Memory Care Communities in Beavercreek, OH

"The only experience I've had with Shawnee Estates Senior Living was going to an Alzheimer's meeting and getting a tour of the memory care with my sister. I was impressed with it. Everybody there is very friendly. They have activities, too. They even have pet therapy where people come in with pets, dogs, and cats specifically, to visit with the residents. Every time I go in, the residents are very friendly and acknowledge everybody who comes in. They just kind of greet people. I've been in some nursing homes where it looks like a parking lot for people waiting to die, and this is not one of them. Everybody in the staff seemed to be very outgoing, very committed to what they're doing, and very patient. They also offered us something to drink if we wanted it. The building was beautiful, everything was coordinated, and it was easy to get around. I've only been in the wing that my sister is going to be in, which they're still finishing up. They're still working on it, getting it ready for inspections and getting it ready for move-in. Other than a little bit of touch-up paint and a few things like that, it looked nice. I was impressed with that section."

"I toured Fairmont of Washington Township and they had started making improvements in their facility under the new management. The staff who assisted me with the tour was very knowledgeable and was able to answer a lot of my questions. I also felt that much of the staff interacted with me throughout the tour. The place was a little bit smaller. They had a gym, a salon, and an outdoor area."

"This place is such a blessing!! My dear mother was caring for my dad and she could not keep up with him. She was exhausted, not sleeping and i was worried about her more than him! We did a virtual tour and i loved what i saw! The staff was awesome! Carrie, Dani and Heather made the move in so easy and we visit dad regularly with FaceTime! Mom finally can get the rest she needs and dad is happy and healthy! We are so very please with every aspect of the community and feel it is a blessing to have dad in such a loving environment."

"I looked at The Wellington when my dad was looking for independent living three years ago. I like the building. It was very nice, very new, and very well-maintained. The staff was friendly. I had a very nice tour. The rooms were very nice too. The dining area was nicely decorated and well-maintained. The food was good."

"We went to Stoney Ridge Senior Living. It's very nice. We liked it very much. We were there around lunchtime. So there were a lot of residents out and eating together and interacting, which we liked. The staff seemed to be friendly. They gave us a lot of good information because we were new at this. So, we don't necessarily know the good information to even ask. And so they provided a lot of information. They gave us a great packet to look over. It was very attractive and open feeling, so it felt more like a hotel than a community. The rooms were very nice. There were several options as far as whether you just wanted a studio or a bedroom separate from a living room or a bedroom and then the bath. They seemed to have a lot of people that they kept the whole time. They don't have to like, once they pass assisted living, they don't have to go somewhere else for more nursing care. They seemed to have quite a few activities going on for the residents. They had all that on calendars and menus and the whole thing. They invited us so we could make that decision and we think that maybe we'll take my dad over to see the place at lunchtime. On Fridays, they have music at lunchtime. I like that even outside the doors they had "Home of" and the person's name. So, they just seemed like they were trying to make it a personal touch, a choice to be there. The facility was very clean. We saw people cleaning while we were there, and it was just very open and very inviting."

"Danbury in Huber Heights is very complete and very professional. The memory care facility, where my wife is at, is very clean. I'm happy with how they're treating her. I think the food is good and they have so many different activities and places to have those activities. They have a meeting room, a general area, a TV room, a movie theater, and a lot of amenities."

"My mom has been in Brookdale Englewood. It's nice and clean. They've got good food. They have good nurses and aides. She's well taken care of. They've got exercises, bingo, and crafts. The apartment is a good size. They're expensive."

"We visited this facility. I love it. It was awesome. They have a little chapel and a little workout room. Most of people have their own little patio outside their doors. The rooms were very spacious. I just love it. They did have activities. They even have a woodworking room for the men."

"I like the rooms at Bickford of Middletown. I like the way the place was laid out. It's homey, I like the location, it's kind of isolated, and it's more out in the country. If you like that kind of an atmosphere, it's very nice. A lot of people were sitting outside when I was there, and they seemed to enjoy that. The rooms were really clean, the place was clean, and the people were really nice. I like the atmosphere there really well. The only thing I saw was what was posted, and it looked like they had a lot of things going on, several things per day. It looks like there were lots of things for people to do if they choose to do those. I like the way the rooms were done. They all had kitchenettes, a microwave, and a little refrigerator. The rooms were laid out well, they're not huge, but they were laid out well, and quite usable. If they needed to go to doctors' appointments or go shopping or something like that, they could do that. The dining area had more like a fine dining atmosphere. It was a large area and they were all doing the social distancing thing. A lot of the chairs and stuff like that were removed simply because they didn't want everybody sitting together and they were doing things in shifts. It was a large area and it looked like really nice. The menu and choices looked good. I really like the place."

"I recently toured this faculty with my family in hopes of placing our loved one in a few months. Was very impressed with the facility. Loved how open it was and how the rooms were far enough away from the common areas for a more quieter atmosphere. The staff was so kind. They were friendly and watching them interact with other members you could tell how much they cared. Just left feeling very satisfied with the facility and all they have to offer. "

"Aaron's Garden Senior Living & Memory Care was beautiful. It was great. There was nothing wrong with the community, but we wanted a single apartment for my father. We did not want a bedroom where he would walk out into the hallway. It was a beautiful setup. He loved it as far as if he was at that point to go there at a different time, yes, but not at this stage in his life. The people during the tour were very pleasant. It's very clean. The common areas were very pleasant."

"My mom has moved into Garden Manor just a week ago. Right now, they could take care of her there whereas the other two places where she was at before basically threw her out. They have rehab, memory care unit, and nursing home. So far, they have been taking care of my mom like they promised. They do have activities. Like the other day, they sat at the table playing volleyball with a balloon. They have a TV room too. There is plenty to do, but my mother is at the point now that she can't remember what's going on. They also provide three meals, they have their own doctor that will come in and see the residents, and they do housekeeping and laundry."

She at first was in assisted living, but now she is in independent living. She is taking trips every week, participates in the exercise classes, and drinks the coffee they have in the morning.
