The Best Independent Living Communities in Hamilton County, OH

"I am choosing Seasons for myself because I have a friend who is a resident there now. My daughter and I are very impressed with it. She wants to make sure that they have the facility to take care of me should I need assisted living later on. The rooms are gorgeous. My friend has a 2-bedroom apartment with 2 baths, but I will be going into a 1-bedroom apartment with 1 bath. The food is very good. Everyone in the dining area is very prompt, very nice, and very accommodating. Their menu is great because it's like you're going into a restaurant. They have a full calendar of activities. It has things that I am interested in and things that I do. I saw the activity areas, the chapel, and the exercise area, and they are all very, very adequate and very well stocked. They have staff on duty 24 hours a day. I feel very comfortable with going there and that if something happens to me after I move in there, they will be able to take care of me quickly."

"I toured The Summit of Blue Ash. That was very nice. I think the gal who took us there said they were being bought by somebody else. It was very neat, clean, sharp, and a very pleasant environment. They had a pool and a gym room and all that. The rooms were very nice and had a nice courtyard and a nice dining room. They have a substantial menu of a variety of everything from hamburgers to a real meal or whatever you want to say."

"We moved my mother to Traditions at North Bend because we very much like the facility. So far, the staff is pretty good. I haven't had the food but my mom says it's fine and she seems to like it. She likes the hair salon, and the library. They also have an outdoor patio; it's very nice. In terms of the upkeep, the place looked very nice and it's about a minute away from the hospital."

"My brother is staying at Blue Rock Senior Living. There are very few residents there. My brother said the food is just tolerable. He says sometimes it's not that good, but he gets plenty of food. The room is very small, but he's making the best of it. I think they keep it very clean. The TV system that they have is Roku, so my brother cannot watch any Reds or Bengals games on his TV, and that's probably the biggest improvement they could make. There's one lady there who's been very helpful to him. She helped him set up his computer and other things. They do my brother's laundry once a week. They clean his room once a week. They have a stairlift, but it's very slow. Their courtyard and patio are very good. They have a very small library, so my brother goes to the public library."

"I visited The Wellington at North Bend Crossing. It was fine. The dining area was nice. It was an open area. They also had another place they called a deli. They had small kitchens, but you don't need a big kitchen when you're in that situation. The staff was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. The problem with the COVID-19, they didn't do as much and didn't show you as much."

"The staff at Mallard Cove was very good, and the rooms were very nice. The food and the dining room setup are excellent. They have an activity director, and they have all kinds of activities going on all the time. "

"Overall, my tour at Sonesta Apartment Homes was excellent. I was looking for an independent living place for my uncle, and the person who gave the tour was very nice and very helpful in explaining things to me. I didn't really get to see too many of the residents. I'm not sure if they weren't there for the day or not, but she explained to me how people did get-togethers in the club room, have coffee, play cards, and communicate with each other. She was very pleasant and answered any questions that I had. The apartment shown to me was nice, well-kept, and just looked brand new. They didn't have a dining area or a place where I could sample food, but I know that the apartment had a nice little kitchen where there was a full-size stove, refrigerator, and microwave. She also explained that it is fully furnished, including dishes, pots, and pans, so basically all my uncle has to do is just move his clothes and any other knick-knacks he might have. I didn't take a look at their gym, but there was also a pool there. I know my uncle's not going to go to the gym, so there was no point in looking at it. The patio was a little small, but it's not like he needed a big patio. They have a little table and chair, if he wants to go outside and eat breakfast or just enjoy the sunshine."

"After looking at a few facilities close to my brothers, my father chose Northgate park. He liked the facilities and the rooms and that it is a month to month rental. I live out of town, so when I visit I spend a lit of time at the facility. Everyone is very friendly and caring. My biggest concern is the food. The menu lacks fresh and low sodium choices. There are a lot of sauces and gravies. My father needs b.c a low sodium diet, and when I asked I was told that their nutritionist said, that low sodium means he chooses not to put salt on his food. There should be healthier, fresher options. "

"Stay away from this facility! Staff is lazy, untrained and uncaring. Residents hygiene is not attended to, laundry is rarely done and any request is ignored. Staff is not responsive and is full of excuses. I am very frustrated with this facility."

"I have spent several hours on the phone speaking with Victoria and Carole. I believe that this facility truly cares, not only about the residents but about the families as well. Truthfully, my father didnt qualify for this facility and I was very disappointed. I would consider it a real blessing if he was able to live here. Even though my father didnt qualify for this facility, Victoria spent so much time explaining to me the different types of and levels of care. She was so kind and I was very grateful for her compassion and understanding. Please take the time to look into this wonderful facility knowing that the Management really cares. I highly recommend that you take advantage of knowing you will be placing your loved one into one of the best assisted living centers our area has to offer. "Silverfern Cincinnati North was clean and nice. The staffing was pleasant. The activities were phenomenal. They have so many things for the seniors to do. It was very impressive. Even with family engagement, they have a special room for the kids to play, which I thought was great. There's a fantastic place for them to play. You could have your seniors and your kids in one place and have that interaction. You could give time and attention to the seniors, so that was very impressive. I like the apartments more than the ones that we have at the other place because it is a little larger."

"We went to see Celebration Villa of Highland Crossing, and we liked it. We toured for independent living. It would have been nicer if there had been a balcony or something, but I think it was very clean and they were very informative. I was disappointed that there was no balcony, but maybe that's a safety feature, so there's no way for the residents to go outside from their apartment. The staff members were very gracious and very nice. If we could afford it, it would have been a good choice."

"Our apartment is great! The people working here are wonderful and the other residents are very nice! We are very comfortable and feel safe living here!"

"The Village at Eastgate was good. It's a little more expensive than the other place, but that would be my number two choice. It was nice. I told them that I would want a first floor and they told me that that costs a little more and I said that was OK. I thought their facilities were good. They had a salon where they do your hair. They didn't have a manicurist. You get one meal included in your rent. You have to pay extra if you want lunch and breakfast, but you have an equipped kitchen in your apartment so you fix your own meals. I didn't meet too many of the staff, but the lady who showed me around was really nice and very helpful."
