Assisted Living Communities in New Albany, OH

"I was very impressed. It was all brick, the design and layout was campus type, and it was very nice. I did not have the opportunity to go into the rooms. I just saw two on my own through the place. The staff was very friendly. It was a very nice place, and I'm quite impressed by it. The dining area was quite impressive. Its demeanor was quite inviting. The general appearance as you are driving up is very impressive. It just radiates quality living. The inside was very warm. The décor was very warm, and everything was laid out very well. The workout facility is very well structured. If they did that for the workout facility, you have to say they did that for the rooms. The dining room is very nice, and I watched the people in there. They seem to be very pleased. It was just a nice décor. I just wanted to get a feel if there was anything in there that was appealing to me, and Friendship Village met my expectations. "

"As far as the rooms, they were clean and adequate as far as a bed. This was a double room that I saw with two twin beds, and it is nothing like what my parents are used to, so it would be a downsize from their home certainly. Brookdale Westerville looked like a remodeled facility. Their entrance way was pleasant, so I would give it a four for its appearance. "

"We visited Cherry Blossom and I wish now we would have taken that step with them instead of the one we took with my sister's current facility, because Cherry Blossom is a one-story building. We could have possibly looked through the window at her and said hello. My sister thinks we just left her because we can't visit her in her current facility. They showed us rooms when we visited. The rooms were great. The whole complex was just as good as I thought in another facility, and I expected a little bit better I think. We looked at the assisted living because my sister is well enough that she doesn't have to go into memory care. That's what everybody thinks, that she's well enough not to go to memory care, so that's why she didn't actually go in there. We've seen the rooms. They were very nice. We've also seen the dining room, the bistro, the exercise room, and the salon."

"The staff of The Woodlands of Columbus was a very friendly place. It was very clean and offered good services. The apartments were very nicely planned. When a new person moves in, they made sure that it's all spotless and updated. They have an activity director that keeps the residents active. There is a beauty salon and on site therapy. I saw them playing cards and some were in the common room watching television and interacting with each other, while another group was out walking. The person who assisted us has been very helpful, as we are planning to move my aunt in."

"My mother-in-law has moved into The Ashford on Broad. We chose it because she was comfortable with that area and she wanted to be near where some of her friends could come and visit her and not have to go a long way. Her apartment features are beautiful. She has a balcony where she can go out and look out over the courtyard. She seems to enjoy the food. If they make something that she doesn't want to eat, she can order ahead before that lunch period, and then she can order something else if she looks at the menu. They have programs that are designed for inside, and then they go on bus trips to different places, on the van. They take them to shopping centers. They take them to little outings like ice cream places and stuff. The facility is very nice and very clean. For an independent, you get your room cleaned once a week. They take the trash out of your apartment every day. They take care of the independent and assisted living rooms well. They have a sunroom, they have a room where they do puzzles, they have a room for arts and crafts, they also have a room where they exercise, and they have a room where they can just relax and watch TV and have entertainment. I believe the price is within range of most of the centers. Some of them I took her to were kind of skyrocket. She didn't want to pay that much. She got in on a discount for independent living this time."

"The staff were very friendly, very clean. The apartments that I've seen were standard size. They have a one bedroom apartment. The place is located in an area of the city that is somewhat declining and it was too far away from my relatives. I think they had exercise, games, and movies. "

"I went to Alpine House of Columbus. It was a great experience. The staff was lovely. The place was lovely. I liked everything that I heard. It was a nice facility. I liked the stairway and they had an elevator, too, so that's a plus. They offer the laundry and help you with your medicine, and they do housecleaning. As far as I could see, everything was nice."

"I liked Bickford of Bexley. I liked the activities and the surroundings, but my mother-in-law didn't want to be there because she noticed more people needed assistance than she did. I wouldn't put an independent person there. The staff was very informative and very nice. It was a nice place. They had a salon. It's near all the restaurants on Main Street. Your family could come and take you to eat out or you can eat there, so it was convenient."

"The atmosphere was nice. The staff was very outgoing and friendly. The rooms were clean and spacious. There were several activity areas; they have games, crafts, and trivia. "

"We chose Paramount Senior Living at Polaris because they had the medical attention they could give to my dad and they've been very polite. The meals taste good and there was plenty of it. They have a lot of activities, too. They have a courtyard and inside the building, they've got a nice dining area and a nice craft area. Their rooms were large for all the people that were there."

"Creekside at the Village is quite luxurious, comfortable, and "home like". But, what is special and not easy to come by is the quality of the staff - their kindness and professionalism. It is very convenient that Creekside at the Village is located next door to the Jewish Community Center, which offers endless activities. I am very much at home living here and proud that our community has such a residence."

"The lady who did the tour at The Avalon of Lewis Center was good to follow up later with me. She reached out to me several times and they even brought something by my door and left a little gift, a book, on how to pick communities, and things like that. She also followed up with me through email and phone calls multiple times. I thought the tour was great. I liked the facility. It was very clean. It smelled good and it was well-maintained. It was the closest to where we lived so I was considering it during the time that I was looking for my dad."

"I think we've been to The Bristol a few times already. The physical appearance was fantastic, especially the fourth floor was looking out over to the back and a large patio where you can see the woods. It was just beautiful and the apartments were reasonably sized. The staff was very cooperative. They kept in touch with us but didn't bother us. They've been very attentive but not pushy. We also tried the food and we enjoyed it. They had a movie theater and an exercise area. It was very comfortable and several people were very nice enough to let us go into their apartments, and they're very generous in sharing their thoughts. They all had a very positive attitude."
