The Summit of Blue Ash

My dad is at the memory care facility of The Summit of Blue Ash. His overall experience was good, but he has dementia, and he doesn't know any better that the staff members were treating him neglectfully at night, but those members got fired. The new staff is absolutely incredible. They take the time, and they talk to him. They keep up his room very well. They have housekeeping coming in, and they take care of his toilet, shower, bed, bedding, and laundry. My dad is very participative in the activities too. They have chair exercises, music, and crafts. They also have TV and movies. They set up game shows on the whiteboard, throw darts, have a golf simulator where he can pretend like he's playing golf, and a lot of other activities. They have three dining areas, and it depends on which one you go to, but the food is good in memory care. They offer him a choice between two different main courses, and they bring it out to him. They leave one of the plates there for him, whichever he chooses, which is nice. I can also bring him out into the bistro, and he can get alcoholic beverages for free. The old staff were not treating him well. Now the new ones are, but that doesn't mean that they won't have an issue come up again. The director of nursing is the one I spoke with, and she's been informed as much as we can to let her know what we saw on the cameras. The place costs a lot of money. We just thought he is spending all his hard-earned money, so he should at least get the deserved respect from the staff members, so when we weren't getting good care for him, it was not a good value. They also don't take care of the parking lot. They don't care about plowing and shoveling, so it's very slick.

We toured the independent living community of The Summit of Blue Ash, and our experience was good. They were nice and informative. The rooms are a little smaller than we expected, and we didn't like that it was too much of a hotel atmosphere for us. Other than that, the facility was clean, and the person who gave the tour was very good. We liked everything about it except the rooms. They had everything you could want. They had a pool, a game room, an exercise room, and an outside patio. It was all good. It's probably worth the money, but it's just a little higher than we can afford.

I visited the independent living community of The Summit of Blue Ash, and I liked it a lot. It's just that their 1-bedroom with a den is not really a 1-bedroom with a den. It was more of a 1-bedroom with a small corner that you could do something in. It wasn't even a room, but just like a larger closet. My siblings are literally down the road from where the facility is, so it's convenient for all of them. I like that it's centrally located. The facility is brand-new, so it's nice inside. Meals are all included, but they have a full-size kitchen in the rooms. They also have room for a dining room table and a living room area. I would prefer to have their 2-bedroom apartment because I want an office that is also a sewing room, so that's what I need the second bedroom for. If my kids also come, I have a second bed that they can sleep in. Even though the facility provides an apartment-type thing that they could stay in, that's on a first-come, first-served basis, so if somebody else has it reserved at the same time, then one would get it, and one would not.

We are having a great experience in this memory care. My mother is so happy here . I never knew this side of her. Mom is so social now she tells me she doesn't want to go home to visit's with me. The staff are wonderful they make it look so easy. I know how hard it is though, and appreciate their dedication to making things easier for our family.

I toured The Summit of Blue Ash. That was very nice. I think the gal who took us there said they were being bought by somebody else. It was very neat, clean, sharp, and a very pleasant environment. They had a pool and a gym room and all that. The rooms were very nice and had a nice courtyard and a nice dining room. They have a substantial menu of a variety of everything from hamburgers to a real meal or whatever you want to say.

We toured and it was nice. The rooms are very nice. The staff was excellent. They were very thorough and knowledgeable.
