"I think Sterling House is nice. They had a bedroom, a big closet, a little sitting area, and kitchen. It made it kind of homey, and it was nice. We did see many people walking in the hallway when we had the tour. We met two people and they were very nice. "

"Mansfield Place continues to be a wonderful home for my father! The facility is decorated just like your own home, so comfortable when you walk in. There is a locked front door and you must be coded in/out by a staff member for the safety of all! Smiling friendly faces and hellos from staff and residents greet you! The caring staff look out for the health and wellness of the residents, treating them with love like their own parent or grandparent. They are so patient, taking time to help each one with their specific level of needs and pay attention to the necessary details. Residents enjoy a variety of activities and entertainment; daily, weekly, monthly, as well as family activities. All the holidays are celebrated with decorations and a lot of enthusiasm! Each apartment has a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave, full bathroom with shower, large walk-in closet and with plenty of room for your loved one’s furniture and personal things. There is laundry service, housekeeping, three healthy meals served daily in the dining room plus snacks, a beauty shop weekly, maintenance person on staff as needed, foot doctor regularly, therapy is available in house with doctor’s orders, lovely garden room and outside enclosed garden/patio area. A truly amazing place, they go above and beyond, making you feel like one big family! "

"The Waterford at Mansfield is a quite lovely facility. The grounds are well kept. The staff was very nice and accommodating. For the short time that I was there, when I entered the facility they were always very nice and accommodating. They took me to a room and that was a lovely room. "

"It is very clean. They seem to have a lot of activities. They try to involve people from memory care in some of the activities with the other members. My husband and I go to this place and play bridge with some of the women who are more with it. One of them is from independent living and the other one is from assisted living, and I know the woman who is in independent living, her husband is in memory care. So I have some familiarity with all of it. I see buses there at times because I know they take the memory care people on like little field trips. They have church services. They have different denominations. They will have a priest or reverend come in at times. So they try to keep them as involved with their faith life as they can. One of the staff is high energy. She knows everybody by their first name. She knows what kind of things they like to do. They have a little happy hour, and she knows what each one likes to drink. She's awesome."

"Ontario Estates Senior Living was a very nice facility. It was a one-floor facility, which I preferred. We took a tour of the rooms, and they were nice size. They didn't have any openings at the time I was there, but I liked their facility. The staff who gave the tour was very forthcoming about what they provided. The building is in very good shape and appears to be well taken care of. The only thing I didn't care for was that the door was not permanently locked. An alarm would sound if someone tried to exit it so they would be aware that someone was coming in and going out."

"I toured The Avalon of New Albany. I liked everything about it. The people were great. They were very informative and very nice, and they walked me around everywhere. They told me all the things that I didn't know I needed to look for. The facility itself was beautiful. They had a special art room, a chapel, and a lounge area downstairs which looked like a very nice cafe place. Once a month, they have a podiatrist that comes to the facility. There was a courtyard and a screened-in patio. There was a beauty and barbershop. They had a restaurant-style dining area and a couple of different locations throughout the building that are larger lounge areas with little kitchens where you could have all your family come for big dinners. They had a popcorn machine, and they do happy hour once a week. They gave us muffins for snacks and it was very good. They had a lot of things written on a menu board that you could order. And if it wasn't on that day's menu, you could order something, particularly that you like. "

"My experience with Danbury in Westerville has been exceptional. As a facility entrusted with the care of my aging parents, Danbury has consistently exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The facility is impeccably clean and well-kept. From the moment you step inside, you can immediately sense the dedication to maintaining a comfortable and hygienic environment for residents. I believe this type of attention to detail speaks volumes about their overall commitment to quality. What truly distinguishes Danbury, however, is its staff. In all my interactions, from administrative personnel to caregivers, I have encountered individuals who are not only highly professional but also genuinely caring. Their compassion and dedication to their work are evident in the way they treat residents and family members alike. My parents are in memory care, and I am grateful for the opportunities they have to engage in the 5 to 6 activities offered daily. These activities are designed especially for memory care residents and include things like sing-alongs, pet therapy, storytelling, and chair exercise. They have even taken 'field trips' which allow residents to get out and experience the beautiful parks nearby. Another standout feature of Danbury is their food services. The meals provided are nutritious and, according to my mother, delicious, thus ensuring residents are well-nourished and satisfied. Most importantly, the nursing and caregiving staff at Danbury approach their work with a profound sense of respect and dignity, which has been incredibly reassuring for my family. Knowing that my parents are safe and in such capable and compassionate hands brings us great peace of mind."

"My mom is in Country Club Rehabilitation Campus at Mt. Vernon. It's a nice facility. The staff is very friendly. My mom's room is a nice, fairly large room. I have no issues with the maintenance. Its upkeep seems to be fine. My mom likes the food and the meals are large."

"My cousin was in The Ohio Eastern Star Home for rehab. They have this nice facility. The people were all friendly and willing to help. They care about their residents. The food I think was very good, and my cousin did okay with the food. Their family could eat with them. In the section that she was in, they had a bird cage with nice birds for the people to enjoy. All I saw was the rehab center for exercising. They have different buildings where residents can be. In the dining area, there was a puzzle that anybody could work on."

"My mom moved in, and it's been positive. The residents seem happy. It's clean. Everybody's been friendly. She missed lunch or dinner one day, and they didn't send it back, so they warmed it up. She thought she was leaving and said she wasn't eating. It's the perfect size for one person. She's got a queen-sized bed, a recliner, a dresser, a TV stand, and a nice closet. There are scratches on the doors, but nobody painted them, and her bathroom light doesn't work. They have a garden and a salon. The dining area in the memory care unit is separated, but it's nice."

"Bennington Glen is an assisted living facility located approximately half an hour north of Columbus Ohio. It is situated on a small hill with a very pleasant view overlooking a pond and large fields. There is on-site therapy and rehabilitation equipment with friendly and helpful staff. The whole facility is on one floor which is good for ease of access in a wheelchair or with a walker. All of the staff I had interactions with, from the nurses to the assistants, were very helpful and intelligent. More importantly, the residents I spoke with all had positive things to say about the facility and the staff, which is not always the case for these facilities.I have visited many other assisted living facilities over the years and in my experience with I was very surprised with the level of rapport the staff and residents have here. I got the feeling that the staff genuinely cares for their residents. In my opinion Bennington Glen is a very fine assisted living facility in central Ohio and I would have no qualms about having a family member choose it for their recovery. Easily a 5 star facility. "

"My grandfather was extremely unhappy at Northview, eventually he was moved to a new senior living center. They seemed to be understaffed, the building seemed nice enough from the outside but maintenance could have been better kept up, but I believe the biggest problem was the understaffing. Waiting for assistance was not a pleasant experience, and as much as both the resident and government pays to the facility I found the meals, rooms, and activities to be quite subpar from what my grandfather or his family expected. Employees of the facility smoke at the front of the property by the roadfront, something else I found extremely distasteful for a healthcare operation. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful, though as previously stated overworked and understaffed. Would I recommend this facility to others? Probably not, we found grandfather a much better facility that was not much further away, better care and a better overall living environment than Northview. "

"My mom has lived at the Chestnut House since April 2015 and enjoys it very much. She likes the staff, residents, activities, sermons on Sundays and the food is delicious! As a family member I appreciate the loving care mom receives from every staff member. The building is always clean and homey feeling, not institutional feeling. The residents are always FIRST!!!!! This has been one of the best choices for mom, we know she is happy, safe and has 24 hour medical care. It’s real peace of mind for my sisters and I. Thank you- Chestnut House Staff"

"The staff at Sharonbrooke is wonderful and very caring. They go out of their way to make sure that both my parents participate in activities daily. The food has been amazing. The place is very clean. They have a beauty salon (which both my parents have used and really enjoy), and a really nice nail salon where my mom has gotten manicures. They also have a happy hour three times a week where everyone can gather, have light snacks, and drink some beer and wine. My parents really love that. They've met a lot of nice people by going to the happy hour. They play euchre and a golf card game a couple of times a week with other couples, too. So, they have been fantastic."

"He’s all moved in here. That’s the only one I visited because I knew I wanted continuing care, and it’s just a 100 mile radius from me. It is fantastic. It is a continuing care retirement center. You have to enter while living independently, and then you never have to leave. The staff is incredible. There’s nothing that I’ve ever seen like anywhere. It’s very extensive, just a wonderful community. The food is fantastic. They have a restaurant. They have lots of activities. They have an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, an art studio, and they bring in speaker and concerts, church activities, and various groups. "

"We've seen both the assisted living and independent living of Wedgewood Estates in Mansfield. It was very nice and had a very nice atmosphere. It's the most expensive place that we looked at, and it has a lot of rules right now because of COVID. They haven't lifted restrictions, so they have limited visitation. I would have to see them again and talk to them again before I could take my mom there; the visiting hours are pretty strict now. They have a chapel. They have an ice cream parlor that is made up to look like the 60s. They talked about a lot of different activities that they do. I only met one lady, and she was very friendly and very knowledgeable. The meals are included in the rent. The rooms have little kitchenettes. You can get a 1-bedroom, a studio, or a 2-bedroom. That's for the assisted living. The ones in independent living are 2-bedrooms only. They don't have just a 1-bedroom. They all have a little kitchenette in them and a utility closet."

"Primrose Retirement is very nice. They have huge apartments although the parking is kind of away from your apartment. The staff is great. But they have no swimming pool. We were looking for a place where we can work out, and there was nothing like that there. All you can do is just sit around. There was no place to work out and play cards. It's a nice spacious apartment living. The dining room is nice and spacious. "
