"I would have chosen Danbury Columbus for my friend because of the reception that we got when we went there. The staff that took us through that place was very knowledgeable. She spent a lot of time with us and she explained all the services that we really didn't know about that were available. She was just very detailed about answering all the questions that we had. They had occupational therapists on site. It was an older facility, so it's got some wear and tear but the people are the most important thing for us. There were several floors, so the elevators were large. The place was easy to navigate, and they had nice wide halls. The layout was very friendly and very open. I liked the fact that the dining rooms were right there in front, as soon as you walked in. So, you got a sense of community right away because there were people there. And another thing that I liked was that they don't have assigned seating in the dining room. "

"Brookdale Trillium Crossing was small, so it's not overwhelming for my grandmother. It's nice and clean. They had different church services. Housekeeping is part of their package, which is good. They take the residents out on trips, and they serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. "

"Our family is a great fan of this facility, where both of my parents lived for about 5 years. Top-notch care, friendly people, good food - just a very supportive and healthy environment. My parents were very happy here, and, so were we, knowing they were in great hands. "

"I was in Westerwood for rehab. It was close to friends and family. The staff was very good. It was very clean. They have activities, game activities, they take you outside, sometimes movies, and I was pleased with that. They had a patio and a courtyard. They had physical therapy there as well."

"The staff were very friendly, very clean. The apartments that I've seen were standard size. They have a one bedroom apartment. The place is located in an area of the city that is somewhat declining and it was too far away from my relatives. I think they had exercise, games, and movies. "

"Senior Star at Dublin Retirement Village was very nice. It wasn't too big or too small. We looked at two-bedrooms as well as two-bedroom-with-a-den apartments, and the bedrooms were a reasonable space, the closets were huge, and there was a lot of storage space. The staff who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable and helpful. We had lunch there and the food was very good. The dining room was very nice. We observed a couple of people having some physical therapy, as well as the tail end of a birthday celebration for people who have birthdays in May."

"The Forum at Knightsbridge seems friendly. It seems to have the services I'm looking for. The rooms were nice. Some of them, I think, even have balconies. I would give it a 5 rating just because of the nice attitude that I got when I was there. They were friendly. I like the staff there. The rooms are pretty much the same as everybody else's. I'm looking for a one-bedroom. One is 624 square feet, and the other is 585 square feet. I love my condo, and I don't want to leave, but my family thinks otherwise. I guess the rooms at The Forum is going to be spacious. It's going to be a transition, of course, but I guess I'm ready for it."

"I toured Verena at Hilliard. They're very neat, and they are a lovely facility. One thing I like is, that they have all these chairs outside for people to sit. It's nice and warm and it's just a beautiful interior. They have a bedroom and they have a living room. They're not furnished. So I had to take my own furniture, which is fine. They have a walk-in closet. They have a bathroom with a walk-in shower. They have a refrigerator."

"The staff at Stone Oak Retirement Resort was wonderful. They were very helpful and very nice. It's a new facility, but to me, it seemed very institutional. It's not very warm or homey and I thought the finishes in the apartments were standard, not high-end. They were just setting up for lunch and it appeared that they had quite a large selection as far as what you could eat. I thought that was a good part and the fact that all meals were included. They did not have a pool, but they had a few activities."

"The Coventry Senior Living was very pretty. It's only been there for 14 months so it was the newest with the biggest rooms and the most activities. I met the woman who gave me a tour, I met two nurses, the chef, the dining room supervisor, and the receptionist. All of them are very friendly. They stopped at the table where we were talking and chatted for a few minutes. All of them stopped, except the receptionist, because she had to stay in the lobby. I did not eat there but I talked to the chef. He said that they don't open cans and they don't freeze their vegetables. All of their vegetables are fresh. That's the only place where I got any information about food. I just don't know what it would cost for my cousin to go there, and that was the drawback. They were a little vague. They said they're willing to do an assessment, even if we haven't decided she's coming, like on FaceTime or something, because my cousin is not local. So, they said they could do a long-distance assessment, then they could tell us which level of care she would be in. If I were younger and had unlimited time, I could do all these assessments and find out exactly what it would cost everywhere, but I'm not younger. They've got a beautiful library and three dining rooms connected to each other. It's beautifully laid out. It's in a busy neighborhood, a construction zone, so I wouldn't give the neighborhood a high mark, but the facility is beautiful. There's a parking garage."

"I cannot say enough good things about StoryPoint Gahanna. The facility looks like a 5 Star Resort. The staff including management are all friendly, competent and caring; treat my husband like their family member. Food is very good; the soups and homemade desserts are especially good. Activities are plentiful. Music, card games, in-house theater nights, special events like Grandparents Day, Cinco de Mayo celebration, pool parties, ice cream socials, and many more are over-the-top for residents and their families. My husband, who didn’t want to move to assisted living but who needed to, is very happy with his life here. Making friends , having fun, eating good food in beautiful surroundings . I’m happy too and enjoy visiting with him nearly daily."

"My brother has moved into Rittenhouse Village Gahanna. He has been there for a little while now. We liked it and it's convenient to where we live. It's good. The room is very nice. The staff are good. Activities seem to be daily. They have a spa and a barber shop. It's expensive."
