"We did a tour of Harmony at Anderson. If my mother's health deteriorated and she needed more help, it's available there. If she had to go short of full nursing or full memory care, it could handle anything short of that. So, she wouldn't have to move to get up there. It's equipped much more for people that are physically and mentally handicapped. The layout of the apartment, for someone that was confined to a wheelchair, or a walker was fantastic. These things were designed so you could roll up underneath them. The cupboards were positioned lower. If I remember right, every doorway, everything you had to pass through was extra wide. It's like somebody laid it out to use a wheelchair in it. If only my mom didn't have friends and is already established at her current place. There's nothing bad you could say about this facility, it's very, very nice. The staff was very good. We did not eat there, so I don't know anything about the meals other than what they told us; how it was prepared, and how they dealt with delivery and stuff. They're a little bit more trying to get people to come to the dining room, so they eat in a social environment, but they do have it where they deliver it to your room. The dining facility is beautiful. It's brand new, shiny, and well laid out. The hallways don't have any dents. It's all laminate flooring and stuff. It's very, very nice. "

"Traditions at Camargo was a lovely community. The people were very personable and very helpful. The facility was excellent, and it looked great. The apartments looked very nice, very roomy, and very clean, and I think that it would probably be a good place to live. It had a refrigerator, a microwave, and a dishwasher. The dining area was beautiful. I met the chef and he seemed very nice. I liked the fact that they open at 7 in the morning and they close at 6, but you could go down there any time in between and get something to eat. They also had a place where you could get coffee, juice, and snacks at any time. The staff who assisted me with the tour was very lovely and very personable. The ones that I met were very helpful and concerned about how I was being treated."

"This would have been the one we chose to send my father to. It had more of an open feel for the place. They have higher ceilings and bright rooms. We just walked in and talked to them and did the tour. They had certain nights where they did an open bar deal and it was just like a coffee thing they had with Starbucks. They also said they did cooking classes, which we thought our dad would like more than crafting. In their theater room, they did a lot of history shows and they'd have people come in and do educational stuff on history and all that. Then they had a little courtyard that had a little putting green. They showed us a one-bedroom with a full fridge instead of a mini fridge."

"Kenwood was pretty nice, and they had a nice lounge area. They showed me a one bedroom, a two bedroom, and an exercise room. "

"My mom-in-law was at Brookdale Kenwood. It was a smaller community and a lot of the residents there were very disabled. She didn’t have anyone to talk to. The care from the staff is great. They were really responsive to the residents when they need help. "

"We visited Deer Park Assisted Living. We enjoyed it. It was a nice visit. The staff was very nice, friendly, and organized. It seemed like a very nice place. The tour went through the entire location. We viewed several rooms, and we walked to the community outside. It was a nice, thorough view of the entire area. Their staffing is one of the strong points I like about them. From the time that we walked in up to the time we walked out, they were very nice. We called back afterwards to ask a couple of questions, and we got some good service. Another reason why we liked it is that they were in the process of upgrading the flooring and trying to make it a very nice place."

"We are having a great experience in this memory care. My mother is so happy here . I never knew this side of her. Mom is so social now she tells me she doesn't want to go home to visit's with me. The staff are wonderful they make it look so easy. I know how hard it is though, and appreciate their dedication to making things easier for our family."

"My dad stayed in Traditions of Deerfield for three weeks. The place was very nice and the room was very accommodating. They have a chef, which I think he appreciated because he's finicky about food, and getting him good food was important for his particular situation. He wasn't mobile and couldn't really get up and ambulate on his own, but they were flexible and made different things for him. I have no qualms about their quality of food or the chef. I just had a couple of drawbacks about them. The food given to him was cold upon occasion, and when my mom went there to visit once, there were a bunch of dishes piled up in the sink. That was a little troubling. The staff was very nice, though. They were responsive, and they worked with us on price. The biggest drawback was what happened during Christmas. Nobody could come in and visit there and we get it, that it's because of COVID. I dropped off some Christmas gifts for him so he could have something to open, but we came to discover that several of the Christmas gifts were just put over on the side of the room and weren't even given to him to open until two days later. That just bothered me, because that was just a simple task. It drew my attention to the level of care that was going on there. Overall, it was about as we expected. He was getting physical therapy to come in, since they don't have any physical therapy folks onsite, so they had to outsource them. We had fun, and I had good communication with them. I wouldn't say I don't recommend the place, but price-wise they were comparable to the other facilities he ended up with."

"Covington Ladies Home is small and personalized. It's been a lady's home for 125 years. It's a big old mansion, but it's very well kept and updated. It's beautiful and they keep it very clean. The staff is very caring and that's the most important thing. My mom has been there for almost five weeks now. She loves the food. The staff everyone I've dealt with is very friendly and on top of things. They call me for every little thing. The only drawback for a 125-year old building is there are no individual toilets in each room. There are sinks, vanity mirror, but you have to go two doors down for a toilet and shower. I thought that doesn't really bother her or me much. But it would be great if they could get modernized and put in bathrooms in each room. "

"Brookdale Springdale was clean. The staff was very nice. You could tell they had activities and an eating area. All those things would be important for my mother. The staff members were very friendly. They looked nice. They treated me very nicely. But I noticed a little bit of clutter in a couple of areas. The atmosphere seemed okay. It seemed fine. It's what I expected. When I first walked in, they were doing some sort of activity, and so I could tell that they were taking care of their clients. The rooms are adequate."

"I liked that the rooms at Ohio Living Llanfair were very light, bright, and a good size. The staff we met was very good. They were just a lot more expensive and a little older and dated, but it was still very nice and very clean. They had very pretty grounds outside and plenty of activities such as bingo and happy hour. The dining area was also very nice."

"I couldn't say enough about Liberty Place Memory Care. The girl I was touring with was incredible. She knew so much about the disease of dementia. She was teaching me and gave me a book that was written by an author who was a doctor. They study under the doctor about geriatrics and dementia. They train all their staff, even the janitors and laundry people, under the care of that doctor who wrote the book. She even gave me a copy of it, and it was very informative, so I can't praise her enough. If I were going to move my dad, I would have moved him there. They just don't allow cameras, so my sisters weren't on board with moving in there. We want to see our dad through our camera. I checked the dining area and it was fine. It looked five-star, and there was a family kitchenette."

"I was able to tour Provision Living at West Chester. It's a very beautiful facility, and it's very clean. The people there were really nice and attentive, they answered all our questions, and we had an extremely nice tour. The rooms were really nice, they were accommodating when I had indicated that I would rather have carpeting instead of flooring, if that was something that they'd do. They said that they would do what was needed. You'd have to bring your own microwave, there's not any in every single one of them. The laundry is down the hall, so there's not laundry in the unit itself, but it's spacious, and the ceilings are high. The people were very nice, and those who gave us the tour were extremely knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about it. The reason why I didn't choose this place was because it's an assisted living facility, and I just need independent living. One thing that they had which was wonderful and made it really hard for me to say no, was they have these infrared cameras in the units, in the rooms and bedrooms. So should somebody fall, it alerts the facility people, and they'd come to help you, so you don't have to wear a signal or anything. It's automatically monitoring you, but not monitoring you for what you're doing. They won't know who you are necessarily, but they have the capability of getting to you almost immediately should you need assistance. I received some phone calls prior to touring the facility, from the one who was running the place. It's a really small facility, there were only like 20 rooms. That for me is a little too small, because I want to make some friends. The food was very good."
