My wife moved into Carriage Court of Hilliard. I think it's an excellent facility, but they struggle with staffing issues just like everybody. They have a range of things. Every day of the month, there are numbers of activities and exercises and things to do and she does some of them. There's no lack of stuff to do. The place is clean and comfortable. Pretty much everybody is happy, so that helps a lot. The people that run this particular facility are all very good.

We visited the Carriage Court of Hilliard. It was not as spacious as the other facility. The room was very tiny and dark. It wasn't brightly lit. I didn't even see a window in that room. The bathroom was nice-sized. They had a nice area where people could gather. They had tables and chairs out there, but it also served as their dining area. The staff was very informative and came out with pricing right up front, which I certainly appreciated. They told us what to expect as far as what my sister's regression might be and what the adjustment period might be for her. The facility seemed clean. The facility itself on the outside was fine. You had to supply your own furniture.

Carriage Court of Hilliard seemed very modern compared to the other places. It seemed like everything was more up-to-date. The thing I liked the least is they kind of hurried us through the tour. We did it at 6:30 in the evening. We did not talk to any of the staff other than the person who gave us the tour. She seemed knowledgeable, but it seemed like she was trying to hurry us through. The cleanliness was great. I would have needed a map to figure out where I was going. I had no idea where we were as we were taking the tour, like the entrance to the building. The atmosphere felt kind of laid back. There were very few people out and about. There were very few employees out and about. There wasn't much going on.

I toured Carriage Court of Hilliard. I think the best thing about it was their facility. It was large. It had great amenities like snack stations and things like that. The place is easy to access. They serve snacks like apples and oranges and you can get a drink. They also have a happy hour on Fridays. It was pretty much conducive to real life. Everyone was nice. The staff was very professional. The rooms were pretty nice. They had two sizes and both seemed somebody could live in. They were very well decorated and very well maintained. It looked almost new. The atmosphere was great. The people were friendly. It was in a very populated area. I had lunch there and the food was very fresh. You can tell they took time and they cared about what they were serving. They had fresh fruit. The tuna salad was made very well. The dining area looked nice. It was in the front of the building and they had menus on the tables. They have an activity room. When I went there, they were playing bingo. I don't know much about the activities other than what I read in the brochure. They had a party area. The facility looked very nice. It was beautiful.

What I liked best about Carriage Court of Hilliard is it had a memory care unit that if things went bad, my father could move into, but it was more of a clinical setting than what I call a relaxed communal setting. The staff seemed a lot younger. I think an older staff for that kind of place would be more comfortable for the residents. They have everything, but it's just a more clinical setting. It didn't feel as homey as the other place did. They have a gym, a salon, and laundry units. Upkeep was very good. It's near everything. It is literally in the middle of everything.

We went to Carriage Court of Hilliard. It was very nice, but my mother-in-law wasn't able to go. I love it. I would go there. I felt very comfortable with everyone there. They're very kind. Angie was our contact there, and she fully went through the instructions and answered any questions that I had. My sister went with me and even she thought it was very nice. The staff was awesome, and that's why I didn't even want to go look at another place. I just felt very comfortable with her and her knowledge of the facility. It was very clean. The lunch smelled delicious. People seemed happy. We just walked by the dining area, and the residents were eating, but it was very clean. The workers there seemed very nice to the residents giving them their lunch, and it smelled good. We saw a studio and it was a nice size. If we go there, we will choose a one-bedroom for my mother-in-law. I think the studio was too small for most people for long-term.

We did move my dad at Carriage Court of Hilliard for one day, and now he's in the hospital. The staff, from the day we took the tour until the day he failed, I loved them all. They were all very professional, loving, and caring. They've all been wonderful. Everything was clean. The food seemed to be good. The activities were wonderful. On Thursday night that we were there, they had trick or treat for the families and it was a lot of fun what they did. There were a lot of families that brought their kids and the residents there handed out candies. They do happy hour between 2 and 4 every night. One night when we were there, they had a baseball thing. So they had crackerjacks, pretzels with mustard, and nachos. They had a library and I know they do transportation up to 10 miles if they have doctor's appointments.

I got my friend moved into Carriage Court of Hilliard. I have been there every day just to check on her and make sure everything's going well. It is wonderful. They have worked so hard with me. My friend has no real relatives around that are involved in her life, and I went to Carriage Court asking if they could help me get her in and so forth, and Lindsey in particular was such a big help in getting my friend in. I also have my father-in-law at Carriage Court, and that happened in December, and he just loves it. The building is extremely clean, and they don't have a lot of restrictions as far as what you can have in your room that's safe. You can decorate it any way that you want. A refrigerator is provided, and they have plenty of hookups and it's very clean. So I'm very happy with it. Three meals a day are provided. I had lunch there on Monday. I was waiting to have a meeting with Ella for the lease agreement, and they served me lunch while I was waiting, and it was very good. The staff are just wonderful. My father-in-law goes to some of the activities there, and they are well done. Particularly a Bible study that takes place on Wednesday that he joins in, and he enjoys it. And then I was at a dance recital on Monday, and everybody came down to watch it. I can tell that the residents very much enjoy the activities. As for the value of the money, I did a lot of shopping, and they are by far the most reasonable.

I found Carriage Court of Hilliard for mom. Its design is exactly like the building that she's in right now. When we walked up, there were rocking chairs on the porch. She has longed to have a rocking chair to sit in because they took them away from the place she's at now. It was inviting and clean, and the people were friendly. The layout is just like where she is. She's 92, and she's blind. I didn't want her to have to learn a new facility, and it just worked out perfect. The room was clean. There is carpeting in it now, but they were getting ready to remodel it and redo the carpeting. We talked to them, and they are putting down laminate floor; that was wonderful. She has a walker. She's 92 and carpet isn't always friendly. They're changing that for her. It has a cabinet and a countertop. She didn't have any storage like that before, so that'll be a nice thing for her. The bathroom was extremely clean. The whole room was clean. The dining area was like a restaurant, and it's very nice. The tables were spaced out. People were eating and visiting their loved ones, and it looked like Sunday dinner. They had a salon, a bistro where she can get coffee or juice 24/7 and snacks, and a craft room. They also have tables in there, and they do bingo and games. There were puzzles sitting out. It was very tastefully done. There were areas outside of her room where she could sit and entertain someone without having them in her room if she didn't want. There's a courtyard where there are plants and flowers and people sitting. I was very happy. It's the same thing she has now, but much nicer. The staff was very friendly.

My dad is now at Carriage Court of Hilliard. When we moved him in we weren't communicated with well and that has not changed. With the coronavirus going on it is hard to get a hold of somebody there. The place is clean. The staff member who assisted us was nice. Dad says the food is good. They have a nice dining area with a nice set up. His apartment is clean, spacious, and bright. There was some music and they were playing bingo when we visited, but when we got in there they went on lockdown. The cost was a little higher than I thought. They should also have a better welcoming committee. We sat in there for two hours before they came and talked to us.

We had a very good tour at Carriage Court of Hilliard. They showed us the assisted living and memory care sites. I'm more impressed with this place than the other one we visited. I saw the aides in the memory care ward working at the table with activities. They had an exercise room, a library, puzzle room, and activities, like music every night. The dining area in the memory care was smaller maybe because a lot of the residents take their meals in their rooms; I was also shown the menu. The rooms were private but you could also share a room.

My mother was a resident of Carriage Court Memory Care for less than 3 weeks. During this time, she was dressed in someone else's too large sweats, partially dressed, (her arms were not pulled through arm hole), and completely dehydrated. We made sure our mother had very nice clothes that made it easy to take her to restroom and dress/undress, so there was no need for her to be in someone else's too large clothing. My mother has been gone for over a week. When we went to collect her things, her bed was soiled and had obviously been that way for over a week! There was also no reason for her to be completely depleted of fluids! Not happy at all!

I was very impressed with Carriage Court of Hilliard. There was one lady in particular that was very over and above and beyond the normal concern for both of us. She did an outstanding job trying to help us at a time which was very difficult for me. I would consider them, but the cost is prohibitive. $5000 a month is just a lot of money.

What we did not like about Carriage of Court of Hillard was the fact that they were going to start a rebuild, and everything was going to be in a mess, so we did not like that. We talked to some of the residents. The staff seemed to be helpful. The rooms were small, but after the construction is done, I feel it’s going to be beautiful.

My wife was there for several months and she received excellent care. The staff is friendly and very compassionate. Her room was large and accommodating for her family members and grandkids to visit. She was able to join any activities she wanted and also have privacy when she didn't. I would recommend Carriage Court to anyone looking for Assisted Living.

I had a very bad experience at Carriage Court of Hilliard. I would not recommend that place to anyone. The only reason I picked it was that it was close to home. I actually admitted my husband there for a period of time, and they had not enough caregivers for the level of care these patients needed. They were understaffed. On top of me having him there as a resident, they wanted me to hire someone to be with him 24/7. The staff that I had there were wonderful, but there weren't enough of them. I couldn't find a nurse to help me. The bottom line was that this facility was not there for the residents; it was there for the owner. My husband's room was good. We brought a lot of our own furniture because I was trying to make it as homey as possible for Carl. However, the food was terrible. The aide who was on the floor had to go to the cafeteria or wherever they made their food and bring it in themselves. They just didn't have someone bring it to them. If I wasn't there to feed my husband, he didn't get fed.

My mother in law received excellent care when she was at Carriage Court of Hilliard several years ago. She enjoyed participating in the activities. All of the employees were very pleasant and outgoing and really encouraged the residents to participate. They also do a lot in the social hall area for the residents to participate in. They even offered little trips during the day to get them out just to see the changing leaves and things like that. It is very well run, very clean, excellent facility.

This is a review of the Dementia Care Unit. This facility is comfortable, friendly, professional, home like ( private rooms), has a calm dog, activities, menu to resident's preference, available limited nursing care. Additional levels of care are adjusted according to ability/need and incur adjusted cost. It cannot accommodate aggressive/hostile residents. I can't say my friend knew where she was but she seemed happy. She enjoyed the dog and when I brought my pets to see her. Everyone enjoyed them too. She remained very calm so was able to spend her final time ther for which I am very grateful.

I visited this location several times over several years. My aunt always seemed very comfortable and well cared for. Whenever we arrived, some residents would greet us from rocking chairs on the front porch, while others would be coming or going on the little bus to various outings. The decor, while not to my taste, was at least as pleasant and certainly as clean as mid-priced hotel chains. I spent time in my aunt's room and ate a meal or two in the dining room. While it is an institution, and so some organizational aspects reflected that, it made a good effort to feel more like a homey resort. I would suggest putting it on your list to visit.
