"I went to visit my aunt at Oakleaf Village of Columbus. I think it's a nice place. I am not sure if they watch everyone as well as I think they should. It seems that the food is good. She needs hearing aids, and her hearing aids have been lost. Whenever we pick her up, sometimes her hair is dirty and unkempt. Sometimes other people are wearing her shoes or clothes. They do a lot of different activities, which is nice. They bring in musicians and sing together. They have a nice Thanksgiving meal before COVID, which our family has enjoyed. Some staff members cared about her. The facility looks like a nice atmosphere. They have nice walls and a fireplace. We have gone into the little beauty area, washed her hair, and colored it one time. That's all they have, but you have to have money to pay for that. They have a little walkout area, but I've never seen her be able to use it. They have a garden area with some flowers, but I've never seen anyone out in the garden area. I like the setup where they all have to gather together in a dining area. It's an open system so you can see the TV."

"Creekside at the Village appeared to be comfortable and nice, and it's very appropriate for seniors. They had spacious one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units, and some come with a fireplace. It was a very nice community. They have activities like playing cards, bingo, and they have outings outside the community. The staff there was very helpful and very personable. Their dining area looked really clean and appropriate. Overall, it's a very clean and well-operated community. We were there to look at their assisted living level."

"I’m pleased to givea review for Danbury in Westerville. My family member has been living there for just over a year. His apartment is lovely with ample space including a nice size bedroom, private bath with walk-in shower, a nice living room area with a kitchenette. The staff is very attentive and responds quickly to needs if they arise. The 3 meals a day are delicious according to my family member and all other services like cleaning and laundry are good as well. Making a decision to choose Assisted Living for a loved one is difficult, but the Danbury team made it a smooth transition for our loved one. We are pleased with our decision and the level of care he receives."

"Springwood in Westerville was very quiet, very accessible, and clean. The staff seemed to be very accommodating. They have different trips that you can go on. They bus people to various places and they have a lot of activities onsite. They have all of the exercise types of things that you can use. The place that has the meals is right across the courtyard from the independent living. It's in the place for assisted living and you can take advantage of the meals there monthly."

"Harrison on 5th by Senior Star was really nice. I visited their independent living community, and I liked it. Everybody, even the chef, came out and introduced himself to me, and I thought that was very nice. The lady who toured us answered all my questions and introduced me to some other residents, with the idea that if I were living there, I would already have some girlfriends. That was extremely thoughtful and very nice. I had lunch there, and the food was very nice. The place itself was very nice and clean. It just had kind of a cold feeling and wasn't as welcoming as a couple of the other places I went to. It had a very sterile feel, or maybe it was just too modern, so I didn't feel at home. It didn't have that homey kind of feeling. It's like going to some fancy hotel in downtown Columbus, and that kind of turned me off."

"After visiting several independent living facilities StoryPoint is by far the best. My mother has been a resident now for 4+ years. I am a snowbird and only child so the peace of mind I have with her being here is a wonderful value. We call it resort living. The facility is always clean, activity schedule has something for everyone and the restaurant style meal choices are the top 3 reasons she has chose to stay here. Having independence for the elderly is important for their mental health and happiness Having a washer and dryer in your unit is not available at all facilities but a must for mom. "

"I visited the assisted living facility for my wife. It's very clean, and the people really helped show everything and explain how it works. I like the place. They have 24-hour nurses, not really constantly with the help, but they check in on you for 24 hours. They have three shifts, which is very helpful for me because they're supposed to check her every time, in case something happens. I looked at a small studio. There's no big room, but it's fine. We don't need a big place anyway. Every day, I think after lunch, they play some bingo. On the weekends, I think somebody comes and plays live music. There were a lot of people there, and I think they were happy. All the interactions I had with the people there were really nice. I feel that the place is really comfortable for everybody."

"I would like to share my experiences with this location. My dad entered on 8/21/22. I am not an employee. My dad lived with me since 2005. In 2021 his care far exceeded what we were able to provide with home aids and ourselves. Plus, my home was not wheelchair accessible and this meant that my dad was now isolated from the outside world. I began to look for a better situation and Paramount was my first stop as it is the the closest to my home. I have been nothing but impressed with the level of care and communication I receive regarding my dad. I cannot comment on other posts that state that their loved one is in a cramped room because my dad has what is called a "studio" so it is his alone. Whenever I have had an issue or a concern it has been immediately dealt with (and my concerns have been about my dad - not the staff). From Angel at the front desk to Lori his nurse to all the aids that assist him all the way to Angie the director - I have been extremely pleased. My dad now has people he interacts with all day, meals prepared 3 times a day, all the snacks he could want, hygiene care (they have their own "beauty parlor" and physical therapy in their gym. The facility did recently take in many other patients from another facility that was closing but I think that this has made things more lively as there were only a few residents when my dad entered. This is on the more expensive side of the facilities that I looked at but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for - we do not get any assistance to cover costs. I appreciate that each case is different and you need to evaluate what the right level of care is for your loved one. I am happy with the one on one help that my dad has and all of the staff that attend to them. I am there every week, sometimes multiple times, and I have never witnessed anything that would make me concerned."

"We toured the assisted living section, and it was excellent. The community is very welcoming. The person who gave the tour was very thorough and very good at what she does. She gave a very warm feeling about the place. The room was very good, and the bathroom was very large. The activities were excellent. They have a wide variety, and they were very appealing."

"The staff at Danbury of Columbus is absolutely wonderful--all of them from the exec director to the people at the front desk, the chefs, the nurses , the activity people, the maintenance man, the PTs, and the people who take care of the residents. We are so happy that we found this place for our Mom to live. She enjoys the outings, bingo, the crafts, chair volleyball, movies and the special events like BBQs. She has met a number of residents that she enjoys spending time with. I can't emphasize enough how kind the people who work there are to the residents. The food is great too!"

"The visit at Trillium Place was very professional and very nice. We liked what we saw. The place was bright and sunny, it had a good feeling about it. We took my mother-in-law over after our initial visit and she liked the people that she talked to. She also liked the rooms. They had us stay for dinner and she was impressed with the wait staff and how the dinner went. "

"Stone Oak Retirement Resort is a luxury resort. This is a fairly new community. It was very nice. I would like to live there myself. The room was very large and very clean, and it had a place to put a washer and a dryer."

"My mother is now at StoryPoint Powell North. All of the ones that we looked at were very nice, and the staff was very caring. But my mother went into memory care and her vision is very poor, and I was afraid in some of the other facilities that she would come out of her room and get scared because she didn't know which way to go or get lost, but at StoryPoint, when you go into the memory care unit, it's one long hallway, so when you come out of your room, it's well-lit, it's beautifully decorated, and it's inviting, you can either go left or right. If you go left and you don't find where you want to go, you go back the other way and you can find the dining room and you can find the social area. When I walked into it, it just seemed very intimate, and watching the residents interacting with each other, they were all having fun. The aides were very caring and very attentive, and I've always found them to be that way every time I've gone there. They're like a family. They treat your loved one like a family member. They have good meals, three meals a day, and they do their laundry. We signed mom up for hospice care also, and they come in and help her bathe and help her get dressed. They've done her hair, and they've done her nails. They have physical therapy and speech therapy. She hasn't been able to take advantage of an outing outside of the building because of COVID and because it's been so cold, but when the weather warms up, she might be able to go on some of their outings. They play bingo, and they've got arts and crafts. They have private rooms; nobody has a roommate. It's really very nice. When both my daughters went with me to see the facility and what we were looking at, they both said as soon as they walked into the memory care area was, 'This feels right.' For memory care, they have a courtyard there. My mom has only been there for two months, and it is cold outside, so I don't know if residents can just push the door open and go out on their own or somebody has to take them out. It's a real tall privacy fence garden area. They have a nice outdoor area for them. They treat you like family. They pay attention to all of your questions, and they get back to you right away. They're nice. When I go to visit her, if one of the aides comes into my mom's room and comes over to the table, Mom always says, 'I just love them. They're so nice. This one's my favorite,' and everyone that comes over, she goes, 'This one's my favorite.' She's very, very happy. They are also transitioning their menu, not that they weren't serving this before, but they want to use healthy whole foods. It sounds like a good menu. It was a really good venue when she moved in, and she likes the food. Whenever I go in, if they're watching a movie or they have bingo going on or physical therapy, almost all the residents in that area are engaged."
