"Newark Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center was alright. My stepmother was there for over two years, and we were pleased. It was nice and clean, and the nurses and aides seemed to be very caring. At the time when my stepmother was there, the food was very poor, but that was a year ago. She had a little three-room apartment. I visited again in early June. "

"I have had several family members come to Arlingto for a short rehabilitation stay. They were all treated well and got great therapy. The activities are great and they have other games and such when there are no activities going on. The food is pretty good, and I love the little diner. The rehab rooms are also very nice. Oh and there is wifi everywhere you go."

"The staff was very helpful during this difficult transition. They know the decision to place someone in a long term care facility is a difficult one and they were (and still are) very understanding of all the questions that I had. I feel that I can speak with anyone on the staff and they will listen to my concerns and take the appropriate action. We don't know yet if my Dad will be here long term, but if he is, I know that he will be well taken care of. "

"Flint Ridge was very nice. They were clean, and they had a lot of functions for the residents. My mother was there, and she was treated very well. The staff people were very polite, very attentive, and helpful. The apartments were small, but they had everything my mother needed. "

"My husband is at Laurels of Heath. He has been there for a week. The care there is the best. They have a skilled care wing in this facility, so there are only 10 patients in the wing. And because my husband requires a full-time respiratory therapist, 24/7, which they have onsite. If you go to a normal nursing home, that's usually not available to you. It's extremely clean. The staff is all very experienced. Most of them have been there for over 15 years. And they're very caring. It's just been a great placement for my husband. When you walk in, it's extremely lovely. The lobby is lovely, and it's not crowded. There are no patients sitting all over the place. There's absolutely no odor anywhere in the facility. It is kept up impeccably. So when you walk in, it's very inviting. It's not overwhelming. The receptionist is easy to find. With this particular place, the first wing of the facility is the wing that handles skilled care. You're not walking through the whole facility to get to a wing for the people who are the most ill, and you don't see everything else going on. I just can't even tell you how nicely it's set up and how clean it is. The cleaning people, the nurses, and the aides, everyone is just wonderful. My husband is on a feeding tube, so he doesn't get any meals, and when I'm there, I always go out to lunch or breakfast because I stayed right in his room. His room is very, very large. I have a beautiful chair in there that tilts back and does everything. It has its own bathroom. I stayed in his room with him if I was down there for three days, four days, or two days. They have activities. They have speech therapists and occupational therapists. The activities lady came down to see me this week and we went through all of the things my husband likes so that she can specifically work directly with him. He loves music and he has his own music there. So I said just putting music on for him and letting him listen to some of his music or talking to him about motorcycles because he used to ride. So I gave her a lot of suggestions on what she could do. It's a one-on-one and it doesn't get better than that. I'm just very, very pleased with everything that goes on there. The administrators, the admissions, the receptionists, and all of the staff that care for my husband have just been lovely."

"Price Road Health and Rehabilitation Center is very good, and they treat you very well. If I had to stay somewhere, this is where I want to stay. The staff is very good. They don't have a whole lot right here, but what they have is very good. They've got bicycles and the bars, kinetic machines, and electronic ones, too. They've got very good people helping you. I have a shared room, and my roommate is fairly good. "

"I had a friend who went here. The facility was complete from independent living down to hospice. The apartments looked beautiful. They offered a wide range of medical care and the staff was good. They had a library, stage plays and performances. I would recommend this place to others. "

"My dad moved to Tuscany Gardens Nursing Homes. It's all really nice right now. It's clean, and it's very homey. We can put anything in it that we want. Most of the staff has been very friendly. They have a few activities like bingo and friendship time. They have a library and a barbershop. They also have cable and phone. The dining area is really nice. The food itself looks good, but they can't season a whole lot of it because they can't use salt and stuff. Their rates are just as good as everybody else's."

"I am staying at Johnstown Pointe, and it's pretty good. What I like best about it is my privacy. It's got 90 plus rooms, and I have a single bedroom. It has a bathroom and a walk-in shower with a bench seat. They have a cleaning crew here five days a week. They empty trash, sweep, and mop. The floors are wood, so it makes it pretty easy to clean up. Sometimes the food is very good, and sometimes I don't like it because I'm not fond of foreign types of dishes. Sometimes it's spicy for me, or they put too much breading on the chicken, and things like that. The staff members are pretty nice. They take care of you pretty well. They have regular nurses, and they monitor the blood sugar and things like that. They're very considerate and kind. They give you food regularly, and they're pretty timely. I think there are some things they could improve. But overall, it's a pretty good place because it is pretty clean. They did a good job during COVID. They had a good activities director. Every room has a TV. They could do better with their phone system."

"My grandfather was extremely unhappy at Northview, eventually he was moved to a new senior living center. They seemed to be understaffed, the building seemed nice enough from the outside but maintenance could have been better kept up, but I believe the biggest problem was the understaffing. Waiting for assistance was not a pleasant experience, and as much as both the resident and government pays to the facility I found the meals, rooms, and activities to be quite subpar from what my grandfather or his family expected. Employees of the facility smoke at the front of the property by the roadfront, something else I found extremely distasteful for a healthcare operation. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful, though as previously stated overworked and understaffed. Would I recommend this facility to others? Probably not, we found grandfather a much better facility that was not much further away, better care and a better overall living environment than Northview. "

"I'm in the skilled nursing care at Smith's Mill Health Campus, but they also have just assisted living. The experience has been very good. They seem to be on top of all of the recommendations from the hospital. They seem to want to have a plan in place very quickly. I saw physical therapy this morning and we've already made a little bit of progress from yesterday in the hospital. There seems to be a coordinated idea of the path that I'm going to be taking and I think the staff is very supportive. The room I'm in is a private room. It has a bath, a toilet, and a small roll-in shower. There is Wi-Fi in the room, which is nice, and they provide a flat-screen TV. There is a large chair, a small armoire, and several bureaus with drawers underneath for storage. The food is excellent, I can't say enough about the dietary aspect. I'm not ambulatory so I'm not able to go down the dining area but that is one of our goals, to get me to the dining area as quickly as possible, possibly within the next couple of days. I would not be ambulatory to do that. I would have to be taken in a wheelchair or whatever. Like all facilities, I think they could have more robust staffing but that's just because the people are not out there. It's not anything that they're doing or not doing. I guess the services that they're able to provide are still excellent."

"Wesley Ridge is very good. I like it. However, at the time, my husband wasn't really ready to make a decision on the assisted living and we didn't want to buy-in on the independent living. Of all, the communities, I think Wesley Ridge is the best. It's very well done. They have a rehab place, and they just built a swimming pool. They have different activities during the day. Their activities are very good. Their food is very good. The people are very friendly. The staff are very friendly and very nice, too."

"My uncle was in this nursing home after he left the hospital. All the staff we encountered were very kind, lots of smiles. We only had a few concerns come up during the stay, but they were nothing serious and they were quickly addressed by management. The rooms are small, but the kindness of the workers make up for it. My uncle didn't really want to participate in therapy, but the therapists were awesome and figured out ways to get him to work with them. He didn't care for the food, but he was always a picky eater. The food looked fine to me. The CNA's were really good about offering something different if he didn't like what was served. He didn't go to any activities, but that was him choosing not to go, it was nothing against the department. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. "

"My father was in the rehabilitation center at New Albany Gardens for six weeks. The staff was very good. There were two gentlemen that would take him for therapy that my father really liked. They were so thoughtful and kind to him. My father did not eat in the dining room as the food was always brought to his room, but he liked the food and said it was good. The apartments at the assisted living were very pleasant. They had an activities sheet and a bus that would take them shopping on various days of the month. My father’s stay was very pleasant. He was happy and would go back again if he had to. I felt that I was fortunate to have my father have a positive experience with care there. "

"The third shift staff is very unprofessional and does nothing for the patients. A family member laid in bed for 5 hours and was not checked on once. She then pushed her call button and two hrs later, a first shift aid that had just arrived for work, came in her room and helped her. She was soaked and had urinated and had to lay in it for hours. This happened 10/13/23. This is unacceptable and unbelievable! Her entire experience has been like this. This Facility is not up to operating standards. I would not recommend sending any loved ones here. "
