"I visited and it looked liked this place is beautifully geared to Alzheimer's patients and my mom does not have Alzheimer's. The place was upbeat and bright. When I walked in and they had guitar playing and some people were dancing. It looked socializing and fun."

"We went to The Woodlands of Columbus, and the place was clean and bright. For their activities, they have social clubs and bingo. The people there seemed nice. "

"My mother-in-law has moved into The Ashford on Broad. We chose it because she was comfortable with that area and she wanted to be near where some of her friends could come and visit her and not have to go a long way. Her apartment features are beautiful. She has a balcony where she can go out and look out over the courtyard. She seems to enjoy the food. If they make something that she doesn't want to eat, she can order ahead before that lunch period, and then she can order something else if she looks at the menu. They have programs that are designed for inside, and then they go on bus trips to different places, on the van. They take them to shopping centers. They take them to little outings like ice cream places and stuff. The facility is very nice and very clean. For an independent, you get your room cleaned once a week. They take the trash out of your apartment every day. They take care of the independent and assisted living rooms well. They have a sunroom, they have a room where they do puzzles, they have a room for arts and crafts, they also have a room where they exercise, and they have a room where they can just relax and watch TV and have entertainment. I believe the price is within range of most of the centers. Some of them I took her to were kind of skyrocket. She didn't want to pay that much. She got in on a discount for independent living this time."

"Emeritus was my first choice to take my mother for professional care. Walking in I felt right at home as residents said 'hello" and smiled. I new this was the right home for my mother. The staff always got back to me if I had any questions or concerns. Being that I was 2 hours away this was of great comfort. As the acting parent now of my parent it was a feeling that I still can not put into words. Mother has passed recently, but I know she was carried for far beyond my abilities. Kim, Tony and Denise was my life line with mom. I can not say enough for all that they did for me and my mother. I was told it was time for hospice with love and gentleness. The entire staff and hospice worked in unison to provide my mother's care with dignity and gentleness. With the two teams of care givers I felt as if a huge load had been lifted from my shoulders. I was not alone. "

"The Executive Director Kim is one of the best humans on the planet. She oversaw our mother’s care. Our mother started in the villa & then went to a studio apartment after a hospitalization & a rehab. Once she improved, she wanted a little more space & then moved to a one bedroom apartment. All 3 residences were beautiful, new, clean & fresh. The entire staff was exceptional. Everyone was kind & attentive. Our mother always had quick responses if she needed anything. The food was delicious. The facility offered transportation for appointments. There are lots of fun activities for the residents to participate in. The interior & outside of the buildings & grounds are beautiful. Danbury is the ideal location due to proximity to medical appointments, shopping, restaurants & the hospital. We would choose Danbury again."

"The apartments offer a variety of floor plans which will meet anyone’s needs. Many of the support staff are quite helpful to the residents, while a few could use more training in the care that they provide. The menus include not only a daily selection but many other options for each meal. It is amazing to me that the dining room staff know the residents names and apartment numbers in a very short time as well as their preferences regarding drinks, desserts, etc. The number and type of activities offered are quite varied and should meet anyone’s needs."

"I am a friend of a past resident who recently passed away. I became involved when his son was searching for an assisted living facility. After an exhausting search, a miracle lead us to The Bickford. Upon entering the facility you feel right at home. The clean, spacious, well lighted entrance is very attractive. The amount of seating dispersed throughout the facility afforded to visitors and residents is well planned and comfortable. The variety of available rooms and sizes is diverse. The Bickford is ready, willing and able to modify some of the room arrangements to accommodate special needs. The staff is amazing and the administrative personnel is always available. The Bickford offers a diverse variety of activities for every type of resident. The staff makes sure you are reminded and assisted (if necessary) to attend activities of interest. The loving and compassionate care provided to my friend was amazing."

"The Village of Westerville was a nice place. I would live there. They have everything you need. They have transportation, and they take you to grocery stores if you don't have a car. They have little stores inside. They have a little mini-mall area actually. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and very nice, but I just kind of felt rushed. It was all centered around. The apartment seemed kind of small, but it had a huge, nice bathroom. The kitchen was nice. They have no food service at all."

"I had a friend in Carroll Place. It was really nice but kind of fancy. They had a lot of things going on, and she loved it there. They had exercise classes, outdoor activities, and took trips. They had a snack bar, a TV lounge, a beauty parlor, a barber shop, and an ice cream parlor. They had a very nice menu for their meals prepared by a chef and a very pretty dining room. "

"Clay Gardens Place was really nice. There were God-fearing people there. I liked it. The facility and the rooms were clean. They had activities such as church services. They were playing guitar and singing Christian hymns. When I got there they offered me a cup of coffee. That made an impression on me right there, like I was part of the family, and it was kind of family oriented too. Tracy went way beyond expectations of service. I was having a bad day that day, and I was getting ready to get an operation, and she took me to the hospital after I got done there. I was able to accomplish everything I needed to do that day. They were not only worried about my housing, but they also looked after my health, and that was a blessing from God. I don't mind giving them a five-star rating because they really did look out for me. The people there looked pretty healthy, so I'm sure they fed them pretty good. The people were excellent to me. The spirit there was very Godly. There was no negativity at all. There were no people complaining about how they were being treated or anything like that."

"My father is signed up to go in. It's stuck in the 1980s, but it's good. Everybody seemed happy. The rooms were fine, and he will just have a studio since he's blind. I've only met with the director. It's not up-to-date at all. I suggest that they update the decor."

"Brookdale Westerville was very nice. The apartment was beautiful. They do the laundry, the meals, and they help with bathing. The staff was great, too. I enjoyed speaking to all of them. They were all very friendly, nice and very informative."

"My mom moved into Kensington Place Retirement Community. It's beautiful. The upkeep seems to be top notch and the layout is great. The apartments are very spacious, so there's plenty of room for my mom and all her things. Everyone's been very friendly, helpful, cooperative, and pleasant. I witnessed the concert that they were having and there are also movie nights. The food looks delicious and my mom has been very happy with the selection. Of all the places we looked at, they were around the same price, but other places were smaller. I can't really say anything bad about it, it's been a wonderful experience so far."

"I liked Bickford of Bexley. I liked the activities and the surroundings, but my mother-in-law didn't want to be there because she noticed more people needed assistance than she did. I wouldn't put an independent person there. The staff was very informative and very nice. It was a nice place. They had a salon. It's near all the restaurants on Main Street. Your family could come and take you to eat out or you can eat there, so it was convenient."
