"We are having a great experience in this memory care. My mother is so happy here . I never knew this side of her. Mom is so social now she tells me she doesn't want to go home to visit's with me. The staff are wonderful they make it look so easy. I know how hard it is though, and appreciate their dedication to making things easier for our family."

"I toured Sonesta Apartment Homes. If you're looking for something that's fully furnished, it's okay. It's good, but I wasn't looking for something that was fully furnished. Then the cost per month was too high. The manager was good, the only one that I ever contacted. She was helpful. The facility was good. It was pretty clean."

"The Wellington at Dayton was very pretty and very nicely maintained. They have full kitchens in their little apartments. They also have two-bedroom, two-bath apartments. They have walk-in closets and stackable washer and dryers. If you want to do your own laundry, they have them in the larger apartments. Some of the apartments have little balconies. They have field trips, movies, bingo, and games. They have a transportation program if you need to be taken to a doctor and things like that. It was clean, nice, and well appointed. I have a friend who has an uncle that lives there and she told me that he is very happy there."

"My sister-in-law will be moving into StoryPoint Fairfield. The girl who showed me through was very informative. The place was new. It was very clean. They had everything that we were looking for as far as assisted living. I think it'll be a good fit for my sister-in-law. Everything looked awesome. The room has a full refrigerator and a big, nice bathroom. My sister-in-law is going to go into a studio, and it's big enough for all the things that she needs to take in there. The room is nice. It's got a little kitchenette. They had some nice enclosed patios. The building surrounded it, so the residents couldn't wander off or anything, which was very nice."

"I've been a resident of Pinebrook of Milford for two years now. My experience is pleasant. The facilities here are great. I don't have any problems, and they seem to take care of most everything I ask for. They provide three meals a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So far everybody I have encountered has been knowledgeable, helpful and easy to get along with. There is a little exercise room and a beauty salon that's independently owned. You can walk around the building to get exercise or the little exercise room that they have provides different pieces of equipment. They provide transportation but you have to let them know ahead of time. You can't hit them with it at the last minute, but most of the time they're accommodating. Today we have a fair of sorts. People have made lots of seasonal decorations and they're selling them. We have somebody giving away apples and oranges. Every Friday, there's happy hour and they try to have someone singing or providing music. They have movies, bingo, volleyball, and entertainment. We've had choirs sing, which was fun. We have church every Sunday or the availability of a Catholic minister that can help with the Catholic people. They have nursing available if you have a question or need some help with something. They do blood pressure regularly, which is good. The service in the dining rooms can be very slow and they need to hire more people, but that's not their fault. They just can't find more people to hire. We've lost a lot of our servers. Most of them are pretty good people though. We have three different dining rooms that they have to cover. One is the main dining room, which I eat in then there's one in memory care, which I don't eat in, and then there's one on the second floor that is upstairs and they don't exactly have a full load of food up there. It's not quite as nice as what's downstairs on the first floor. We go to some really nice restaurants. It is very expensive to live here, however, when you consider taking care of me and feeding me, I think value for the money is probably a five, but I can't compare it with anybody else. I wish the food was better. This place is not perfect, but it is very nice. I live here very nicely. I understand what I can and what I cannot do. They probably have a lot of assisted living people living here with the independent people, which is very confusing to me and then you have probably on the average people dying rather regularly because they're old and have a medical problem. So that's a drawback. This is not a place to come if people that are dying upset you. Communication is always difficult when you have as many people as we do in a building like this."

"We went to Brookdale Kettering. It was nice. It had a lot of perks or pluses to it. My friend is not sure of the location yet because her son lives in Centreville and she wants to be close to him. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable. They answered our questions. The facility itself was very nice, clean, modern, and roomy. It had a nice screened-patio and that was all pluses. There seemed to be a lot of amenities and they seemed to be convenient."

"My mother-in-law was in Traditions at Camargo. It was fantastic. She started out independent, and then went to the highest amount of assisted living that they had. It's a beautiful facility. Everything is new, and it's in excellent shape. The staff there is very nice, and she received excellent care. They have their own chef, and the food is fantastic. They have regular outings, live music, a daily happy hour, and a library."

"My mother is a resident of The Village at Eastgate. They were very clean and very orderly. They had it designed for people who have to use a walker like her; it's way better. They bill themselves as independent living, but for more money, you can have people come in and check and bring her food and stuff. So, she's assisted living there. The people are very nice to my mom. They do like older people. It fits what she needs right now. The part is, if she falls one more time, she's going to have to go to a much more stepped-up care than they provide there. So, as long as we don't have another injury, we're fine. The care is very prompt and up. If she calls, they come immediately. They're prompt and pleasant. They're very well trained because when she fell and broke her leg, she said, "Help me get up." They said, "No, you must stay in that spot until the paramedics get here." So, they're well trained, and not just doing what people tell them, on taking control of the situation. They have games, and they have a special dinner program once a month. They have a recreation room, and church services and they have people come in that play music and give shows. My mom's been there for seven or eight years and she likes it. She just didn't know, that if she has to go to a stepped-up level of care, that's not what they are equipped for. It's been a good 7 or 8 years. I give the food that rating, because the problem is being that my mom came from a background where you spice your food, and they don't spice food in these places. It's not as nice as the other facilities were; it's older but it's well-kept and well maintained. They have exercise, yoga instruction, church services, people come in and play music and they have special meals. For the money, it's great."

"Ohio Living Llanfair was extremely nice but not upscale. The people were very helpful and gave me every bit of information that I needed. It's a place that you have to apply to because if you have too much money, they won't take you. It’s a very structured place that offered all the facilities that I felt were necessary for the long-term for my parents. They had a one-bedroom and studio, three meals a day and buffets for lunch; dinner and breakfast were ordered off of a menu. The apartments were nice but small. The cost including the assistance was a better value. It wasn't as nice and fancy of a place, but it had everything I felt my parents needed to live out their lives. They had people on staff 24 hours a day for any type of assistance that any of the residents need."

"Atria Northgate Park was a beautiful facility. I would have put my parents there in a minute, but it wasn’t the right layout nor the right size for them since they did not have a two-bedroom. They had activities throughout the day and the week. They had a beauty salon and a post office. They made sure that the residents got out with transportation to the grocery store, doctor, and shopping centers. They had a really nice dining room and a nice living arrangement, so if people wanted to be out of their room, they had sitting rooms that looked homey throughout the facility. All the rooms were laid out very nicely. They had options for layout so you could choose a studio or a suite or a deluxe suite. They all had patios. All of the apartments were on the main level, so there were no stairs. They had very wide hallways, so there’s no problem using a scooter or a walker to get around. The staff I met was very nice. The community was nicely maintained and had nice amenities. It was almost like a small city under a roof. "

"Stay away from this facility! Staff is lazy, untrained and uncaring. Residents hygiene is not attended to, laundry is rarely done and any request is ignored. Staff is not responsive and is full of excuses. I am very frustrated with this facility."

"My brother is staying at Blue Rock Senior Living. There are very few residents there. My brother said the food is just tolerable. He says sometimes it's not that good, but he gets plenty of food. The room is very small, but he's making the best of it. I think they keep it very clean. The TV system that they have is Roku, so my brother cannot watch any Reds or Bengals games on his TV, and that's probably the biggest improvement they could make. There's one lady there who's been very helpful to him. She helped him set up his computer and other things. They do my brother's laundry once a week. They clean his room once a week. They have a stairlift, but it's very slow. Their courtyard and patio are very good. They have a very small library, so my brother goes to the public library."

"Words just cannot express the gratitude that our family has for each and everyone of you at Grace Brethren Village for taking care of mom these last 4 years. We feel so lucky to have placed her in your loving care. We always knew she was taken care of and treated like family there. The special things that the aides as well as the kitchen staff and the nurses did to make mom happy were above and beyond our expectations. Thank you all so much!"

"When my mother-in-law got very sick, she was moved to Mount Pleasant Retirement Village. My sister-in-law and my wife were very pleased. They followed up, they kept them both comfortable and well informed about what was happening. They were just excellent. I would highly recommend them to others. "
