"My father-in-law is in Westerwood. He was in the skilled nursing part first, and now he is in the memory care unit. It's very clean and inviting. It's really big. There are a lot of residents and everyone has been very nice, kind, and helpful. The memory care room is nice. It has brand new floors and tall ceilings. It was unfurnished, though, which I was not expecting, so we rented a bed from Medicare and got a couple of chairs in there. It's got a really big bathroom with no door, which was good, because my father-in-law was getting caught in the door at the skilled nursing place. It was not any fault of theirs. This one's wide so he can get his wheelchair there. It's got a shower room where they can have him take a shower with a chair. You don't necessarily need a whole lot of furniture in your room, because there are a lot of sitting areas outside. They have a beautiful courtyard that's locked in where we can take my father-in-law out without worrying if he's going to wander off. There are lots of bird feeders, which is nice, and there's even one right outside of his window. They have a little putting green that they can use. They give you a nice calendar of all the activities and things that you can go to. It's a very nice schedule (they just had a little concert). I also like that there are choices as far as their food. They bring out a cart of different options. There are two different entrees, and then you can choose your sides. I would recommend this place."

"I went to visit my aunt at Oakleaf Village of Columbus. I think it's a nice place. I am not sure if they watch everyone as well as I think they should. It seems that the food is good. She needs hearing aids, and her hearing aids have been lost. Whenever we pick her up, sometimes her hair is dirty and unkempt. Sometimes other people are wearing her shoes or clothes. They do a lot of different activities, which is nice. They bring in musicians and sing together. They have a nice Thanksgiving meal before COVID, which our family has enjoyed. Some staff members cared about her. The facility looks like a nice atmosphere. They have nice walls and a fireplace. We have gone into the little beauty area, washed her hair, and colored it one time. That's all they have, but you have to have money to pay for that. They have a little walkout area, but I've never seen her be able to use it. They have a garden area with some flowers, but I've never seen anyone out in the garden area. I like the setup where they all have to gather together in a dining area. It's an open system so you can see the TV."

"Creekside at the Village appeared to be comfortable and nice, and it's very appropriate for seniors. They had spacious one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units, and some come with a fireplace. It was a very nice community. They have activities like playing cards, bingo, and they have outings outside the community. The staff there was very helpful and very personable. Their dining area looked really clean and appropriate. Overall, it's a very clean and well-operated community. We were there to look at their assisted living level."

"I live a couple blocks from here, and we liked what we saw very much. They answered my questions just fine, and I think I may go there someday. It's quite a new facility -- only a couple years old -- so it's still quite nice. They had some trips, and they had rooms where individuals were playing some games and doing some puzzles. That had been my first choice primarily because I know some people there, and I'm familiar with the street this facility is in. "

"Springwood in Westerville was very quiet, very accessible, and clean. The staff seemed to be very accommodating. They have different trips that you can go on. They bus people to various places and they have a lot of activities onsite. They have all of the exercise types of things that you can use. The place that has the meals is right across the courtyard from the independent living. It's in the place for assisted living and you can take advantage of the meals there monthly."

"We toured Harrison on 5th by Senior Star. It's very convenient for everything I like. It's brand new, and obviously, it's going to be clean, but it just seems so perfect and shiny. The sampling of food we had was excellent. They seemed to have an excellent food staff. Everybody there was very, very friendly and nice, and looked ready to receive guests. They have a little workout facility right on the same floor that we're looking at, and it looks out over a nice view of the river. And so, you had a nice look out. It's close to OSU hospital, like two blocks away. All of the things were included in the price, but they did have a $900 per second person fee, which seemed like a lot. But when you get all your meals for free and all of that, it doesn't seem unreasonable."

"If you are looking for a place that will treat your loved one with care and respect, then look no further. I had the pleasure of meeting Madison on our first trip and she did not disappoint. She embodies everything that you would want your loved one to be around. She’s genuine, caring and kind. This is the type of person who loves their job and filters that love to everyone she interacts with during the day. This is how all staff interactions go at Story Point. The mental health and physical well-being of my mother-in-law has improved vastly since being there. We are so thankful that there is such an amazing facility close to home!"

"Their rehab facility is clean. My sister has a semi-private room there now. She's getting some physical therapy and help her to get some balance. She has some issues with getting dizzy. The staff are friendly and nice. "

"United Church Homes - The Polaris Community is independent living and it provides a third-party care program. What I liked about it most is that it was an age-in program. A person could spend the rest of their lives there, even as they transition from independent to assisted. It was equipped for all of those. The person could age in there all the way up to even needing hospice, and they would not have to leave the premises to find another location to stay. Everything was included in the cost. All of the utilities, meals, activities, and access to many different floors were included. They had an area where they could go and interact. It was not affordable housing, but it was not high-end. It was moderate, but it was beautiful. It had just about every amenity. It looks almost like a hotel style, very spacious, and inviting. They said that doctors come to the facility. They also had transportation if they needed to go to the store or if they needed to go to a doctor's appointment. Those things were provided without extra cost. I only met two workers, the lady that took us on the tour and someone was doing some cleaning. Everybody was pleasant. The young lady who did the tour was very thorough. She had a lot of confidence about what they had to offer for the residents. They did show us the different rooms where the residents could eat. They have 24-hour access if they want to get something to snack on and get something to drink. They did talk about activities that are posted. If they like planting with flowers, they have rooms especially designed for them to do that. They took us out to the back where they had an outdoor garden where the residents could work. They were in the area where they could walk to the stores and shops. It was very pleasant."

"The Coventry Senior Living was a very new facility. So, it was in good shape and it was beautiful inside. They had a huge library space when you walk in. The lobby was nice, too. The person who took me on the tour was very thorough and very friendly. I felt like they answered all my questions. It was a place where I felt like I could put my parents and feel good about it."

"I would like to share my experiences with this location. My dad entered on 8/21/22. I am not an employee. My dad lived with me since 2005. In 2021 his care far exceeded what we were able to provide with home aids and ourselves. Plus, my home was not wheelchair accessible and this meant that my dad was now isolated from the outside world. I began to look for a better situation and Paramount was my first stop as it is the the closest to my home. I have been nothing but impressed with the level of care and communication I receive regarding my dad. I cannot comment on other posts that state that their loved one is in a cramped room because my dad has what is called a "studio" so it is his alone. Whenever I have had an issue or a concern it has been immediately dealt with (and my concerns have been about my dad - not the staff). From Angel at the front desk to Lori his nurse to all the aids that assist him all the way to Angie the director - I have been extremely pleased. My dad now has people he interacts with all day, meals prepared 3 times a day, all the snacks he could want, hygiene care (they have their own "beauty parlor" and physical therapy in their gym. The facility did recently take in many other patients from another facility that was closing but I think that this has made things more lively as there were only a few residents when my dad entered. This is on the more expensive side of the facilities that I looked at but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for - we do not get any assistance to cover costs. I appreciate that each case is different and you need to evaluate what the right level of care is for your loved one. I am happy with the one on one help that my dad has and all of the staff that attend to them. I am there every week, sometimes multiple times, and I have never witnessed anything that would make me concerned."

"The Bristol just checks all the boxes. It is beautiful. It's brand new. The food is good. The staff is nice. The apartment's very nice, too, and my mom is going to have a beautiful balcony when she moves in. The size of the rooms is so nice. It has lots of closets and she is going to have her own storage space. They have activities directors that come in and help. They have 24-hour nursing care, which was important to me, where a nurse practitioner comes in three times a week to the facility. They have a theater, a little cafe, beautiful walking grounds, which look over to a scenic park, a couple of really nice terraced patios that you can look out on, and a market that is right next door that you can walk to."

"Our visit at Danbury at Columbus was very nice and we were impressed. The apartments were very nice, and the 2-bedroom unit was just what we need. They have an exercise room, outings to restaurants, and different activities around town. They have a doctor on staff as well as nurses, and they also help with dialysis."
