"We are in the process of moving in. It's a very nice place. One of the nice things they have is a very safe shower. They have two dining rooms that you can order off the menu. The resident's rooms were nice size and so far, the people we've come in contact with are very nice as well. A couple other people that live there said the food was enjoyable. The staff is so helpful that they said they are going to help me invite some friends for a tea or luncheon."

"I'm probably going to stay at Paramount Senior Living at Polaris. I saw both assisted living and independent living there. I chose Paramount Senior Living because it's close to my daughter who will be my power of attorney, and as my condition changes, I will be able to stay there. It's nice. The room is very nicea, the facility is brand new and everything is very nice. The people I met were very nice. They have a beautiful dining room and it's restaurant style. I haven't seen any staff except the lady who showed me around. Nobody is in the home right now because it's brand new. The first patients would be me and whoever comes in in December."

"Mom has a very comfortable room at The Ganzhorn Suites, and the people are very attentive. They take very good care of her, and she has improved a lot in the three weeks that she has been there. The staff is wonderful. I have tried the food, and it is very good. They do all sorts of things, like card games and physical and occupational therapy. It is a beautiful, light, airy, and brand-new place. The staff is very conscious of attending to the patients. The facility is very pleasant. So far, we are very happy with this place. "

"My mother is now at StoryPoint Powell North. All of the ones that we looked at were very nice, and the staff was very caring. But my mother went into memory care and her vision is very poor, and I was afraid in some of the other facilities that she would come out of her room and get scared because she didn't know which way to go or get lost, but at StoryPoint, when you go into the memory care unit, it's one long hallway, so when you come out of your room, it's well-lit, it's beautifully decorated, and it's inviting, you can either go left or right. If you go left and you don't find where you want to go, you go back the other way and you can find the dining room and you can find the social area. When I walked into it, it just seemed very intimate, and watching the residents interacting with each other, they were all having fun. The aides were very caring and very attentive, and I've always found them to be that way every time I've gone there. They're like a family. They treat your loved one like a family member. They have good meals, three meals a day, and they do their laundry. We signed mom up for hospice care also, and they come in and help her bathe and help her get dressed. They've done her hair, and they've done her nails. They have physical therapy and speech therapy. She hasn't been able to take advantage of an outing outside of the building because of COVID and because it's been so cold, but when the weather warms up, she might be able to go on some of their outings. They play bingo, and they've got arts and crafts. They have private rooms; nobody has a roommate. It's really very nice. When both my daughters went with me to see the facility and what we were looking at, they both said as soon as they walked into the memory care area was, 'This feels right.' For memory care, they have a courtyard there. My mom has only been there for two months, and it is cold outside, so I don't know if residents can just push the door open and go out on their own or somebody has to take them out. It's a real tall privacy fence garden area. They have a nice outdoor area for them. They treat you like family. They pay attention to all of your questions, and they get back to you right away. They're nice. When I go to visit her, if one of the aides comes into my mom's room and comes over to the table, Mom always says, 'I just love them. They're so nice. This one's my favorite,' and everyone that comes over, she goes, 'This one's my favorite.' She's very, very happy. They are also transitioning their menu, not that they weren't serving this before, but they want to use healthy whole foods. It sounds like a good menu. It was a really good venue when she moved in, and she likes the food. Whenever I go in, if they're watching a movie or they have bingo going on or physical therapy, almost all the residents in that area are engaged."

"Danbury in Westerville was one of the newer facilities that I saw. The staff was so helpful. They gave me a comprehensive tour explaining everything and showing me different rooms. I was able to see the one- and two-bedroom apartments, and they were very nice. They were spacious enough for one person to live in, and I liked it a lot. They had a large amount of activities to choose from. They also had a variety of food to choose from. I think that everybody would be able to find anything they like to eat there. They had a salon and a library. In this facility, you can go from independent living to assisted living to a higher level of care without moving out of your room."

"My mom has been at Danbury Columbus for 3 1/2 years. In that time she has moved from the regular assisted living to the memory care due to her need for an increased level of care. It is evident from just being at Danbury that Everyone genuinely cares for all the residents. The staff from the Executive Director to housekeeping knows each resident by name. Each resident no matter their level of care or cognition is treated with dignity and respect. In the time she has been there they have always had excellent staffing. The staff are very approachable and willing to assist to ensure that all needs are met. The staff also get to know the famiIy members. I work in healthcare and I am familiar with different care facilities throughout Columbus. Danbury provides Exceptional care. I would and have already recommended Danbury to friend and family."

"My husband is at Bickford of Worthington. They said they could take care of him because his care was kind of extensive. A lot of the places I checked out would call back and say that with the care that he needed, they could not take him. I settled on Bickford for that reason. They assured me that they could take care of him and so they have. You cannot go inside of these places because of COVID, but I spoke with the manager and they seem to be taking care of him. My husband has turned around at least 50% since he's been there. When he went there, he couldn't talk other than a whisper. Now, I go see him and he can talk like he talked before, but his memory is not back and he still cannot walk. Bickford is doing what I would have expected a facility would do. I could only see the outside and the lobby. I can't tell you about the inside because with COVID, you cannot get in. The staff is absolutely amazing and very helpful, and my husband seems to like them all. They recognized that he needed to go to the hospital, so they sent him to the hospital. The staff is doing what I would expect the staff would do. When he got there, the speech therapist said that he had problems swallowing. They discovered that when he was at the hospital, so they put him on a puree diet and he does not like that. We haven't seen the regular food yet. Once his swallowing gets better, I think they're gonna put him on a regular diet. The outside is quite impressive. The day that I went to talk with the manager about it before, he took me around the back of the building and showed me the courtyard. I got to peek through a window, which is what they do now, and the part that I could see was nice. It was a nice big place and from the outside, it was not in tatters. It was well structured and when I looked through the window, I saw people milling about. The bedroom that he could show me through a window looked like an ordinary bedroom. It wasn't elaborate, but it was a nice room. He could only show me the one room from where I was. It didn't seem like anybody was living in it, otherwise, I don't think we'd peek through the window. I'm happy with the place, and they could take my husband. I know my husband is having speech therapy and physical therapy. I don't know about the activities, but I'm sure they have them. They said they have things for the other residents to do, but we didn't delve into that. My husband doesn't partake because he's not able to. We think we're paying too much, but I guess he needs the care."

"My wife moved into Brookdale Westerville. So far, it seems like they've spent a lot more time with her, and she seems to be happy there. It seems like it's more organized, it's not like some of the others, and I think the patients have more attention to them and the staff overall, and spends more time with them. The staff is very good. The dining room tables were set up with cups and plates and silverware and everything. Some of the other places, they didn't even provide napkins. From what they tell me, she has been eating well."

"My mother is now at Brookdale Muirfield. It is OK. It is pretty good. They have some exercise classes, bingo, and football day parties. They go out to lunch every once in a while. Their dining room is clean and well kept. The food seems to be satisfactory. The upfront staff members are friendly. However, they could work on cleaning the room better. The place looks good."

"My parents are in Westerwood. The thing I like the most is it's a nonprofit, and it's pretty much one flat price. They don't charge you for every little thing. I know there's someone who comes in and cleans. I have not seen any of those people, but everybody else seems nice. The meals are really good and they have a good variety. There are a lot of activities. They have everything. They have church activities. They have crafts. They have game nights and they have workout times. I know they have concerts and things like that."

"The Grove at Oakleaf Village seemed quite clean. We had lived in the neighborhood prior to having it recommended to us. Once we went over and visited/had our interview, it seemed like they would be the right choice for us. They take care of our laundry. I was told there are three meals a day, plus evening snack. To my knowledge, there's 24/7 coffee. I hear there are activities for the memory care person. The staff was very nice and very welcoming. They would take state assistance, which is Medicaid."

"My husband moved to Sage Park Memory Care & Transitional Assisted Living. They do a lot of different things including the family. One of the evenings they had a family night where the family could come in and eat dinner and they had everything fixed and stuff in the dining area for the families and residents that were there. That was a good time to meet other people who have patients in the memory care facility and talk to them. Also, it's a good time to get your patient there to acclimate a little bit better with people because there are a number of different people that are there. The staff usually is all there also. So I mean, including the people that run the place and then all the aides and things like that are there and they introduce you to all the people that are running things and what their jobs are, and they all talk. So there's a lot of information they're willing to provide. If you have any questions or concerns or anything, just let them know. Every room has a picture of the person that's there and something that the family has put together for them. When you go in the rooms, all the rooms have that picture and something the families put together for the patient. I have only been there once to eat. He seems to be happy with the meals that are there. They get their three meals plus snacks and stuff. So he seems to be happy with that. The facility is clean and well-put together. They don't have any smells and things like that. They take care of everything. It's bundled pricing, including a number of things, so I'm happy with that."

"My mother is in here and the care is sufficient for her. They care for her needs and everything and we're pretty happy with them. Her room is kept pretty clean once in a while. There's stuff on the floor but not very much. They have bingo and games, did a play for the Wizard of Oz, do trivia, have a theater, and have a guy that plays old songs on the piano with them. She seems to like it a lot and she's making friends. The food is wonderful."

"The things that I believe stand out the most about StoryPoint is the interaction with staff, and the activities and amenities offered. Not only is there a hair salon, a bistro, and a family gathering/party room but there is a monthly calendar that careful planning has gone into for meaningful activities. There are planned excursions for both appointments, and fun activities -- the Conservatory and a chocolate factory/gift shop are two that come to mind. There are trips to the post office, local churches, Target, Penneys, as well as help to get to medical appts. Family is invited to many events -- we have taken part in special meals, grandparents day, the recognition of when our aunt read her testimony, and musical entertainment. Every holiday is acknowledged in some way, some of them in numerous ways. I think the facilities are beautiful and there are many spaces to socialize and relax. I cannot say enough good things about the caring staff and what a team they have built. In addition to an activity team, they arrange such things as flu shots, podiatrist, etc. It has kept our aunt active -- as an Ambassador, she has led bible study, and participates regularly in bingo, cards, puzzles, games and too many events to mention."

"We had a very good tour at Carriage Court of Hilliard. They showed us the assisted living and memory care sites. I'm more impressed with this place than the other one we visited. I saw the aides in the memory care ward working at the table with activities. They had an exercise room, a library, puzzle room, and activities, like music every night. The dining area in the memory care was smaller maybe because a lot of the residents take their meals in their rooms; I was also shown the menu. The rooms were private but you could also share a room."
