The Best Assisted Living Communities in Warren County, OH

"We toured The Winfield at Middletown. They're a very nice place. I would move in there myself. We ask about the menu. We got to go down and see the cafeteria and take a tour of the entire facility. The rooms are nice. It's like having your own little apartment. You can furnish them with your own furniture, your own couch, recliner, whatever you want. They were spacious. Everything was very clean. They had a therapy room. The lady took us to a room and was so nice and explained everything about the facility, the pricing, and so forth, and what she had available. I wouldn't even call it a nursing home. It was immaculate. They're very reasonably priced too."

"My mom has moved into Garden Manor, which is right off a major highway. They have lots of parking. Garden Manor has large hallways and nice rooms. My mom is confined to a bed, so she has to have assistance getting dressed and being fed. It's a nursing home with an assisted living wing. My mom doesn't participate in activities; however, they have church, movie, bingo, and a group that likes to knit."

"I love the Traditions of Deerfield. I would go there in a second, but I can't afford it. They were very welcoming and almost bent over backward when we came in. I liked all their amenities. They have a nice gathering room for everyone to get together, and they have a nice library, an activity room, and a chapel. The rooms were very pleasant and the food was good. I liked everything about this community. They had a lot to offer. It would be nice if they could come down a little bit on the cost."

"One star for the owner of this place. When my husband was dying a former wonderful caregiver of my husband who my husband and the whole family loved wanted to come visit him but the owner would not allow her into the house! He had held a former disagreement against her and thus prevented my husband from seeing someone who cared about him from seeing him before he died. Remember I am paying money for my husband to live here. Secondly, after my husband came back from the hospital and was going to be under hospice care we found out a new resident had been accepted. This new resident was highly inappropriate for the house. She had serious mental health problems, was constantly shouting obscenities( several times in front of my grandchildren and also to a hospice worker) had a dog that was having accidents all over the house and she was allowed to smoke. All this was going on while my husband was dying. My husbands relatives wondered what kind of place we had my husband in. It was very bad. I would think twice about bringing a loved one here. "

"I toured Beehive Homes of Liberty Township. I liked the fact that they were small-scale. I felt like if I'd been there I could have gotten more one-on-one and more personal attention. It was a very clean facility. The staff was very caring. I have no experience with them, but just from what I observed, they seemed nice and caring."

"I was able to tour Provision Living at West Chester. It's a very beautiful facility, and it's very clean. The people there were really nice and attentive, they answered all our questions, and we had an extremely nice tour. The rooms were really nice, they were accommodating when I had indicated that I would rather have carpeting instead of flooring, if that was something that they'd do. They said that they would do what was needed. You'd have to bring your own microwave, there's not any in every single one of them. The laundry is down the hall, so there's not laundry in the unit itself, but it's spacious, and the ceilings are high. The people were very nice, and those who gave us the tour were extremely knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about it. The reason why I didn't choose this place was because it's an assisted living facility, and I just need independent living. One thing that they had which was wonderful and made it really hard for me to say no, was they have these infrared cameras in the units, in the rooms and bedrooms. So should somebody fall, it alerts the facility people, and they'd come to help you, so you don't have to wear a signal or anything. It's automatically monitoring you, but not monitoring you for what you're doing. They won't know who you are necessarily, but they have the capability of getting to you almost immediately should you need assistance. I received some phone calls prior to touring the facility, from the one who was running the place. It's a really small facility, there were only like 20 rooms. That for me is a little too small, because I want to make some friends. The food was very good."

"We toured Stoney Ridge Senior Living. It was the assisted living with the thought that my father would need memory care. It was really good. I liked it and I was hopeful that it would be a viable option. It seemed clean. The people seemed happy. The staff seemed very nice and welcoming. The room was a good size. I saw the dining area and common areas, and they all really looked nice."

"Magnolia Springs Loveland was really, really nice. I think it's the nicest one I've visited. It's a new facility, and they were all very friendly and very nice. The layout was very nice. The location was good. It was excellent; it was right in town. The facility was new and was perfect. I have a dog, and they do take dogs. The unit that I looked at had a covered patio, and that was very nice. The staff was very friendly and very nice."

"My dad has been in here for a month now. It is an assisted living, lockdown place. It is more like a home than an institution. It has a main shared living area in the center, and then on each side are five bedrooms. The place has two aides 24/7, and then during the day, there is an RN. They have a big kitchen, and they cook real food. Food smells great. My dad says it tastes great too. They cook from scratch. It is all about the patients there. It is really quite a nice comfortable place. This is a very warm family-oriented community. It is quite nice. I like it a lot. They are licensed for 12 residents. There is a patio which it is large, there is a small grassy area, and there is a covered porch. When the weather is nice, they can go out there. It is a memory unit, so you don't go wander the grounds. I like the place, and I like the staff. The place is new, so everything is new and clean. I found it to be priced more comfortably than the larger communities."

"My mother has a beautiful 2 bedroom apt with a balcony. She loves the activities and the live music provided. This community is vibrant and thriving unlike the previous facility where she used to live. She has lived at StoryPoint for a year now. One of the biggest plusses at the facility is the director, Liz. She interacts with the residents daily and exudes fun and positivity. I would reccomend StoryPoint to anyone with aging parents."

"I visited the independent living community of The Summit of Blue Ash, and I liked it a lot. It's just that their 1-bedroom with a den is not really a 1-bedroom with a den. It was more of a 1-bedroom with a small corner that you could do something in. It wasn't even a room, but just like a larger closet. My siblings are literally down the road from where the facility is, so it's convenient for all of them. I like that it's centrally located. The facility is brand-new, so it's nice inside. Meals are all included, but they have a full-size kitchen in the rooms. They also have room for a dining room table and a living room area. I would prefer to have their 2-bedroom apartment because I want an office that is also a sewing room, so that's what I need the second bedroom for. If my kids also come, I have a second bed that they can sleep in. Even though the facility provides an apartment-type thing that they could stay in, that's on a first-come, first-served basis, so if somebody else has it reserved at the same time, then one would get it, and one would not."

"It was homier, I think. It looked like a calm, comfortable place for someone to be. It was bright, open, and everybody was very friendly. Kyle was very professional and knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions and gave us the tour. He kind of showed us around and introduced us to everybody. He told us about their menu, their kitchen employees and their longevity, and all of that. The facility was very nice, very clean. The layout was nice, and they had pretty much everything that you would need. They had a nice outdoor patio setup with a lot of seating. It was decorated for fall, and it was very nice."

"Our visit with Brookdale Place was good. I liked the proximity of the place to us. It was very warm, inviting and very clean. The room size was adequate. They had a wide range of activities and their staff was very friendly. "

"Brookdale Springdale (Formerly Sterling House of Springdale) was a nice facility but it wasn't appropriate for my mother-in-law. It was more of an Alzheimer's type facility and she wasn't needing that type of care, but they were very warm, very friendly and helpful there. It was a locked down facility. Some rooms were apartment style but there were others that were more just like a room and they didn't have as many amenities. They did have areas where you could sit and visit but everything was on a smaller basis because there were fewer residents than the other one we visited. For a locked down facility, it seemed very nice. "
