I visited this facility

I went to StoryPoint Fairfield. The staff was phenomenal. They met me at the door, took me on a tour, and sat me down. We had lunch, we had a snack, we met a lot of the residents. They were very polite and very nice. I would have moved into the place in a heartbeat. My wife, though, was struggling with that. But that place is a little farther away from us, but it's a nice location. The cook went out of his way. I have a particular diet I go on and he gets it fixed in no time flat. It was just a wrap with some sides, but it was great. The staff was very nice, but as far as the location and the place, it was much farther out of the way than my wife would have wanted to go. And overall, it just wasn't a location I felt comfortable with.

Provider Response

I visited this facility

I toured StoryPoint Fairfield. The price was fair, but it wasn't the greatest. The apartments were small, which is why it's been taken off of our list. And when you move up to the second bedroom level, then it starts to become pricey. The quality of the facility itself and the staff were outstanding. Physically, the units just didn't meet our needs. The two-bedroom was going to be too expensive. From the quality standpoint, we thought it was wonderful, like the quality of all the amenities and everything there. The staff went out of their way to engage with us. You name it, they had so many amenities, including massage, a hair salon, activities, laundry, cleaning services, cable, and WiFi.

Provider Response

Hi Michael, Thank you for your visit to our community! We understand that pricing is a huge factor when choosing a community for you or your loved one, and our pricing is determined by many factors. We would like to reconnect with you to answer any additional questions you have. Please call our community and ask to speak with our Community Specialist. Thank you

I visited this facility

My sister-in-law will be moving into StoryPoint Fairfield. The girl who showed me through was very informative. The place was new. It was very clean. They had everything that we were looking for as far as assisted living. I think it'll be a good fit for my sister-in-law. Everything looked awesome. The room has a full refrigerator and a big, nice bathroom. My sister-in-law is going to go into a studio, and it's big enough for all the things that she needs to take in there. The room is nice. It's got a little kitchenette. They had some nice enclosed patios. The building surrounded it, so the residents couldn't wander off or anything, which was very nice.

Provider Response

Hi Kathy, Thank you for visiting our community! We are so excited to welcome your sister into StoryPoint Fairfield. Have a great day.

I visited this facility

StoryPoint Fairfield was newer and very inviting. It looked like a country club. They offer quite a few more amenities than the other facilities that we viewed. They have a bistro, a coffee shop, daily entertainment, transportation, and a pharmacy. The facility was just bright and clean. The staff and the director were just outstanding, very personable, and accommodating. The staff was amazing. He handled all the emotions of leaving your home and moving into an independent living situation. The administrator handled the paperwork quickly and thoroughly. The food tasted delicious. The residents seemed very happy.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

After a pretty rough illness, we decided to find a community for my dad. I live in Houston TX and needed to find a place I could trust and give me the piece of mind that he’d be cared for. We chose StoryPoint Fairfield and to be honest…he was not very pleased w/ the move. However, that soon changed. About a week after we moved him in Covid hit and the lockdowns started and it “made” him fend for himself so to speak. In finding his new “routine,” our dad THRIVED! He made new friends, played pool every day, poker three nights a week, BINGO, lots of group activities, and most importantly, had dinner w/ other residents every evening instead of alone. They even had Fox19 broadcast a “Tailgate Party” when the Bengals went to the Super Bowl w/ many of the members being interviewed on live TV…it was a blast. His friendships weren’t limited to the other folks who lived there. The member of the staff are kind, caring, attentive, and loving. They have truly become our extended family members. Living so far away, I can simply call or text members of his StoryPoint family if I have questions or he needs help w/ something. Our dad recently had a stint in the hospital, then a skilled nursing facility, members of the staff came to visit him numerous times, delivering cheer and food. They even arranged for some of the other residents to visit him. StoryPoint Fairfield has been a blessing to my dad. I know it’s a hard decision to make, and making one that benefits your loved ones by allowing for their independence, while keeping them safe, and in a fun environment is very important to your piece of mind. In my opinion, StoryPoint Fairfield can’t be beat. By all means, do your due diligence. I simply suggest you visit StoryPoint first, then hold all the other places to their standards…you won’t be disappointed.

My mom was 100% completely adverse to living in a community after my dad passed away. She has very high standards, and we were nervous about her adjustment, especially with her advancing dementia. To our surprise she adjusted great snd is very pleased with the amenities, the spaciousness of her room, the staff, the cleanliness, activities, especially the music and the well kept grounds she even raves about the food, which is a surprise since she’s very critical when it comes to prepared food. The staff is very willing to listen if you have a concern, and are very warm and caring. They go the extra mile for families! We’ve even held private parties there for family and friends. The staff is so accommodating! We liked Storypoint so much, that when it was time to place my husband in care for Alzheimer’s , we chose them! It took him a few weeks to adjust but now he adores his StoryPoint family. It makes it easier knowing he’s in caring hands.

I visited this facility

We visited StoryPoint Fairfield's independent living a couple of weeks ago. The facility was clean and well-kept, and the staff appeared to be very friendly and very welcoming. The food was very tasty. They have a library, they have activities in the main area, a restaurant like a bistro, and a coffee shop. We looked at one of the larger rooms, and we loved it. It was very roomy and spacious, and it would very adequately support someone.

My mother has a beautiful 2 bedroom apt with a balcony. She loves the activities and the live music provided. This community is vibrant and thriving unlike the previous facility where she used to live. She has lived at StoryPoint for a year now. One of the biggest plusses at the facility is the director, Liz. She interacts with the residents daily and exudes fun and positivity. I would reccomend StoryPoint to anyone with aging parents.

Overall. Storypoint is a wonderful community. The activities are always well planned and coordinated and the staff is always helpful and kind. The only complaint I’ve ever heard is regarding the dining. The length of time that it takes to get meals and be quite long and the food doesn’t always appeal to the one’s looking for just basic meals. I’m told that the meals seem to be focused more for fine dining rather than just basic dinners ie meat and potatoes. This is always just personal preference and overall the food is very good.

My mom is currently in StoryPoint Fairfield assisted living. They have had a lot of staff issues since they've been there. There's a constant change in people who are obviously frustrated or whatever else with their job. The place is nice, but it's been a constant turnover of staff, even the upper management are all gone. The transport team who takes you someplace if you can't walk, like my mom, whoever drives the van quit right after they moved in and they've never hired anybody else. It's been a battle since they've been there. They like the food, it's pretty nice, and they said they had really good food. The people that come up and physically take care of them are nice people. Most of them are younger, nice people, but the management has been an issue.

Provider Response

Hello Doug, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of our community. We agree that the pandemic has made staffing our community more challenging, as we have extremely high standards. We have been searching for a bus driver and are committed to finding the best person for the job. In the meantime, we have a service to get our residents to their doctor appointments. Please reach out to our Executive Director to learn more and to discuss any other concerns. Thank you!

StoryPoint Fairfield was very lovely. I like this place the best. But they didn't accept the waiver for Medicaid. It was a beautiful place. The staff members were very nice, especially the guy who took us around. He was very helpful. I liked that it was very clean and very well-organized. The only thing I didn't like was that it wasn't a homey feeling. It was more like a hotel. They have a salon. They didn't have a chapel.

I visited this facility

StoryPoint Fairfield is a premier facility with all the amenities that anyone could ask for. It is very, very well appointed. It is extremely beautiful inside and out. The grounds are well-kept. The outside amenities are there for the pleasure of the residents. The dining room is equivalent to the finest restaurant that I have been in. The facility staff members are very pleasant, very knowledgeable, and very friendly. After the tour, my wife and I decided that if and when we decide to move into a senior village, this would be the one for us. They have full-size new kitchen appliances. The living area has sliding glass doors out to a private patio and a large yard area. The bedroom has a huge window, and it's very well laid out. They have huge closets with lots of storage and extra storage lockers available down the hall. They have well-appointed bathrooms with a large area for a wheelchair and walk-in shower. Each apartment is individually controlled for heat and AC. It's well-lit. They even have a pantry for the kitchen. It's very high on our list of facilities that we considered. Their daily menus that we looked at, and we had a hard copy, are phenomenal, so the food preparation and presentation is absolutely a five.

StoryPoint was my mothers first choice when it was time to go into Independent Living. She liked that it was brand new (as she has standards). The facility is lovely, and the staff has been kind and caring during what has been such a hard time to be in healthcare. My mother lived alone the last 15+ years and never really went out. I have been excited (and honestly surprised) to hear her talk about doing activities and making friends. Despite her potentally prickly personality, they have been great to her. Really happy on the choice we made to go with StoryPoint. I have been given peace of mind knowing my mother is safe.

This facility is the best we found from our 2 week search. I feel like the care my brother is getting there is the best we could have found!!!!!! The facility is like new, and everything is beautiful there. Everyone on the Staff is always friendly and very outgoing to keep the family informed and up to date and very nice. The caregivers there are always understanding , patient and courteous, that we could only wish for.....They are the best!

My grandmother moved into StoryPoint Fairfield. It's very clean, very nice, and everyone is very friendly. Her apartment is very spacious. We're able to fit everything that she wanted of her furniture in there. I only helped her move in; I wasn't there for very long. It's clean, well maintained and very nice. I had a sandwich in there and it was very good. She was confused with her first meal but she also has Alzheimer's. The courtyard was beautiful, and it was very easy for my grandma to get to. There are benches and some seating areas. It was very pretty. Security is very good. That's one reason that we chose that one because it gave her freedom, but they are also very protective of her.

My mom moved to StoryPoint Fairfield, and the reason we chose it is the staff and the residents have been vaccinated with both shots. It's a small setting; they only take twenty residents. It's a newer building so their apartments have twelve-foot ceilings. The apartments are big and appear to be roomy. The staff members -- from the maintenance staff to the cafeteria workers to the caregivers -- all talk to the residents, and they are very polite to everyone. There is a nurse on duty 24/7, and there is a full-time wellness director. They have a daily activities director who does three activities per day. They normally have a separate kitchen and dining room for the memory care. Their chef either resigned or got fired, so they are sharing the other dining facility right now. Because of that the food service is not up to par quite yet.

Our mother, who will soon be 91 years of age, has been a resident at Story Point 's memory care facility for approximately five months. In the time she has been there , we have all noticed a marked improvement in all facets of her personality, also in her appearance and demeanor. She now says, and I quote, "Thank you for bringing me here." Yes, the facility is beautiful, the activities are stimulating, the food is amazing,( so she says), and the staff is very caring and professional. But , as they say, " the proof is in the pudding ". Even though it was a difficult decision to make, and one that she was quite resistant to at the time, we all see the proof in her bright smile, that tells us we made the right decision in Story Point. We now say, "Thank you Story Point.!"

I just wanted to say how caring and helpful StoryPoint was while my father was living there. His health was declining and hospice did have to come in eventually. All the staff was so accommodating and dad loved living there. It truly was his new home and he always looked forward to coming back to his apartment after his hospitalizations. He was able to still keep a little of his independence with the help of assistance from their care plans.

I visited this facility

We did an in-person tour of StoryPoint Fairfield, but we were only able to see an independent living apartment. It was restricted because of COVID. We kind of got an idea of what an apartment would look like. It's very nice and the people were super nice. The grounds and the building were very nice. I didn't get to go all around or walk all around the outside and see everything, but it was a very nice place. The tour was very good, very informative, and the staff provided a lot of information. We talked to two people in the lobby and they were very friendly. The woman in charge answered all our questions, and she was very friendly, understanding, and offered her assistance with everything. It was newly opened and it was very well kept.

My 91 year old father moved into StoryPoint a few months ago, right after it opened. The facility itself is lovely. The common areas and dining room are spacious and welcoming. My father was able to get one of the larger 2 bedroom apartments and loves it there. He's made several new friends that he eats dinner with every evening. The food is tasty and prepared to order. I have been very pleased with the staff. Everyone has been so considerate, caring and friendly. The senior staff greet him whenever they see him and have worked to draw him into activities. In the times I've had meals with him there, they stop by the table to talk. The assistance with getting a microwave installed and just setting up his apartment after the move was great. In addition to dinner everyday, the rent also covers bi-weekly housekeeping among other things. Also available is additional assistance if needed. For instance, a physical therapist visits my father, and since he doesn't want to change the bed himself, he's able to get someone to do that for a small extra fee.

Mom made the decision to try community living and she loves it at Story Point. Just as important as that is that her children love it! She lives independently but it's so nice to know people are checking on her when necessary. She has made new friends and enjoys the activities that go on. The team at story point are always engaged with the residence. On a scale of 1 to 10 this place is a 10! Oh, don't forget about the food... It is amazing. Chef Joel introduces the residence to all kinds of new foods. But everything is so excellently prepared.

StoryPoint Fairfield is the best Senior Living Facility that I have ever visited! It is bright, modern, and beautiful! It looks like a hotel lobby on the inside, and that beauty continues into the resident apartments! Every staff member I have met is friendly, helpful, and always has a smile on their face! From housekeeping to kitchen staff and servers to the office staff, they all take the time to get to know the residents and the residents’ families. My grandfather never wanted to move into a retirement home, but got lonely after my grandmother passed away. But StoryPoint is not a retirement home, it is a senior living community. My grandfather loved StoryPoint as soon as he took a tour and couldn’t wait to move in! He is more happy now than I have seen him in a long time! He has gone from sitting in a big, empty, dark house to being in an bright, friendly, and loving environment that has him actively living his life again! He loves the staff, food, and activities! There is a full kitchen in his apartment, but the food is so good that he hasn’t been using it. He now has a two bedroom apartment that is just the right size for him, and the interactions with others that he thrives on! There is a bus that takes him shopping, on outings, and to doctor’s appointments so he no longer has the need to drive. There are educational presentations, movies, and game nights for the residents and available for the families to attend as well. My grandfather loves the chance to invite me over now to attend activities with him! I would highly recommend this facility to anyone that is looking for a place to live out the next phase of their life. StoryPoint Fairfield is not a place for the end of life, it is a place where life continues!

This facility is a lifesaver for our widowed father who was becoming lonely after mother's passing. There is LIFE at StoryPoint! Smiles and laughter occur everywhere throughout the day. Always someone available for Dad to talk with and he's made many friends! Plenty of activities: some educational, some social mingling, some just plain fun! They stimulate Dad's mind and keep him young! The food is excellent as prepared by Chef Joel. Dinner is a wonderful social as well as culinary experience. Worship services held weekly. Shuttle bus to shopping, appointments, and outings. Special events frequently held! Every staff member is friendly, supportive, and there to meet Dad's needs. Spacious, bright rooms in a beautiful building. Cleaning services, health services, laundry services . . . and Dad is safe and secure with the monitoring that's in place. Our worries have diminished greatly since he's moved in. And best of all, he is so happy at StoryPoint. This facility has greatly exceeded our expectations.

My mother was very resistant to leave her home at 91. Once she moved into Storypoint it changed her life. It is not the normal senior living facility. It is beautiful and the staff and care she receives is second to none. I highly recommendStoryPoint without reservation. You will not be disappointed !

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My 86 year old mother moved to StoryPoint upon its opening in December. From Sarah, the very first person we met the previous summer, to Jamie, Corey, Michaela, Chef Joel, Kelly and the entire staff, we couldn’t be happier. Their love and attentiveness to the residents warms my heart. My mom is happier and more active than she has been in years. I love seeing her blossom socially at her age. I haven’t seen her without a smile on her face for weeks. Her apartment is the perfect size, luxurious and is safety equipped. It’s smartly appointed, and perfectly clean. The walk in shower and heat lamp in the bathroom were a game changer for my mom! She loves it! Honestly, I was very nervous and skeptical about this move. I was afraid she would isolate and not be happy. How wrong I was! The staff recruit the residents to participate in the fun activities (tastings, live music, movies, outings, lectures, arts and crafts to name a few) and encourage social interaction. It was no time at all before my mom had several friends, who she really enjoys spending time with. Dinners are a real treat for all, including family if you chose. Chef Joel creates delicious and beautiful food, and never fails to personally make sure everyone is enjoying their meal. From a family member perspective, I always feel welcome. The staff know my name, and my families names. If I have a question or concern, it is addressed quickly, personally and professionally. Everything is explained in detail, and I feel certain that I would be immediately notified should any problems arise. In a nutshell, I am so glad we made the decision to go with StoryPoint. I trust them with my mom. That’s a big statement, but it’s true. Her happiness, and comfort are so genuine I couldn’t possibly feel otherwise.
