"Ohio Living Llanfair is clean and there are a lot of amenities. It's probably the best value for what you get and it's one of the nicest facilities I've visited. Their apartment is freshly painted with new carpet, and it's conveniently laid out for somebody who is a little bit mobility impaired. Everybody was very friendly and professional. There's an exercise room, all kinds of art classes, a library, group activities, and outings. As far as independent living goes, there's a lot of flexibility to make some minor add-ons for somebody who's not quite ready for assisted living, but needs a little bit of help now and again. So, it's independent living with a plus."

"My brother is staying at Blue Rock Senior Living. There are very few residents there. My brother said the food is just tolerable. He says sometimes it's not that good, but he gets plenty of food. The room is very small, but he's making the best of it. I think they keep it very clean. The TV system that they have is Roku, so my brother cannot watch any Reds or Bengals games on his TV, and that's probably the biggest improvement they could make. There's one lady there who's been very helpful to him. She helped him set up his computer and other things. They do my brother's laundry once a week. They clean his room once a week. They have a stairlift, but it's very slow. Their courtyard and patio are very good. They have a very small library, so my brother goes to the public library."

"Stay away from this facility! Staff is lazy, untrained and uncaring. Residents hygiene is not attended to, laundry is rarely done and any request is ignored. Staff is not responsive and is full of excuses. I am very frustrated with this facility."

"Atria is a nice place and it’s all in one level. There are a lot of activities, a lot of things to do. The food is great and the staff is quite friendly and accommodating. They’ve got big rooms, it’s just that the location is a bit farther up than where I would go. I would go there if not for the location. "

"My dad moved here. It is very clean, very resort-like, and the people seemed to be pretty caring. They have everything that my father would like, including three meals a day. He likes the food, they do activities, and they have an activities room. They only offer a little kitchenette sink, they do not have appliances, because they serve three meals a day. So they don't need all the appliances."

"The proximity of Eastgate Village Retirement Living to my house was a lot closer. The staff was very caring and knowledgeable for my grandfather's needs. So, it would be a good fit for him at the price point that he can afford. They have the salon/barber services and he will have his own kitchenette with a microwave and a sink. So, if he wanted to prepare his own food in his room, he could, or he could use the facility there when they make meals at certain times. The rooms are big enough to be comfortable with his two small dogs with him, and he's able to have access to go outside with them, and walk around the grounds. It's a little bit older since it's been around a lot longer, but everything is great as far as what it offers. It still looks nice."

"I visited the independent living community of The Summit of Blue Ash, and I liked it a lot. It's just that their 1-bedroom with a den is not really a 1-bedroom with a den. It was more of a 1-bedroom with a small corner that you could do something in. It wasn't even a room, but just like a larger closet. My siblings are literally down the road from where the facility is, so it's convenient for all of them. I like that it's centrally located. The facility is brand-new, so it's nice inside. Meals are all included, but they have a full-size kitchen in the rooms. They also have room for a dining room table and a living room area. I would prefer to have their 2-bedroom apartment because I want an office that is also a sewing room, so that's what I need the second bedroom for. If my kids also come, I have a second bed that they can sleep in. Even though the facility provides an apartment-type thing that they could stay in, that's on a first-come, first-served basis, so if somebody else has it reserved at the same time, then one would get it, and one would not."

"I would describe Sonesta Apartment Homes as excellent. I was planning to move there before I came here to North Carolina. I thought it was an excellent place. The rooms were very neat and clean. The staff who gave the tour was very professional."

"My sister is in Silverfern Cincinnati North. We chose it because it had everything included, so that's utilities, cable TV, and internet access. She got two meals a day included too. It encompasses all of her normal expenses. It's fairly new for us, but we're pretty happy there. The size of the rooms is fine. It's a very nice facility. They have a nice dining room, a nice lobby area, and an indoor pool. All of it is well maintained. They have a workout room, a movie room where they do movie nights, and a pottery room where people can go and paint pottery and do art. They also have a general art room and a game room where they have the typical card games and dominoes and that kind of stuff. They have a nice outdoor enclosed area where they have a fire pit, some chairs, and covered picnic tables and stuff. You can go outside that, and there is also a walking trail around it. It's open for pets. My sister likes dogs, so she can go out there and sit and have the dogs come up to her. So, it's nice for her to have some exposure without having to have her own pet that she has to take care of. The staff members have been so far very helpful. Their maintenance guys came in and helped us get stuff set up. One of the maintenance guys fixed her walker. The staff that does the program seems very nice. The dining staff is good. My sister likes the folks there. I haven't heard her say anything negative about anyone there. It's always been pretty positive. They have art classes, exercise classes, big ball yoga and stuff like that. They have popcorn on movie nights. They have party things where they go outside and enjoy the great outdoors. They have a virtual reality room where you can go and play video games. They have a small library, but it's not like a public library with hundreds and hundreds of books."

"I toured Beehive Homes of Liberty Township. I liked the fact that they were small-scale. I felt like if I'd been there I could have gotten more one-on-one and more personal attention. It was a very clean facility. The staff was very caring. I have no experience with them, but just from what I observed, they seemed nice and caring."

"In January of 2010 due to grandma's declining mobility and ability to care for herself, we found ourselves searching for an appropriate living situation to fit her unique needs. While she was still able to take care of most of her needs of daily living she struggled with remembering to eat correctly and take her daily medications. We found the perfect situation with Baptist Communities. She was promptly moved into her own private apartment where she was able to feel as though it were her very own private home. The staff cared for her daily medications which greatly improved her health. They also offered daily exercise and craft opportunities which she so much enjoyed. The staff was helpful, courteous and caring. The facility was bright, modern and cheerful. As we could no longer trust grandma to prepare her own meals it was very nice that a meal plan was offered at a very reasonable additional cost. We were very saddened by her passing recently, but we are comforted that her last days were filled with joy and contentment. "

"St. Charles Care Center has both cottages and inside facilities. The staff just went out of their way, particularly Michelle, she has followed up with me. She had just taken a personal interest. The environment was wonderful. In fact, I think that may end up being where we go. Everybody was so friendly and they all looked like they were involved in some kind of activity. It was just very welcoming. "

"Rooms are nice and in the process of updates, the staff that we have meet are were courteous and helpful. Facility is respectful inside and out with any maintenance issues addressed right away. My mom is always busy with activities."
