The facility was very well maintained. Everything was extremely nice. They were laying out individual place settings with napkins and silverware in the dining room. It didn't feel like a cafeteria at all. There wasn't anything that turned us away."

"The community feels like home...very inviting. My mother loves the food which is served like a fine dining restaurant. She is not one to participate in much but there are plenty to choose from. At any time of day you can find residents in the main living/dining rooms playing cards, doing puzzles or chair yoga or enjoying a game of trivia or a social hour. It is wonderful for those with memory/ dementia as it is a rectangle with courtyard in middle so no matter where they wonder they will come back to main area. The front door requires a code to enter. And all other doors are fire doors "

"The staff was wonderful. First, they respected and treated mom with exceptional care. Whether it was Nursing, Aides, Administration, Housekeeping, Dining room, or any other staff member they all cared about mom as a person. As much as possible they made this mom's home. Secondly, any questions or concerns we as family had, they made sure to find answers or address the issues. They never ignored us or mom with any concern we had. Were they perfect: no. But, this is the best staff and facility we have ever dealt with."

"When I visited the nursing home everyone was very kind and welcoming. The building looked and felt very clean and well maintained. Also in the rooms the nurses have very good bed side manor and checked on my grandmother numerous times while I was there. While I was there also many of the other residences at the time moved around the home and visited and gave the place a overall good feeling inside it. Another important thing was the fact that the staff at the home new the residences by name, they were not just names on a clipboard the nurses had personal connections with each of them and truly cared about them "

"My mother is currently at Kendal at Oberlin. It's fantastic. It's everything anybody could want in a community. The food is delicious and the portions are the right size. There's a nice waitstaff there in the dining room. They make food to order. It's excellent. The room is generous in size. The bathroom is large and permits a wheelchair to move around. There's an attentive staff that's there around the clock. It runs the gamut. They have painting classes, an active library and book club, and theater programs. Because it's in a college town, there are a lot of college faculty there who will give lectures. There are musical recitals and performances because there's a conservatory in Oberlin. It's an active community."

"This place was a god send for my brother. He could no longer live by himself and we found Dayspring. From the first visit with Erin we felt a comfort that our brother would fit in and be fine. He’s well taken care of. He gets fed well and to his Dr appointments. The folks at Dayspring look after him and he likes the staff."

"We have found Amherst Manor Assisted Living for my mother-in-law. She is already there. It's very nice. It's neat, and it's nicely landscaped outside. It seems to be well kept up. The staff is excellent. They have a new cook. I tried some food the other day, and it was very good. They have crafts and bingo, and they have a happy hour. The room that she's in is very large. There are two people in the room; it's a nice room. The facility is not perfect, but it is good. I had mashed potatoes, gravy, meatloaf, succotash, watermelon, juice, and water. My mother-in-law is not very active, but I noticed the lady in the room with her is happy with the activities. My mother-in-law is 91, and she doesn't do anything."

"So far our experience with Rutherford House is fine. Their staff is pleasant and capable, and the rooms are small. The layout of the place is nice, it's in the shape of a U so it's easily traversed. The food there is good and the dining room is laid out well. They have 2 meal options every day, and they also have things that are there all the time that you can choose from if you don't like what's served for the day. I have trusted them with my father and they took good care of him. They have lots of activities every day that he could attend. I would recommend this place highly to anyone who wants to go there."
