Assisted Living Communities in Miamisburg, OH

"Brookdale Place at Oakwood is nice. It is a little older but well kept. It is a nice facility. The rooms weren't quite as big, and they didn't have a whole lot of availability. I worry about the stairs there. Our person would have to be not anywhere near the stairs. The people were fine, and the rooms were alright. Because they were older, they weren't as nice, but they are fine. It is a nice facility. There was a lot of construction going on, and they were re-doing rooms and stuff like that. It wouldn't be fair to grade them on that, but overall it was fine. Hoever, there was nothing that really stood out about the place. It wasn't really a wow you got to be there. "

"The Winfield at Middletown was pretty decent. It's a nice, clean facility. It looks like a place, and I feel my mom will be safe. The room I saw was also nice and clean. It looked old. They have outings, they played music, they brought in dogs that people can pet, and they have activities for the residents to participate in. They're not just waiting and sitting around all day. They have activities for you to make life more enjoyable. The staff was pretty good. They were nice, friendly, and accommodating. They tried to help me and my mom's needs. They're thoughtful and considerate and try to accommodate and make me feel comfortable that she's in their facility. The menu looks alright."

"We toured the assisted living community of Aaron's Garden Senior Living & Memory Care for my mom. It was nice and clean when we went in. The tour person or the admission person was very kind and answered all of our questions. The rooms were also very nice and immaculate. There weren't many residents there because I guess they were on a field trip or an outing, but the residents seemed very happy there. The place smelled clean and had a nice home-like feel, which is what I liked about it. It is small and intimate. If they didn't have that long waiting list, that's the place that I would have trusted my mother to be in, because even the staff seemed friendly and very attentive to the residents' needs. In the other places I went, they didn't even greet me, and I think that's very important. When you go somewhere, the staff members should always greet you with a smile, and I was greeted with a smile there. It just made me feel comfortable and welcome. It made me feel like my mother would be welcome there, too."

"Mom loves being at Grand Court. I think they're all very friendly. They keep the residents engaged which is important. But she doesn't like the food. She said it's unseasoned. I think it just needs to be more tasteful. And it would be nice if they have an outside area just to sit. My mom has made a lot of friends there. "

"10 Wilmington Place seemed great. My mother-in-law's cousin is living there, and so she has great feelings for that place. The staff did a great job. They were very competent answering any questions and provided all the information that was necessary. The rooms were well organized and well decorated. It was kept up very well, considering what it used to be and how they have remodeled and redone it. Since it's close to a hospice, they have quite a bit of walking space that you could go out and walk around there. The staff all seemed very caring and seemed to know what they were doing. They seemed to enjoy what they were doing, especially with all they had to deal with Covid in the last year and a half. I think they've done a wonderful job with it. It's a great looking facility considering what it looked like 50 years ago. For all the upkeep and the changes they've made in that building, for the way they have kept all the original architecture, and everything that they could've kept to make it the way it looks now, they did a wonderful job."

"Otterbein Lebanon is very nice. The staff is very nice. Everything is wonderful. The place itself is beautiful. I would recommend it. My mother's room is very nice, very clean, and very spacious. They did bridge and played games. They have a nice restaurant on campus. It was a great cost."

"We went to the Brookdale Beavercreek, and we were very impressed. It was the atmosphere, and you could tell they cared about their residents. They are very personable, so it wasn't like you went in there and you went to your room and you stayed in your room. If you had your door open and you were in your room and they were walking by, they stopped and they had a conversation with you, they called you by name. They just don't say hello, and we really like that because it kind of seemed like a family atmosphere. It was clean and the way it was set up, it was set up in a U-shape. So it was easy to manipulate around, and you're not going to get lost, which is one thing you have to worry about for someone with Alzheimer's, dementia, and Parkinson's. The staff was very good. They have a beauty shop.They do game nights. They always pull the resident out of their room and kind of visit."

"My mother is moving to the Traditions of Lebanon. They have a wide range of apartments, in independent living they have a full kitchen and washer and dryer, but in assisted living they don't have that. They have outside spaces like a courtyard and a patio."

"The facilities are clean and organized. The staff treated my dad incredibly well and went above and beyond, in my opinion (one example was singing to him at night to help him fall asleep!). My dad enjoyed the home-cooked food, and meal time seemed more like a family dining affair than a typical senior living cafeteria style meal. I recommend OSL for sure!"

"I toured Traditions of Beavercreek. It was very nice, but it was too professional looking, and it wasn’t warm and homey. The staff was very nice. The dining area was excellent, and they can eat any time they want."

"My mother has moved to Majestic Care of Middletown Assisted Living. That's where she actually wanted to go to begin with. We went and checked it because she has stage six dementia, and they had one bed left. They have nurses and aides constantly, and they've been working with her. They call me every day and give me updates. They seemed to really care and they worked with them constantly. They also do group functions and everything. I've been there with her meals, they've got a three-course meal so she gets her meals, vegetables, and they give her dessert. It looks good. They have activities every day. They're very helpful. She had a doctor's appointment yesterday and they took her. I met them at the doctor's office and everything went well. The drivers were really sweet and they know how to handle her with no problem. They've got a gym, a salon, they've got quite a few things because it's a huge facility. They've got assisted living, a regular nursing home, and a memory care section."

"It is fantastic. The rooms are excellent and we loved the food. They have a salon and a lot of activities for the residents. They're getting ready to renovate the dining area. The staff were very caring, they're just an excellent place."

"I toured Grace Brethren Village. I like basically where it's located because it's close to shopping and it's close to a lot of different things that we would use. It's close to the hospital and our doctor, and that's important. What I wasn't crazy about was that it's older. It doesn't have quite the amenities that some of the newer places have, but it was very nice. It was clean. It was very well-appointed. They were still remodeling when we were there so it may have changed by now. The staff was very polite, very nice, and very knowledgeable of what was going on, and took a lot of time with us. They have some activities, not as much as some of the newer homes, but they have a place for cards and a community room. It was very nicely done."

"I toured Beehive Homes of Liberty Township. I liked the fact that they were small-scale. I felt like if I'd been there I could have gotten more one-on-one and more personal attention. It was a very clean facility. The staff was very caring. I have no experience with them, but just from what I observed, they seemed nice and caring."
