"Bennington Glen is an assisted living facility located approximately half an hour north of Columbus Ohio. It is situated on a small hill with a very pleasant view overlooking a pond and large fields.There is on-site therapy and rehabilitation equipment with friendly and helpful staff. The whole facility is on one floor which is good for ease of access in a wheelchair or with a walker. All of the staff I had interactions with, from the nurses to the assistants, were very helpful and intelligent. More importantly, the residents I spoke with all had positive things to say about the facility and the staff, which is not always the case for these facilities.I have visited many other assisted living facilities over the years and in my experience with I was very surprised with the level of rapport the staff and residents have here. I got the feeling that the staff genuinely cares for their residents.In my opinion Bennington Glen is a very fine assisted living facility in central Ohio and I would have no qualms about having a family member choose it for their recovery. Easily a 5 star facility. "

"My grandfather was extremely unhappy at Northview, eventually he was moved to a new senior living center. They seemed to be understaffed, the building seemed nice enough from the outside but maintenance could have been better kept up, but I believe the biggest problem was the understaffing. Waiting for assistance was not a pleasant experience, and as much as both the resident and government pays to the facility I found the meals, rooms, and activities to be quite subpar from what my grandfather or his family expected. Employees of the facility smoke at the front of the property by the roadfront, something else I found extremely distasteful for a healthcare operation. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful, though as previously stated overworked and understaffed. Would I recommend this facility to others? Probably not, we found grandfather a much better facility that was not much further away, better care and a better overall living environment than Northview. "

"SharonBrooke is one of the places we looked at that we liked, and this was by far the closest to home. So I thought I'd be able to spend more time there when my wife moves in. They have a dedicated wing for memory care. The place was extremely clean and well staffed. The food service looked good. They were all very welcoming and very helpful, and were able to answer all the questions that I asked."

"My friend is at the memory care of The Inn at Walnut Trail. It's a very nice setup with gardens on the outside, it's very clean, it's very new and very pretty. The rooms are very new, well-kept, and newly painted. The staffs were very friendly, they each came and introduced themselves to her and who will be taking care of her, so she had an idea of who would be who. I thought that was very nice. They're also very nice to her so I didn't have any problems with who's going to be working with her. They had all kinds of activities, they do rumba, and different mind games like soduko, word search, and crosswords. There are also exercises for them, dancing, they have different people come in like singers, they take them out on field trips, and they go out to eat. They have a variety of different things. They have their own chefs there, the food is done three times a day. Everyone comes out of their room to eat, they don't stay in their rooms. They're kept busy during the day and they only go back to their rooms for rest periods and to sleep. So they're keeping them active all day. The food always smells wonderful when you go in. I like that it always smelled nice, clean, and fresh in there."

"He’s all moved in here. That’s the only one I visited because I knew I wanted continuing care, and it’s just a 100 mile radius from me. It is fantastic. It is a continuing care retirement center. You have to enter while living independently, and then you never have to leave. The staff is incredible. There’s nothing that I’ve ever seen like anywhere. It’s very extensive, just a wonderful community. The food is fantastic. They have a restaurant. They have lots of activities. They have an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, an art studio, and they bring in speaker and concerts, church activities, and various groups. "

"My sister-in-law moved into Wedgewood Estates. She's very happy there and we feel that her needs are very well met. The grounds and the facility itself are very attractive. The layout is kind of like in quadrants. There's a sitting area with furniture, two counters and several chairs, and then the rooms open onto that. They have their own room and then they can gather into this sitting/living room area that's very homey. They can gather there to play games or puzzles or wait for a meal. They have people come in and give lectures. Someone comes in to play the piano. They have book reviews and bible studies. They have very adequate staff, and they have people who check on the residents every two hours. They come in to empty the wastebasket, to gather the laundry, and to check on your heat or your room temperature. They have reasons why they come in, so the residents don't feel like they're checking on them. The residents feel like they're coming in to give them a service."

"I toured Primrose Retirement Community of Mansfield. It was very good. They have a very nice facility. It's probably one of the newer facilities. It's very well taken care of. The eating area was quite grand. You could order off a menu that type of thing. But they were multiple floors. Still, it was a very nice place. They had a refrigerator in the room, and I think that was it. Of course, they provide three meals a day, so other than a refrigerator, I don't know that you would need anything in your room. The staff who gave the tour was very informative, too."

"My father's at The Chapel Grove Inn. I chose it because it's close to where I live and I really like the facility. I visit every day, and I have not found him not to be taken care of well. They make sure he gets down to his meals, and they allow visitors pretty much any time. They let me take him out when I want to. The price is pretty much in line with everyone else. "

"My mother has moved into Feridean Commons. It's clean. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have a chef that prepares meals, and the meals are not fussy and elegant. I know that they use a lot of fresh produce. They make food that is creative, but not like way out there. I like the food, the staff, and the cleanliness of the facility. She has hospice and the same hospice team can be used at Feridean. The staff has been everything that we've wanted them to be. When I look at the activities calendar, it looks like it has what everybody else has. There are puzzles, games, music, and things. I was in the other day and I saw somebody in there playing the guitar, giving like a mini-concert, and the room was full. There's painting, and there are lots of trips."

"My grandmother is moving into this facility soon. So far, the nursing staff and administration have been wonderfully accommodating and seem genuinely interested in making sure my grandma will be comfortable and well-taken care of. I have also heard wonderful reviews from residents and family members of residents."
