"We toured The Winfield at Middletown. They're a very nice place. I would move in there myself. We ask about the menu. We got to go down and see the cafeteria and take a tour of the entire facility. The rooms are nice. It's like having your own little apartment. You can furnish them with your own furniture, your own couch, recliner, whatever you want. They were spacious. Everything was very clean. They had a therapy room. The lady took us to a room and was so nice and explained everything about the facility, the pricing, and so forth, and what she had available. I wouldn't even call it a nursing home. It was immaculate. They're very reasonably priced too."

"Traditions of Lebanon is a lot nicer than the other place. I am kind of considering it. It's a smaller community, but it basically has everything you need. It is like a neighborhood or like suburbia with independent quarters, but they are like condos, and you are renting the space. One of the best parts is that they have attached garages, minimal kitchens, and nice little patios. They have a community clubhouse, and then they have the main building where you would go for meals and stuff if you want to. They charge extra for the meals, though. I think there were many meals a week included with your rental, and then you could add more meals if you wanted. The community was all walkable. They had nice sidewalks around the area. They even had a garden area, which was kind of nice. The only discount to that would be that they didn't have additional levels of living. It was strictly independent. I don't remember being totally impressed with the dining area, but it was nice. They occasionally have barbecues and things like that, and they have a nice gathering area there, too."

"Rooms were clean and well kept. As my loved one declined, adjustments were made to give her more help with feeding and care. Julie and Dee were very helpful with problem solving to meet my loved ones changing needs."

"I toured The Carlyle House Assisted Living Community. It's a small independently owned facility, and it was recommended by our attorney for assisted living and memory care. There wasn't any availability there. I did look at their assisted living apartments, very nice, with a very small kitchen, and food area, but it was all very nice. I did go over and look at the memory care area. It's a small facility. The person who assisted me was friendly and had lots of information."

"The staff at Brookdale Oakwood was good. In fact, this facility was one of my choices. I can say though that the general atmosphere of this place was excellent. The rooms had areas for furniture and a bathroom. I have seen their dining room too and it’s good. The residents in the place seem fine as well. "

"My mom has moved into Garden Manor, which is right off a major highway. They have lots of parking. Garden Manor has large hallways and nice rooms. My mom is confined to a bed, so she has to have assistance getting dressed and being fed. It's a nursing home with an assisted living wing. My mom doesn't participate in activities; however, they have church, movie, bingo, and a group that likes to knit."

"My parents are in 10 Wilmington Place. It's wonderful. They bend over backwards trying to help us if we have any questions, and they let us take our time to think about moving in there. They also checked on us afterwards, making sure we were OK, that we didn't forget, or that we weren't in trouble because we couldn't find a place. The staff is fantastic. We were just worried about the finances. It's upbeat. They're able to plant and grow things. They've got activities during the day. They've got walking groups, entertainment like theaters, and get-togethers in the evenings. Their eating facility is almost like a restaurant. It's nice and bright in there, and it looks elegant. The food is fantastic. They love seafood, and almost every night they're able to get seafood. Everything I needed help with, they would find someone to help me, or bend over backwards to try and get answers. With eating seafood every night, they have noticed that their health has been improving a little bit. They also limit salt. My mother is a diabetic and they limit the sugar, and it's been improving them. They still have their desserts and all that good stuff, so they're enjoying that. The facility is fantastic and safe. When we had issues with the heating and cooling, they came over and fixed it real quick. They had issues with plumbing before, and the maintenance guy on-call came in as soon as he found out. They bend over backwards making sure everything's OK. They've got a variety of activities, from walking to bowling to evening socials with drinks and dancing. They even got a small workout room, and someone can help them with working out. They've got puzzles they can take back to their apartments. They've got a huge sidewalk going around the whole building that my mom always walks around with the dog. Compared to all the other places, everyone else is more expensive."

"Traditions of Beavercreek was very good. I liked the design. It's very spacious. My husband would have to go into the memory ward. We had a full tour. I talked to Mark, and I met the person who was in charge of the Alzheimer's ward, but she was busy at the time. I really didn't do a lot of one-on-one talking to her, but Mark explained it all to me and I felt satisfied with everything he said. They asked me if I wanted anything, but we didn't have a lot of time. Based on the appearance of everything, the atmosphere, and the graciousness of the people I came in contact with, I would rate it a "five.""

"They are very good. As far as I can tell, the staff is great and everybody is wonderful. My mother-in-law has a room there. The place is very clean and only a year old. They always get her out of her room, and they do all kinds of activities in the activity room. My husband and sister-in-law have eaten there, and the food is good. They also have a courtyard that they can go out into when it's warmer, and grow vegetables and flowers there."

"I toured Beehive Homes of Liberty Township. I liked the fact that they were small-scale. I felt like if I'd been there I could have gotten more one-on-one and more personal attention. It was a very clean facility. The staff was very caring. I have no experience with them, but just from what I observed, they seemed nice and caring."

"My mother-in-law is now in Majestic Care of Cedar Village. I like it. It's very clean. The staff is wonderful. They're very kind and patient. Those are the two main and important things they have. They provide bathing care, haircuts, and all of those kinds of things. I've been there during mealtime, and they provide nutritious, good meals. So those are the things I'm happy about the most. I don't remember all the different activities, but they had a schedule on the wall, and it was just full of activities and full of options. They had a variety of activities. My mother-in-law's room is not too small. She's got a nice window with a decent view, and they keep it clean. All of her items and stuff are marked with her room number and her name. They seem to do a good job of managing it all. Their food looked good, and it looked like they provided plenty of food. My mother-in-law likes her food, and she was very happy with it. "

"I was able to tour Provision Living at West Chester. It's a very beautiful facility, and it's very clean. The people there were really nice and attentive, they answered all our questions, and we had an extremely nice tour. The rooms were really nice, they were accommodating when I had indicated that I would rather have carpeting instead of flooring, if that was something that they'd do. They said that they would do what was needed. You'd have to bring your own microwave, there's not any in every single one of them. The laundry is down the hall, so there's not laundry in the unit itself, but it's spacious, and the ceilings are high. The people were very nice, and those who gave us the tour were extremely knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about it. The reason why I didn't choose this place was because it's an assisted living facility, and I just need independent living. One thing that they had which was wonderful and made it really hard for me to say no, was they have these infrared cameras in the units, in the rooms and bedrooms. So should somebody fall, it alerts the facility people, and they'd come to help you, so you don't have to wear a signal or anything. It's automatically monitoring you, but not monitoring you for what you're doing. They won't know who you are necessarily, but they have the capability of getting to you almost immediately should you need assistance. I received some phone calls prior to touring the facility, from the one who was running the place. It's a really small facility, there were only like 20 rooms. That for me is a little too small, because I want to make some friends. The food was very good."

"I toured StoryPoint Fairfield. The price was fair, but it wasn't the greatest. The apartments were small, which is why it's been taken off of our list. And when you move up to the second bedroom level, then it starts to become pricey. The quality of the facility itself and the staff were outstanding. Physically, the units just didn't meet our needs. The two-bedroom was going to be too expensive. From the quality standpoint, we thought it was wonderful, like the quality of all the amenities and everything there. The staff went out of their way to engage with us. You name it, they had so many amenities, including massage, a hair salon, activities, laundry, cleaning services, cable, and WiFi."
