"We were quite pleased with Brookdale Oakwood. The lady who assisted us was very nice, she took time to take us around, and we got all the information that we were looking for. We also got copies of the entrance paperwork and prices. The community wasn't very old. It was in good shape and appeared to be well taken care of. It's not really a huge facility. They have a little bistro or ice cream shop, it's a gathering place for them. The place was well-appointed."

"We had a very nice tour at Traditions of Beavercreek. We really like the lady we interacted with. We got to see their freestanding homes, and they were nice, but they were smaller than we were looking for. The lady who gave the tour was great. Their dining area looked very nice. People seemed to be enjoying their food and their time together there. The amenities were pretty much standard between the places we looked at. They had all the amenities: the outside care and beautiful landscaping. They also took care of snow removal and things like that."

"10 Wilmington Place was wonderful. I would recommend them highly to people. They have exercise equipment. They have good-sized rooms. The place is beautiful. Delores was wonderful to work with. I felt bad telling her I wasn't going to live there. She was great. She was the one who gave us the tour. The building is beautiful. It's a very, very old building, but they gathered it and re-did it all. The rooms are gorgeous. The first one we visited, the windows were so high, if I stood on my tippy toes, I couldn't see. But the second room was nice. They have all sorts of activities going on. They also have a theater and Wii bowling. I was impressed. I was all set to sign up to live there and my daughter said, 'Why don't we just check out the other place.' I decided to check it out and then I changed my mind. The rooms were very nice. The dining room was huge. They had tablecloths with cloth napkins and flowers on every table. The rooms were spacious. They had a bathroom with plenty of handlebars to hang on to if you needed that assistance, which I do. I was impressed with the whole place. "

"We went for a tour at The Inn at Renaissance Village and the thing that stood out most about the facility is that the residents looked very happy and the staff interaction was really good. My mom likes it and she is moving in next week. The facility is also very clean. They got lots of things going on. Every time we visit there, the residents are all very busy. "

"Traditions of Lebanon is a lot nicer than the other place. I am kind of considering it. It's a smaller community, but it basically has everything you need. It is like a neighborhood or like suburbia with independent quarters, but they are like condos, and you are renting the space. One of the best parts is that they have attached garages, minimal kitchens, and nice little patios. They have a community clubhouse, and then they have the main building where you would go for meals and stuff if you want to. They charge extra for the meals, though. I think there were many meals a week included with your rental, and then you could add more meals if you wanted. The community was all walkable. They had nice sidewalks around the area. They even had a garden area, which was kind of nice. The only discount to that would be that they didn't have additional levels of living. It was strictly independent. I don't remember being totally impressed with the dining area, but it was nice. They occasionally have barbecues and things like that, and they have a nice gathering area there, too."

"I recently called and spoke with the most sweetest and kindest woman. Vicki . I called to inquire about the memory care unit for my dad. The following day, she called me back with new information she had just received from a networking breakfast. Not knowing me, or my family Situation, she raised questions at this event on my behalf. She quickly shared very useful information within hours of herself receiving it. I can’t say enough good things about Vicki. Anyone working with her will be in amazing hands. She’s a walking Angel."

"We toured The Winfield at Middletown. They're a very nice place. I would move in there myself. We ask about the menu. We got to go down and see the cafeteria and take a tour of the entire facility. The rooms are nice. It's like having your own little apartment. You can furnish them with your own furniture, your own couch, recliner, whatever you want. They were spacious. Everything was very clean. They had a therapy room. The lady took us to a room and was so nice and explained everything about the facility, the pricing, and so forth, and what she had available. I wouldn't even call it a nursing home. It was immaculate. They're very reasonably priced too."

"Aaron's Garden Senior Living & Memory Care was beautiful. It was great. There was nothing wrong with the community, but we wanted a single apartment for my father. We did not want a bedroom where he would walk out into the hallway. It was a beautiful setup. He loved it as far as if he was at that point to go there at a different time, yes, but not at this stage in his life. The people during the tour were very pleasant. It's very clean. The common areas were very pleasant."

"Placing my mother and father in a care facility was challenging to say the least. But the facilities, staff, and activities at Shawnee Estates helped both my parents settle in rather quickly. I have personally watched nurses and other staff work with residents and resolve potentially bigger problems in just a couple of minutes with suggestions or actions for each individual situation. I would recommend taking a close look at Shawnee Estates in Xenia, Ohio if you are considering assisted living or memory care for your loved one. "

"We toured Fairborn Assisted Living. They were very friendly, and my sister was impressed with them. We went to the memory side, and they did not have any openings at the time, so she was on the waiting list. When we walked out of the building, she said that's where she wanted to be. All of us had a positive experience with them. The person who gave the tour took us over to the assisted living side as well to just kind of show us the first floor, which had the dining room and the living room area. They have an activity room and a patio that's enclosed, so everybody can go outside if they want to. It was a little garden area with a couple of benches underneath a covered overhang where the residents could sit and talk, which was kind of nice. We were out there for a couple of minutes. The memory care unit is a lockdown unit, and the residents are escorted to the assisted living side by a staff member so they can participate in activities whenever they want, and then they are escorted back to the memory care side. The family members are given a code to be able to get into the memory side whenever they want to come and visit, so they have access, but the residents that are there are locked down in case they have wandering issues. We did not go into the assisted living side of the dining room, but the memory care has a breakfast area there. They have 14 residents on the memory side, so it was big enough for 14 of them to have a meal together. From what I was told, the person who does the cooking makes meals according to the residents' tastes."

"My mom has moved into Garden Manor, which is right off a major highway. They have lots of parking. Garden Manor has large hallways and nice rooms. My mom is confined to a bed, so she has to have assistance getting dressed and being fed. It's a nursing home with an assisted living wing. My mom doesn't participate in activities; however, they have church, movie, bingo, and a group that likes to knit."

"Brookdale Englewood was nice. The people were nice, and the staff who gave me the tour was great. The rooms looked nice and clean. Everything was good. I liked the whole place. The dining area was fancy and clean. They had an exercise class going, a floral design class, and walking on the patios outside. They also had a place for church services."

"The people at Danbury Huber Heights were very nice and very pleasant. The facility was extremely well-kept. They have group social settings such as coffee time in the morning and that sort of thing, which was very nice. I have no negative thoughts about them except that it wasn't what I was looking for. I appreciate some social contact, but not that much and I think the price range was more than I wanted to pay. It included meals and a lot of things that I did not want at this point in my life and I'm just transitioning from owning my own home for 50 years to downsizing, because of my age (and preparing for my old age). They had workout equipment and game rooms, but no gym, and no pool, which was OK with me. The staff were very knowledgeable, very friendly, very informative, and very understanding of my needs."

"They are very good. As far as I can tell, the staff is great and everybody is wonderful. My mother-in-law has a room there. The place is very clean and only a year old. They always get her out of her room, and they do all kinds of activities in the activity room. My husband and sister-in-law have eaten there, and the food is good. They also have a courtyard that they can go out into when it's warmer, and grow vegetables and flowers there."
