Assisted Living Communities in Westerville, OH

"We have chosen Bickford of Worthington for my dad. My dad knows someone who already lives there. I've met with the folks there, and I liked all the staff. The assisted living area has a bedroom, a living room, and a small kitchenette. They have several activities. They have something going on every day. They do have a beauty shop, a barbershop, a community meeting area, a library, a dining room, a garden area, an outside area, a nice front porch area where residents can sit out. The staff was very friendly. All of the staff members that I saw greeted me and said hello."

"Rooms are clean and spacious, staff is caring and nurturing, activities are resident centered and my loved one is provided with top notch medical care."

"Sage Park Memory Care & Transitional Assisted Living was a five because of the level of care that they give, a very clean environment, and it felt very safe. The tour and the amenities that they have were really nice. It looks like they were very caring and very helpful information-wise. Everybody spoke when I was there. The common areas were really nice and clean. The rooms were very nice, clean, and big. I did like the fact that they had private rooms. The shared rooms weren't bad, but pricing is a little high for me."

"We toured the assisted living section, and it was excellent. The community is very welcoming. The person who gave the tour was very thorough and very good at what she does. She gave a very warm feeling about the place. The room was very good, and the bathroom was very large. The activities were excellent. They have a wide variety, and they were very appealing."

"I visited StoryPoint Gahanna. I totally loved the property, specifically the little cottages, and they only had eight. The only downside of that was that they are set aside from the main building, which I loved, but in the winter they have to either drive over to the main building or walk, and they go over a little bridge. The only thing is you would be out in the elements. They should have a walkway that is an overhang or closed in for those people that live in those little cottages to get over to the main building for meals, for their exercise group, and all that. The cottages are darling. They've got attached garages, but the other garages are separate. You would have to walk to your garage and get your car, so you would be out in the elements. That was the only downfall that I saw. The property was clean and very well kept. It's beautiful. They have a continental breakfast, which I probably would skip. The staff member during the tour was fabulous. Everybody was very helpful. The receptionist was very helpful. There's independent on one side of the building and assisted on the other, but he explained that you could stay in independent living as long as possible. They could have people come in and help. If I had surgery and I needed help taking a shower or something like that, they will assist with that to keep you in independent living as long as possible. I did not see an apartment because they are at 100 percent full capacity, so that tells you something right there. They are totally full. They have a waiting list."

"StoryPoint Central has been such an amazing place for our mother who is in the Memory Care wing. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is top notch and very eager to help the residents. Mom has flourished under their care. While at home, Mom was struggling with getting her medication right and becoming malnourished. Since becoming a resident, she is back to a normal weight and we have seen a remarkable change in her health. All of this is due to the hard work of the Administration and staff at StoryPoint. The family couldn’t be happier!"

"I toured The Avalon of New Albany. I liked everything about it. The people were great. They were very informative and very nice, and they walked me around everywhere. They told me all the things that I didn't know I needed to look for. The facility itself was beautiful. They had a special art room, a chapel, and a lounge area downstairs which looked like a very nice cafe place. Once a month, they have a podiatrist that comes to the facility. There was a courtyard and a screened-in patio. There was a beauty and barbershop. They had a restaurant-style dining area and a couple of different locations throughout the building that are larger lounge areas with little kitchens where you could have all your family come for big dinners. They had a popcorn machine, and they do happy hour once a week. They gave us muffins for snacks and it was very good. They had a lot of things written on a menu board that you could order. And if it wasn't on that day's menu, you could order something, particularly that you like. "

"My mom is in The Inn At Olentangy Trail. It is a beautiful facility. My main complaint is that I do not feel they have enough aides. The people are very nice. They do the best they can. "

"I live here at Danbury Columbus. I am independent living and my husband is assisted living. The place is really lovely. I have a lovely two-bedroom two-bath apartment which I'm happy with. We have a gorgeous dining room. We have various rooms in the building which are used for various activities. I'm very happy. I participate in what I can and what I want to do. I can't say that there's anything not right about it. You can't love everything but I feel as though I'm at least liked by the staff. To me there's really nothing not to like about it. They have bingo and religious services, Protestant and Catholic denomination. We have a wind down every week or every other week. They do crafts. They have card games if you want to participate. We have three meals a day. Breakfast starts at 7:30 and ends at 9:00. Lunch is served at 11:30 until 1:00. Dinner is served from 4:30 until 6:00. They have an area outside the building that you can walk. It's a good walking distance, and for physical therapy it's wonderful. The staff is wonderful. I feel very comfortable with them. They'll do anything that I ask them to do within reason. I feel that I'm well liked by the staff. We can't please everybody. There are some that like what's being served most of the time, and there are some that like what is being served all of the time. They offer you alternatives, so you'll never go hungry. They are very clean and they're very particular about it. Not everybody participates in activities because not everybody is well enough to do so, but whoever does, they're happy with it. I'm getting my money's worth. We live in a very nice community. I'm very safe here. You're provided with three meals a day. You are provided housekeeping once a week. They do laundry for you. There's nothing that's left out. I feel that the people here are getting their optimal care and everyone here at Danbury does have a reason for being here."

"My parents knew about Trillium Place because some people that go to their church live there, so that was how we chose to look at it. We were only there for a few hours, but it seemed very nice, the rooms seemed nice, the staff was friendly, and it seemed like a good place. The rooms were a decent size, they were clean and updated, so that was nice, and the facility had a lot of nice features too. There were grounds to walk around. We got to eat there and the food was good. "

"At Kensington Place Retirement Community, they have a therapy room and a gym; the laundry room is free. The rooms are very, very nice. Their dining area is nice and open. "

"the entire building was beautiful, warm and inviting. They makes you feel comfortable and go out of their way to help you. l enjoyed the art classes, cooking, paying games such as bingo, trivia, and the outings We took I was very happy there and hated to move. this is the perfect community."

"Sunrise of Dublin was excellent, and it's a newer facility. The rooms were a little bit bigger, and they had more rooms and had more rooms available. They also had a walking trail. "

"It was very pretty. It's only been there for 14 months so it was the newest with the biggest rooms and the most activities. I met the woman who gave me a tour, I met two nurses, the chef, the dining room supervisor, and the receptionist. All of them are very friendly. They stopped at the table where we were talking and chatted for a few minutes. All of them stopped, except the receptionist, because she had to stay in the lobby. I did not eat there but I talked to the chef. He said that they don't open cans and they don't freeze their vegetables. All of their vegetables are fresh. That's the only place where I got any information about food. I just don't know what it would cost for my cousin to go there, and that was the drawback. They were a little vague. They said they're willing to do an assessment, even if we haven't decided she's coming, like on FaceTime or something, because my cousin is not local. So, they said they could do a long-distance assessment, then they could tell us which level of care she would be in. If I were younger and had unlimited time, I could do all these assessments and find out exactly what it would cost everywhere, but I'm not younger. They've got a beautiful library and three dining rooms connected to each other. It's beautifully laid out. It's in a busy neighborhood, a construction zone, so I wouldn't give the neighborhood a high mark, but the facility is beautiful. There's a parking garage."
