"The lady who did the tour at The Avalon of Lewis Center was good to follow up later with me. She reached out to me several times and they even brought something by my door and left a little gift, a book, on how to pick communities, and things like that. She also followed up with me through email and phone calls multiple times. I thought the tour was great. I liked the facility. It was very clean. It smelled good and it was well-maintained. It was the closest to where we lived so I was considering it during the time that I was looking for my dad."

"My mom is in The Inn At Olentangy Trail. It is a beautiful facility. My main complaint is that I do not feel they have enough aides. The people are very nice. They do the best they can. "

"My mom moved into the memory care area at Dublin Retirement Village in March, right before the facility had to restrict visitation due to the virus. Despite the shutdown, the staff and caregivers made every effort to keep residents happy and families connected. They went above and beyond to help my mom adjust to her new surroundings and the virus restrictions. They have done a good job keeping all residents safe during this pandemic. Now that we can visit outside, they have set up numerous stations for safe visitation with family members, which has been wonderful. I would definitely recommend this memory care facility."

"We toured Bickford of Worthington. The place was attractive and friendly. It was not too big or too small. What caught my eye and got me really interested was the back outdoor area. It was very clean and very homey. The person who gave the tour was Paola. She was wonderful. She was very friendly, very tactful with my mom, very accommodating, and really friendly. She made us smile and laugh. She could answer all the questions. The dining area was very clean. The menus looked fine, but we didn't have any meals there. I caught the end of a few activities in the afternoon. People were engaged. There was laughter, and they were smiling. It just checked a lot of boxes for us. The size was right. They had a 1-bedroom, and they allowed pets."

"I toured the assisted living facility of Alpine House Of Columbus. I like that when you go in, they have the black iron work and all the trees in the community area, and where you eat. I like that part. I did not like the apartment space because it didn't have a stove. I would really like to have a small kitchen, a bedroom, and a bath. I didn't like that when you walked in the door, you could see the whole apartment. I also did not like the area. The tour was great, though. They also mentioned that the meals and snacks are included, and I like that part."

"Their rehab facility is clean. My sister has a semi-private room there now. She's getting some physical therapy and help her to get some balance. She has some issues with getting dizzy. The staff are friendly and nice. "

"My mom is in Oakleaf Village of Columbus. The staff was pretty cooperative, and informative. Right now they basically are trying to get my mom involved in activities. They have a mass there once a month, and they take those who want to go to church on Sundays since they have a small van service. They have entertainers, and people come in to sing for an hour. They have popcorn-hour, and they have buses going to different places. It seemed warmer, and there were people out-and-about. The staff, and the people in the dining area is very pleasant. When your money runs out, they don't throw you out. They help you apply for Medicaid, and they keep Medicaid patients there. "

"My father-in-law is a resident. They have done a great job taking care of him, especially during COVID. He is showered, fed, and overseen. We can't get in there to see him, so we do a once a week visitation. As far as care, he has been well taken care of. It seems very good. We work well with Angela, who has been wonderful. Cara, the nurse, has been wonderful, too. She answers any questions my mother-in-law has. She also tries to reassure my mother-in-law because she is very sad that she can't see my father-in-law every day. We know that they're taking the best care of him."

"Brookdale Westerville was awesome, but the size of the rooms were small. Otherwise, we would have gone with them. The people there were amazing, it just came down to the room size. It was such a small community and everybody knew each other, so it really had this warm feeling."

"The Coventry Senior Living was very pretty. It's only been there for 14 months so it was the newest with the biggest rooms and the most activities. I met the woman who gave me a tour, I met two nurses, the chef, the dining room supervisor, and the receptionist. All of them are very friendly. They stopped at the table where we were talking and chatted for a few minutes. All of them stopped, except the receptionist, because she had to stay in the lobby. I did not eat there but I talked to the chef. He said that they don't open cans and they don't freeze their vegetables. All of their vegetables are fresh. That's the only place where I got any information about food. I just don't know what it would cost for my cousin to go there, and that was the drawback. They were a little vague. They said they're willing to do an assessment, even if we haven't decided she's coming, like on FaceTime or something, because my cousin is not local. So, they said they could do a long-distance assessment, then they could tell us which level of care she would be in. If I were younger and had unlimited time, I could do all these assessments and find out exactly what it would cost everywhere, but I'm not younger. They've got a beautiful library and three dining rooms connected to each other. It's beautifully laid out. It's in a busy neighborhood, a construction zone, so I wouldn't give the neighborhood a high mark, but the facility is beautiful. There's a parking garage."

"I liked Westerwood. The staff gave me the best tour that anybody has ever done. I was there for a couple of hours. He showed me just about everything that there was. They had so much available at that place. They have an artist that's there four days a week to help residents with artwork. They had a woodworking facility. They had an exercise room with a variety of decent amounts of equipment. They had so many activities, which was what I wanted. They update all of their rooms before somebody moves in, and they're doing a really great job. There's one meal included in the price. Unfortunately, the location was not very good. It was in an area with a high crime rate several years ago, but the man who gave me the tour said that that has been taken care of, so I need to check on that. But as far as all the opportunities they have there for you, and the price of the room and all of it, I would give it a perfect score. It was an older building, but it's very up-to-date now. It looked clean and nice."

"My father is at The Ashford at Sturbridge assisted living. He just wasn't happy with the food, but their chef is working to make that better. I've been talking with the director and such. The physical appearance is excellent. They've only been open a couple of years. I think it'll be three years this coming January. Their services are very good for both the aides and the nurses. They're very attentive. When I talk with them and ask if they could take care of something for my dad, they're always very willing to do that. I haven't eaten there since January of 2019 when they first moved in. The menu is varied, and I think some of my dad's problem is that he's 88 and your taste buds start to go when you get older. Things just don't taste as you remember them. They take them out to restaurants once in a while and out to shopping. They also have a little car show in their parking lot, and they've had the OSU alumni band come there and play. They have a lot of good activities. They have an onsite beautician and a library. My dad said the food has been very good the last two weeks and it's been three weeks ago since I talked with management about it. I know he's paying less than he would at some other places. They're very responsive. They've closed their facility due to Covid before the governor closed the State of Ohio. I feel that they're very concerned about the welfare of their residents. That's their number one priority and I'm thankful for that."

"Carriage Court of Hilliard seemed very modern compared to the other places. It seemed like everything was more up-to-date. The thing I liked the least is they kind of hurried us through the tour. We did it at 6:30 in the evening. We did not talk to any of the staff other than the person who gave us the tour. She seemed knowledgeable, but it seemed like she was trying to hurry us through. The cleanliness was great. I would have needed a map to figure out where I was going. I had no idea where we were as we were taking the tour, like the entrance to the building. The atmosphere felt kind of laid back. There were very few people out and about. There were very few employees out and about. There wasn't much going on."
