"This facility continues to amaze me with the quality of care that is given to the residents. The facility is always so clean, the staff is so welcoming and the nurses always provide the best care. My great aunt has been a resident there for over a year and she loves being there. She feels at home and does not feel the stigma of certain estended care facilities while there. She and I have nothing but great things to say! "

"My dad was at Heartland of Centerville 4 different times from July 2019 to February 2020. You can't say anything good about the food, and they said that right upfront that you don't go there for the food. But everything else was well taken care of. People got to know him and he got to know him. I was there 5-7 days a week, and everything I have witnessed was professional and loving and they took wonderful care of him. Throughout his journey downhill, they just took care of him. He had trouble swallowing and they had to puree the food, but even though it tasted the same it was not appetizing to look at. It does not have many activities, they do bingo once in a while and musical groups would come in to play old music. They had him on physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, and they worked with him 6 days a week. He knew the therapist and they knew him, they could jest with him which he really appreciated. They have aides there that would tease him and he really loved that. For the money it was just really a good choice if you have to be in a place like that. That's why we went back 4 times. The food smelled good, but it's not like other places where you could order what you wanted. Here they just brought a stack of trays and you just get what they fixed that day with the exceptions if you needed something special. They had nice hot plates but it wasn't always hot by the time it got to dad, and sometimes it gets to him when he was off to therapy and he'd be there for a while. It's not low quality food in fact it's high quality. I would sneak a taste of it and it tasted good, but it certainly wasn't restaurant food. It smelled clean, it's always clean and they were polishing the floors on a daily basis. It looked not high-fashioned furniture and things but it was clean and doable. I have no problems with the place itself."

"I like Otterbein Springboro Nursing Home a lot. My mom is in rehab there and it was a good experience. I like the small house concept, that it was more of a home type place instead of a luxury hotel. I liked the style with the small home atmosphere where the residents came right out of their rooms and they could be right there in the living room or kitchen. They ate together, so it was a more family-style atmosphere and I liked that. The food is very good, she gained weight there so I'm thinking that's a plus. They were doing physical activity or rehab and things like that. There are no salons on-premises, it was one house so there's no gym that I'm aware of, but they have a courtyard. The other things were pretty much contained in the house."

"Rooms are adequate and clean. My husband is currently a resident at Wood Glen. He has Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia. Food is good and staff has been very good with him. I see lots of interaction between residents and staff. He has adjusted well and is doing as good as he is able to because of his health issues."

"My brother has been a resident at Vienna Springs for 6 months. This is a beautiful new facility. He's in a double room with a roommate. I love the fact that the room includes a large walk in bathroom with a shower. However, one side of this particular floorplan is much smaller than the other. I chose the smaller part because it's at the door. My brother is in a wheelchair making his coming and going easier. The room comes with a phone, flat screen TV and a very nice recliner. There's also a wardrobe and a four drawer dresser for clothing. The staff is very welcoming, from the director to the aids. Concerns are taken care of in a timely minor. I requested a care team meeting to ask how to get my brother more involved in activities instead of spending so much time in front of the TV watching sports and movies (which he loves to do). Now he is involved in activities and making new friends which he loves more. A staff person will bring him so he can attend. My brother enjoys the food. The culinary chef came to Bill's room shortly after he arrived to ask what his favorite foods were. Also every Friday is Happy Hour. The food and drinks are delicious. And the first Sunday of every month there's a Sunday brunch where family members are welcomed. I feel so much is done to help residents experience a normal home life. There are trips into the community that Bill can't attend right now. However, this spring hopefully I can make arrangements to go along so Bill can be involved. Both Brother Bill and I see a long happy life at Vienna Springs thanks to this caring staff. A special thanks to Kristen, Kourtney and Holly. "

"Bellbrook Rehab and Healthcare Center, was an ok facility. I visited to see a family member that was put into the facility. The staff seemed to be just a tab bit busy when I was there, like they did not have enough help. They consistently seemed short staffed. The Building is well taken care off. The environment seemed very clean. They were doing activities with the residence but they dint seem to have a huge variety of things for them to do, just your basics like bingo and card games. The staff was not the friendliest people I ever met but they were not blatantly rude either. A few employees were over the top with their actual care, while others lacked a bit. I would probably not want to put some there that is extremely close to me, I think I could find a better place with more activities and better staffing. Over all I would say it isn't the greatest place to house your loved ones but not the worst either. "

"My mother was at PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Miamisburg for ten days. What I liked best about them was that the physical and occupational therapists were top-notch. I would give them a high five. They were very good and very responsive. They had good analysis and good therapy. The staff, I thought, was very poor. They were barely adequate, especially on Sundays. On Sundays, they don't have any therapy or any administrative people in the facility. I found that when she was there on two different Sundays, the staff gathered in the hallway and talked to themselves. It was very hard to get any assistance. The whole process was not explained for the food. They had three different types of diets. What I understand from my mother is that you didn't know what kind of food you were getting. You never had any options. It was just one meal. Many times things were missing that she was supposed to get off of the menu. They usually said, "Oh, that's because we ran out. We didn't have any." There was never a substitute that was offered. The food was just kind of bland looking, too. The presentation wasn't very good at all. It's a brand new facility so it was very clean. The layout was good. There wasn't a lot of direction, though. If you were there for the first time and didn't know where somebody was, it was difficult to try to get someone to assist you. The staff just seemed kind of indifferent. Again on Sundays, the staff did nothing. If you went up to the desk, nobody acknowledged you on the floor. You had to push to get a question answered. Most of the time if you ask them something, they would say "I don't know." They don't want to engage at all. During the week, it was a little better, but there was no explanation when you got checked in. It's just like, "Okay, you're checked in. We checked your vitals, and you're just here.""

"My mom is at Sycamore Glen for about two to three months now. The staff are very friendly. My mom plays cards in the evening and does exercise in the morning. Every Saturday they have movie nights. They also have church services every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. They would also go to the park to have desserts. They do arts and crafts and she lives puzzles a lot. My mother loves the food. I also like the fact that they give her coupon every so often for people to eat with her. If she doesn't have a coupon, she has to pay $8 for a coupon and then you can eat what you want with that coupon. She is a diabetic but they do not have specific diabetic foods although they have fat-free foods. She is left to monitor herself to make sure that she eats what she is supposed to eat. "

"We have chosen Legacy Miamisburg Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation for my sister. It seemed ideal for her Alzheimer's condition and the state of her disease. It was very bright and clean. Everyone was very friendly. We just felt like it would be a good fit for her. The admissions director was very helpful, very friendly, and very compassionate about our situation. We were also pleased to hear about their psychiatric presence."

"I love this place. I was here for 3+ months and got to know everyone pretty well. The staff tries their best. I know there are staffing issues and all but everyone I had was patient and kind. Even when I could hear them being yelled at by another resident. They kept their cools and just soldiered on. I was treated like a human. I was NEVER made to feel embarrassed or like I was a burden. Often times, the nurses and aids were the only people I had to talk to the entire day. And they always would spend the time talking. Thursday Snow Cones! The food! It was good. Not gourmet, but not gross industrial food either. They care. It's not a 4 star hotel, it's a nursing home. There will be smells and sounds and issues. You can tell that the staff is doing their best. And that matters. The therapists are EXCELLENT! Megan and Caroline and Denice and all the others. The support they gave, really helped me get up and walking and moving again. I can do hard things. Denice told me that and I use it all the time. The best thing is that the Laurels admin are open to suggestions. The therapists are open to suggestion. I even met the Director of Operations for the midwest and he took my suggestion of a bird bath seriously and agreed. If you know what you are expecting, the Laurels is a great place. If you are expecting a 4 star hotel with staff catering to your every whim, no. But they care and will do their best for you."

"There was one more I visited, and it is called the Walnut Creek. Everything was nice. I actually like this place a little bit better, and I don't know why. All the places I visited were clean. I guess they spent a little more time with me talking about my situation. The staff is great. Everyone seems great. I didn't meet the whole staff, but the people I was introduced to and the administration people were nice. The rooms are very nice. They are as clean and spacious as can be for a nursing home. As for activities, they have the same things like bingo and that kind of thing. I didn't look that hard on it, but I think they have a place they can do your hair and make you feel good about yourself. I was very impressed with them. "

"My client and her parents liked Lincoln Park Manor. They were looking for a place where most people are Jewish that's why they chose it. It was more like an apartment with 2 bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. It's clean but seemed more expensive than the other places. They have limo service that takes them to places and also other specialized services. They have a lot of activities. She played mahjong, the guys had poker and different musical things that come in. I will recommend this place as long as they can afford it. "
