Independent Living Communities in Beavercreek, OH

"Aaron's Garden Senior Living & Memory Care was beautiful. It was great. There was nothing wrong with the community, but we wanted a single apartment for my father. We did not want a bedroom where he would walk out into the hallway. It was a beautiful setup. He loved it as far as if he was at that point to go there at a different time, yes, but not at this stage in his life. The people during the tour were very pleasant. It's very clean. The common areas were very pleasant."

"Everything at Otterbein Lebanon was nice; I didn't find anything that I did not like there. I didn't get to meet too many of the staff, but they greeted me, and the lady who did the tour was very knowledgeable and not too pushy. It was a good experience."

"Trinity Community at Fairwood (Formerly Fairwood Village Senior Apartment Complex) is excellent. The staff is super nice. My sister does her own cooking. It's very nice and very clean. It's a good place and it's in a very good location. They have an exercise room, a big living area where they have card games and tournaments, they do potluck, they celebrate everyone's birthday, and they have a nurse that comes in and does blood pressure and checks things once or twice a week."

"My in-laws like Trinity Community at Beavercreek. Their community was beautiful. They've done a great job taking good care of it. The staff was wonderful. We only met a couple of people, but they were very, very helpful. They answered a lot of questions for us, and they took their time, which was very helpful for my in-laws. The place was beautiful. We looked at independent living and assisted living. For independent living, it's just like being at home. If you're used to condos or townhomes, it has been like that where you will share space in the sense of the yard, etc. with somebody else. It was beautiful and wide. The doorways were very nice, but you can come and go as you please, and it was just like living at home. Part of their independent living that my in-laws thought was very nice was the fact that you could still participate in the things that go on in the assisted living area where you could feel like you're at home, but you've got friends. The independent living is separate from the assisted living building. They were off on a little bus trip now that COVID has a lot of restrictions that have been lifted. A lot of the members were not there, but it was nice because they already had them out as soon as they could. They had a fitness center, a library, and a piano. What was nice that my in-laws really enjoyed was the fact that they had a pub, and they had outdoor seating areas so you could spend time outside if you were in that assisted living area. Of course, if you're in the independent, you've got your own porch and whatever else. So you can go from your own place and go up there to the assisted living area. They had a restaurant, I would say, so where you feel like you were going to dinner with other people. What was nice was that it wasn't like a cafeteria, they have a menu, so that was nice. The structure is very nice inside and out."

"The Ashford of Beavercreek had all apartments. No garages. It was a very clean facility. It just didn't meet what we wanted right now. They showed us the beauty salon and where they can do their nails and hair. Then they had a workout room. One thing that they were offering, because they were just opening, was that your prices would be the same and they would not raise it. Their pricing was locked if you were an early sign-in or one of the original clients. So, that was a real big advantage, because they were expensive. For what they are, they were wonderful. The person that gave the tour was just wonderful too. She was excellent. Everything was new. It was spotless and very nice because everything was included. Everything was under one package and it included the utilities."

"I moved into Homestead Village Beavercreek. It was a very clean facility. They are still on construction, and they haven't completed the whole village yet. They have a place where they're hiring for a hairstylist, so they can have somebody come in. They offer a craft center where you can go and work on crafts. They have a chapel where right now, they're looking to have some Bible studies to be held there. They have a post office center where your mailboxes are. They have an information center with computers where you can log on to pay your rent and or any type of business with the Homestead Village. They have free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. They have a TV room. They have bingo once a week. They have a banquet hall where you can hold any type of banquet. It's a secured building, so at five o'clock, it's locked up for not allowing public access. Each apartment has a little kitchenette. It comes at a total amount of your rent for your utilities, gas, electric, internet, and cable TV. The staff was very friendly."

"Lakeview Senior Apartments-Beavercreek looked very nice. The people were very friendly and even the residents were very helpful to us too, because the first day we showed up there (we didn't have an appointment or anything), but they explained to us that the office was closed and all that and showed us around a little bit. Then we came back later with an appointment and got a very thorough tour. I liked the layout of the rooms much better than any other place I looked at. Pretty much they're all two bedrooms, but they had two different sizes of two bedrooms. They were set up with a very good-sized washer and dryer in every room. The bigger two bedrooms had a bathroom off of each bedroom. The smaller one just had a bathroom, but they were very good size and the rent was reasonable. The rooms were set up where they told us if there was a fire, you could just stay in the room because you're safer in the room than you are outside. Overall, we were really pleased. They didn't have much to offer. They only had a few things like a little game room, a pretty good sized cafeteria, and a little pond that was out in the back with the outdoor area there and everything, but it was really nice looking and mainly what we liked about it was the fact that the rooms were very, very safe with all kinds of handicapped gear and a string to pull for alarms if you need assistance or something. That's also near where all my friends live and everything, so that was one reason why we're considering that place. They don't offer you meals. You have your own kitchen and you fix your own food. They have a cafeteria area, but they said they only use that to serve food for special events like birthday parties. They don't have regular meals there."

"I toured Dogwood Commons. It was laid out well. It looked like a good interim step where you've got a big house, maybe 2200 square feet, and you're going back to 1500, but it had not only two bedrooms but also two bedrooms and a den. It had all the appliances except a washer and dryer. It had a two-car garage. The staff was friendly and forthright. The building is brand new, very modern, and nice."

"My brother and I visited One Lincoln Park (and other places) when searching for a comfortable and safe independent living community. We found OLP to be a very clean, bright, and friendly place. The residents, that we came across during our tour were very cheerful, and each one recommended OLP to us. OLP has a variety of room layouts, with several different pricing options. The dining room and bistro provide an assortment of different foods daily. Residents can participate in a considerable number of activity opportunities. OLP is also located very close to the Fraze Pavillion and Kettering Civic Commons, for easy walks, and where an assortment of spring and summer events can be heard or attended. Our mother has now been at OLP for about 5 months, and she seems very pleased. She has made several new friends, has stated that the staff is very responsive, efficient, and courteous. We all feel that it has been a very good choice! "

"My apartment at Biltmore Towers Senior Living is OK, not something I would brag about. It’s a one-bedroom apartment that is good enough for one person. The maintenance crew is really nice. The manager of the place can be a little bit snooty. They don’t provide the meals, but they do have bingo. "

"Bethany Lutheran Village was very nice and very comprehensive. They have all levels of service, they have all styles from apartments to cottages, and they have all levels of caring from independent to assisted living to Alzheimer's unit. They will take care of you no matter what happens as you progress down to the final part of your life. It was spotless. I did not try the food, but I have talked to people who have, and they say it's very good. In the independent living sections, there are several dining rooms, and they have chefs that have been trained in New York and so forth and so on, and they do a wonderful variety and tasty menu for the residents. "

"I like St. Leonard. They had a good independent living community, but we're going to assisted living. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere and environment were very good. Physically, it's more dated than some of the other places out there, but it's still adequate."

"I lived at Wright Place. It's senior independent living. I lived there for a couple of years a while back. I still go out about once a week to visit. It's a very wonderful place. The Wright Place is an apartment complex. There are three floors, a little over 100 units that's there. It's just the edge of town in a nice, rural atmosphere. I enjoyed being there, and if I had a chance, I might go back. The only thing: there are no garages. They have a nice parking lot, but your car is outside, and we have some severe winters in Ohio. They have a beauty salon, a computer room, and a library. They have a lot of nice events for the residents. They have crafts-type things. They have a Bible study. About once a week or so, they have a service with a lot of singing. A lot of residents like to sing. Very pleasant. Some of the people I've known through the years are residents at Wright Place and they enjoy it. "
