Ontario Estates Senior Living was a very nice facility. It was a one-floor facility, which I preferred. We took a tour of the rooms, and they were nice size. They didn't have any openings at the time I was there, but I liked their facility. The staff who gave the tour was very forthcoming about what they provided. The building is in very good shape and appears to be well taken care of. The only thing I didn't care for was that the door was not permanently locked. An alarm would sound if someone tried to exit it so they would be aware that someone was coming in and going out.

The community is situated near the western slopes of the Appalachian Foothills that form a pleasant, green valley offering excellent recreational opportunities through its many spring-fed lakes, wooded areas and rugged hills. The Carrousel District is home to the first hand-carved wooden carrousel built in the United States in 1932, as well as over 20 restored circa 1800 Victorian Italianate commercial buildings. Other attractions include the Johnny Appleseed Outdoor Historical Drama, Kingwood Center, Malabar Farm State Park, the Living Bible Museum, Renaissance Theatre and Mansfield Motorsports Speedway.
Accommodations and Services
Ontario Estates Senior Living is a Mansfield assisted living community offering accommodations for those who may require assistance in their daily living activities. It is staffed 24 hours a day with trained healthcare personnel and offers as much or as little care as a resident may want or need. In addition, Ontario Estates Senior Living has a licensed Health Care Director on call 24 hours a day.
Ontario Estates Senior Living features a full sprinkler system and each apartment is equipped with an emergency call system that may be used whenever the need arises. In addition, all exterior doors may be locked so that a secure environment can be maintained.
Each apartment includes all meals and basic utilities as part of the monthly fee. Also, residents enjoy daily activities, private dining room for family and guests, library and sitting areas, Internet bistro and activity room, housekeeping services and many other amenities. Other services include a beauty/barber shop for a nominal fee.
The emphasis on activities is a main thrust of the service offerings. Social interaction is a vital part of overall good health and Ontario Estates Senior Living is committed to offering residents a full range of social, recreational and spiritual activities from which to choose. Scheduled transportation on the community van allows all residents to take advantage of travel activities.

Our tour at Ontario Estates Senior Living was good. They provided the information we needed and gave us the tour. The accommodations appeared to be satisfactory. They had someone there singing, but I didn't attend any activity. I could just hear it from the office. They have an activity room, a reception center, and a dining room. I don't have experience with staying there at this time, but the facility is probably as good as any in the area. They are going through a remodeling program and after that update, I'm sure it will be nice. The facility will probably be a five rating, but some of the carpet was worn. It seemed to be very clean. So, cleanliness would be a five rating, but as far as the condition of facilities, I rate it a four and that's going to change. I was very impressed with the nurse who provided the assessment and the staff seemed to be very accommodating.

My mother is here, and it's been wonderful. They're very easy to get along with and answer any questions I want. She's a very social person and fit in well. She plays cards and bingo, and they usually have something going on in the afternoon, like a little program with singers and dancers. She gets her hair done, and we also pick her up and take her out to eat. It's been a good experience. She said their breakfasts are wonderful. A lot of people there are from Shelby, Ohio, which is where my mother is from. She knows quite a few people and I knew a bunch of them too, and that makes her feel more comfortable.
