"Aaron's Garden Senior Living & Memory Care was beautiful. It was great. There was nothing wrong with the community, but we wanted a single apartment for my father. We did not want a bedroom where he would walk out into the hallway. It was a beautiful setup. He loved it as far as if he was at that point to go there at a different time, yes, but not at this stage in his life. The people during the tour were very pleasant. It's very clean. The common areas were very pleasant."

"This is a beautiful, wonderful, modern facility, very clean, very attentive and well trained, and they were very good at guiding us through the process of moving from assisted-living to nursing care to hospice care. Mom passed very peacefully in October of 2023 in their care along with the hospice provider. They were so good to my mother, and so good to all of my family throughout her stay there. I just can't say enough good things about Traditions Of Lebanon."

"Otterbein Lebanon has everything we could possibly want and takes Medicare and Medicaid. The place is unbelievable, and my relatives are just so happy. It has four dining areas and huge, nice bedrooms. It is super clean and so big. "

"I'm going to be a resident of StoryPoint West Milton. It's the biggest place for the money. It's the nicest, and it is relatively new, but it's gonna be expanding. This is a nice two-bedroom, two-bath cottage. They don't provide meals, but they have a meal plan, which will work out great. I like the people I've met so far. I have to have a garage because I still have a wood workshop, and they have a really nice, beautiful two-car garage. It's just great. They're all expensive, and this is not the most expensive one I looked at. It's still, no matter what, going to be hard to afford, but I think I can do it. The staff who gave the tour was wonderful. They get together once a month for movie night or barbecues, they have a rec center, and they have entertainment. It's kind of in their country, which is what I prefer. I don't like living in the city. I'm going to talk to them about possibly letting me have a small garden, and I can share my vegetables with the kitchen. The cottages are separate. They were built kind of like a star. There are four cottages that connect with the garages, and we're set off by ourselves. We have our own little patio and everything. The main building is about four blocks away. They have an exercise room, an activity center, and activities. They're more geared to the people living in that particular building, but we can attend them if we wish. I met five of the staff. They were friendly and answered the questions I had. They were concerned about my concerns. They were great. They will not provide meals, but I can buy a meal ticket, which is quite reasonable. You buy a package. It's 10 meals for $90, and if you buy the package, they give you five more meals. So for $90, it'd be 14 meals. I don't have to eat there every day. I can eat only at breakfast, at lunch, or at dinner, or all three meals. I can use them as I want, and the food smelled great."

"Barrington of West Chester was okay. The tour experience was positive. The staff members are great, particularly the president of the organization. The apartments were okay. We looked at one-bedrooms. They have several activities. They have a good restaurant and good activities. They have a number of trips and those sorts of things that are free to the residents. The people were pretty friendly. The game places and stuff like that were nice."

"I toured Beehive Homes of Liberty Township. I liked the fact that they were small-scale. I felt like if I'd been there I could have gotten more one-on-one and more personal attention. It was a very clean facility. The staff was very caring. I have no experience with them, but just from what I observed, they seemed nice and caring."

"The staff is very engaged with the residents. They KNOW each resident. Every member of the staff has been kind, caring and helpful. Sometimes they will go above and beyond to see that residents are happy. There are a wide array of activities for residents and their families to enjoy."

"My mom has moved into Traditions of Deerfield in Loveland, and she's been there for a month now. It's a very nice place and she feels safer. She gets a lot of the necessary attention she needs and she seems to be pretty content. Her room is a pretty good size, it's a studio and it's pretty big. She has a big size bathroom. A lot of others we saw were pretty small and the showers were very narrow but hers are wide and easy to get in and out and to accommodate handicaps. They're very attentive to her. She seems to be satisfied with the food and she has good choices, too. She likes it pretty well. They're very personable and professional. We get calls if there's any concern, and they keep the family informed. They have a lot to offer to residents when it comes to activities. These places are expensive wherever you go but I'd say this place is worth it. It's very wide open and it's secured too."

"We went to Deerfield Springs Retirement Community and we liked it the most. The staff was great. Everything about it was great. The rooms were pretty large. It was a resort-type setting. They try to make it feel like you're on a cruise ship and I felt that way. Not many grounds there though. They have a lot of activities, but there wasn't much going on when we went there. They've got a movie theater, and some of the residents just went ziplining earlier in the week. It's a brand-new facility, so everything is pretty current and updated."

"This facility is a lifesaver for our widowed father who was becoming lonely after mother's passing. There is LIFE at StoryPoint! Smiles and laughter occur everywhere throughout the day. Always someone available for Dad to talk with and he's made many friends! Plenty of activities: some educational, some social mingling, some just plain fun! They stimulate Dad's mind and keep him young! The food is excellent as prepared by Chef Joel. Dinner is a wonderful social as well as culinary experience. Worship services held weekly. Shuttle bus to shopping, appointments, and outings. Special events frequently held! Every staff member is friendly, supportive, and there to meet Dad's needs. Spacious, bright rooms in a beautiful building. Cleaning services, health services, laundry services . . . and Dad is safe and secure with the monitoring that's in place. Our worries have diminished greatly since he's moved in. And best of all, he is so happy at StoryPoint. This facility has greatly exceeded our expectations."

"My sister is in Silverfern Cincinnati North. We chose it because it had everything included, so that's utilities, cable TV, and internet access. She got two meals a day included too. It encompasses all of her normal expenses. It's fairly new for us, but we're pretty happy there. The size of the rooms is fine. It's a very nice facility. They have a nice dining room, a nice lobby area, and an indoor pool. All of it is well maintained. They have a workout room, a movie room where they do movie nights, and a pottery room where people can go and paint pottery and do art. They also have a general art room and a game room where they have the typical card games and dominoes and that kind of stuff. They have a nice outdoor enclosed area where they have a fire pit, some chairs, and covered picnic tables and stuff. You can go outside that, and there is also a walking trail around it. It's open for pets. My sister likes dogs, so she can go out there and sit and have the dogs come up to her. So, it's nice for her to have some exposure without having to have her own pet that she has to take care of. The staff members have been so far very helpful. Their maintenance guys came in and helped us get stuff set up. One of the maintenance guys fixed her walker. The staff that does the program seems very nice. The dining staff is good. My sister likes the folks there. I haven't heard her say anything negative about anyone there. It's always been pretty positive. They have art classes, exercise classes, big ball yoga and stuff like that. They have popcorn on movie nights. They have party things where they go outside and enjoy the great outdoors. They have a virtual reality room where you can go and play video games. They have a small library, but it's not like a public library with hundreds and hundreds of books."

"We went to One Lincoln Park, which is a 5-star place. Everything is just fine. It’s a very nice place and very close to my son’s house. They’re all very nice here. They’re completely re-doing the place with all new paint, counters, linoleum, and rugs. The place will be very, very nice. It’s 844 square feet and very pleasant. Everything is very much to my liking there. The apartment that I have is within a few feet from the door that leads straight to the parking lot where my car is. They have a valet service for parking and chauffeuring to the grocery store all included in the price. It’s all very nice. "

"I toured Bethany Lutheran Village for my friend. It's lovely. It's accommodating. It has lots of activities. It has a lot of levels of care. It is also a buy-in community. So there's a buy-in or an annuity that you have to put down, which is okay, and it's much more reasonable than the places in Orange County for the services, but you don't age in place there. So you buy in at one level and then they care for you on the continuum. You buy an independent, then you go to assisted living, then you would go to nursing care. Annie was really good. She was helpful. I didn't eat in the dining area, but they have a café, and I've eaten there. The food was really good, and there was lots of variety."

"Walnut Creek Campus assisted living was like the Marriott. It looked so different than the nursing home part. My husband was in the nursing home part, which was all right, but he had a problem with some of the workers who weren't very nice. It's like day and night. They had a piano in the dining hall, and it had crystal glasses and linen napkins. The only problem I had was you have to have money to be in their assisted living. It's a beautiful facility. They had concert grounds, and at each cubicle they had pictures of the resident's family members. They had people watching things in their theater room."
