"My father-in-law is in Westerwood. He was in the skilled nursing part first, and now he is in the memory care unit. It's very clean and inviting. It's really big. There are a lot of residents and everyone has been very nice, kind, and helpful. The memory care room is nice. It has brand new floors and tall ceilings. It was unfurnished, though, which I was not expecting, so we rented a bed from Medicare and got a couple of chairs in there. It's got a really big bathroom with no door, which was good, because my father-in-law was getting caught in the door at the skilled nursing place. It was not any fault of theirs. This one's wide so he can get his wheelchair there. It's got a shower room where they can have him take a shower with a chair. You don't necessarily need a whole lot of furniture in your room, because there are a lot of sitting areas outside. They have a beautiful courtyard that's locked in where we can take my father-in-law out without worrying if he's going to wander off. There are lots of bird feeders, which is nice, and there's even one right outside of his window. They have a little putting green that they can use. They give you a nice calendar of all the activities and things that you can go to. It's a very nice schedule (they just had a little concert). I also like that there are choices as far as their food. They bring out a cart of different options. There are two different entrees, and then you can choose your sides. I would recommend this place."

"I went to visit my aunt at Oakleaf Village of Columbus. I think it's a nice place. I am not sure if they watch everyone as well as I think they should. It seems that the food is good. She needs hearing aids, and her hearing aids have been lost. Whenever we pick her up, sometimes her hair is dirty and unkempt. Sometimes other people are wearing her shoes or clothes. They do a lot of different activities, which is nice. They bring in musicians and sing together. They have a nice Thanksgiving meal before COVID, which our family has enjoyed. Some staff members cared about her. The facility looks like a nice atmosphere. They have nice walls and a fireplace. We have gone into the little beauty area, washed her hair, and colored it one time. That's all they have, but you have to have money to pay for that. They have a little walkout area, but I've never seen her be able to use it. They have a garden area with some flowers, but I've never seen anyone out in the garden area. I like the setup where they all have to gather together in a dining area. It's an open system so you can see the TV."

"Creekside at the Village appeared to be comfortable and nice, and it's very appropriate for seniors. They had spacious one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units, and some come with a fireplace. It was a very nice community. They have activities like playing cards, bingo, and they have outings outside the community. The staff there was very helpful and very personable. Their dining area looked really clean and appropriate. Overall, it's a very clean and well-operated community. We were there to look at their assisted living level."

"I live a couple blocks from here, and we liked what we saw very much. They answered my questions just fine, and I think I may go there someday. It's quite a new facility -- only a couple years old -- so it's still quite nice. They had some trips, and they had rooms where individuals were playing some games and doing some puzzles. That had been my first choice primarily because I know some people there, and I'm familiar with the street this facility is in. "

"Springwood in Westerville was very quiet, very accessible, and clean. The staff seemed to be very accommodating. They have different trips that you can go on. They bus people to various places and they have a lot of activities onsite. They have all of the exercise types of things that you can use. The place that has the meals is right across the courtyard from the independent living. It's in the place for assisted living and you can take advantage of the meals there monthly."

"Harrison on 5th by Senior Star was really nice. I visited their independent living community, and I liked it. Everybody, even the chef, came out and introduced himself to me, and I thought that was very nice. The lady who toured us answered all my questions and introduced me to some other residents, with the idea that if I were living there, I would already have some girlfriends. That was extremely thoughtful and very nice. I had lunch there, and the food was very nice. The place itself was very nice and clean. It just had kind of a cold feeling and wasn't as welcoming as a couple of the other places I went to. It had a very sterile feel, or maybe it was just too modern, so I didn't feel at home. It didn't have that homey kind of feeling. It's like going to some fancy hotel in downtown Columbus, and that kind of turned me off."

"I really like the room that my father has. He came from a very nice home and I wanted him to keep the same quality of life style. Storypoint Pickerington was that and more. The quality of food is outstanding and the staff are all very caring. My brother and I spend quite a lot of time with our father there. The staff and the residents are our new family…. Our new home"

"Their rehab facility is clean. My sister has a semi-private room there now. She's getting some physical therapy and help her to get some balance. She has some issues with getting dizzy. The staff are friendly and nice. "

"I visited The Coventry Senior Living's assisted living facility for my wife. It's very clean, and the people really helped show everything and explain how it works. I like the place. They have 24-hour nurses, not really constantly with the help, but they check in on you for 24 hours. They have three shifts, which is very helpful for me because they're supposed to check her every time, in case something happens. I looked at a small studio. There's no big room, but it's fine. We don't need a big place anyway. Every day, I think after lunch, they play some bingo. On the weekends, I think somebody comes and plays live music. There were a lot of people there, and I think they were happy. All the interactions I had with the people there were really nice. I feel that the place is really comfortable for everybody."

"I would like to share my experiences with this location. My dad entered on 8/21/22. I am not an employee. My dad lived with me since 2005. In 2021 his care far exceeded what we were able to provide with home aids and ourselves. Plus, my home was not wheelchair accessible and this meant that my dad was now isolated from the outside world. I began to look for a better situation and Paramount was my first stop as it is the the closest to my home. I have been nothing but impressed with the level of care and communication I receive regarding my dad. I cannot comment on other posts that state that their loved one is in a cramped room because my dad has what is called a "studio" so it is his alone. Whenever I have had an issue or a concern it has been immediately dealt with (and my concerns have been about my dad - not the staff). From Angel at the front desk to Lori his nurse to all the aids that assist him all the way to Angie the director - I have been extremely pleased. My dad now has people he interacts with all day, meals prepared 3 times a day, all the snacks he could want, hygiene care (they have their own "beauty parlor" and physical therapy in their gym. The facility did recently take in many other patients from another facility that was closing but I think that this has made things more lively as there were only a few residents when my dad entered. This is on the more expensive side of the facilities that I looked at but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for - we do not get any assistance to cover costs. I appreciate that each case is different and you need to evaluate what the right level of care is for your loved one. I am happy with the one on one help that my dad has and all of the staff that attend to them. I am there every week, sometimes multiple times, and I have never witnessed anything that would make me concerned."

"We toured the assisted living section, and it was excellent. The community is very welcoming. The person who gave the tour was very thorough and very good at what she does. She gave a very warm feeling about the place. The room was very good, and the bathroom was very large. The activities were excellent. They have a wide variety, and they were very appealing."

"The staff at Danbury of Columbus is absolutely wonderful--all of them from the exec director to the people at the front desk, the chefs, the nurses , the activity people, the maintenance man, the PTs, and the people who take care of the residents. We are so happy that we found this place for our Mom to live. She enjoys the outings, bingo, the crafts, chair volleyball, movies and the special events like BBQs. She has met a number of residents that she enjoys spending time with. I can't emphasize enough how kind the people who work there are to the residents. The food is great too!"
