"Forest Glen Health Campus in Springfield, Ohio receives my utmost gratitude. My aunt had been in many nursing homes with in the last 2 years of her life and by far, Forest Glen blew away my expectations. All the staff was courteous and friendly, they were always well kept and always cared about how the family was doing. Some of my aunt's family had come from another city and the nursing home offered them spare rooms and if ever they were thirsty or hungry, the nursing home staff always accommodated their needs. When my aunt did pass, the staff was there to assist us with all the arrangements and allowed the family to finish saying their goodbyes in their own way. It was definitely an experience I won't soon forget and I must say thank you. "

"I'm moving to Lakeview Senior Apartments. I have already put a deposit down and everything. They have things that I need. They have a walk-in shower there, and they have a washer and dryer in the apartment. It is much better. They have handicapped accessible doors. It's very nice. The staff are very nice people. The staff member told me they have a couple of activities. She said every Friday or Saturday night they get together, a small group of them for a meal in the evening. It has a lot of things. It has walk-in showers, it has grab bars, and it has all that stuff. They don't provide food; I have to buy my own food. That's one thing it doesn't include, but it includes everything else. It's very nice there."

"We visited the assisted living facility of The Ashford of Beavercreek a year and a half ago. It was actually my favorite, but my parents don't want to live out in Beavercreek. I love the layout of the apartments. It was very nice. Of course, it was brand new then, so they didn't even have a full staff when we went and were still working on a lot of things. The woman who took us around was very informative, very nice, and friendly. The facility is beautiful. I would live there myself."

"I moved into Homestead Village Beavercreek. It was a very clean facility. They are still on construction, and they haven't completed the whole village yet. They have a place where they're hiring for a hairstylist, so they can have somebody come in. They offer a craft center where you can go and work on crafts. They have a chapel where right now, they're looking to have some Bible studies to be held there. They have a post office center where your mailboxes are. They have an information center with computers where you can log on to pay your rent and or any type of business with the Homestead Village. They have free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. They have a TV room. They have bingo once a week. They have a banquet hall where you can hold any type of banquet. It's a secured building, so at five o'clock, it's locked up for not allowing public access. Each apartment has a little kitchenette. It comes at a total amount of your rent for your utilities, gas, electric, internet, and cable TV. The staff was very friendly."

"Trinity Community at Fairwood (Formerly Fairwood Village Senior Apartment Complex) is excellent. The staff is super nice. My sister does her own cooking. It's very nice and very clean. It's a good place and it's in a very good location. They have an exercise room, a big living area where they have card games and tournaments, they do potluck, they celebrate everyone's birthday, and they have a nurse that comes in and does blood pressure and checks things once or twice a week."

"I thought the staff and amenities offered great service to my grandfather. I was not impressed with some of the staff, they appeared grumpy and irritable which did not help my grandfathers spirits. They neglected him every so often and he complained openly about it. As he came away from the facility however he was becoming more mobile and he attributed that to the staff. This was confusing at first because he had always complained about them quite a bit. It was great though how he was able to live on his own after being in the assisted living for about two years. He often tells me how much he appreciated my visits to him there and how if he ever falls into that type of living situation again that he wants to go back to Legacy. I was thankful for their care for my grandfather and even though they sometimes had staff that weren't the kindest I know he was taken care of better than most assisted living homes would have. I will definitely recommend Legacy assisted living to many more people in the future. Many thanks to their staff and even owners who operate their establishment. I do have one parting statement and that is that over the next few years Legacy should look to hire more happy people. It sounds simple but happiness makes a big difference especially in the lives of those being cared for. "

"We went to see Otterbein SeniorLife Tipp City. We looked at a duplex home where you live fairly independently, though you can get some help. You have to be assessed, and then they talk to you, and you can let them know how much help you need and what is available. I liked it. They also had long-term care, but what we looked at was the housing, the two-bedroom duplex. I was very impressed with everything I saw and the people I talked to. I think it's very good. We also have a history with them, with a family member who spent six years with them many years ago. Not this particular one, but in another city. That was nothing but really good care, so that was one of the reasons we went to see this place. The staff members who gave the tour were both very knowledgeable, very comfortable, and very warm, and perfect for their job."

"I lived at Wright Place. It's senior independent living. I lived there for a couple of years a while back. I still go out about once a week to visit. It's a very wonderful place. The Wright Place is an apartment complex. There are three floors, a little over 100 units that's there. It's just the edge of town in a nice, rural atmosphere. I enjoyed being there, and if I had a chance, I might go back. The only thing: there are no garages. They have a nice parking lot, but your car is outside, and we have some severe winters in Ohio. They have a beauty salon, a computer room, and a library. They have a lot of nice events for the residents. They have crafts-type things. They have a Bible study. About once a week or so, they have a service with a lot of singing. A lot of residents like to sing. Very pleasant. Some of the people I've known through the years are residents at Wright Place and they enjoy it. "

"Trinity Community at Beavercreek feels very homey. They're older houses, but they have a fireplace in each cottage. The garages aren't the first thing you see, you see a beautiful front porch. It reminds me of an older home, such as the ones I grew up in. I like that. They are beautifully maintained, the lawns, gardens, and everything. People take care of their own. You can see there's a little competition among the owners of the cottages to how nice they can make their front areas look. Of course, all lawns and such are maintained by Trinity Community. We didn't have a meal, but we did look in the dining room. We got there earlier in the day and saw what was going on. We did see the menus and so forth, and understand that in independent living, you may have a meal every day if you prefer, or as fewer as many as you need. I love to cook, so as long as I can, I want to cook my own. The person who gave us the tour has been an employee of Trinity for 17 years, and we met people at various locations who also had been there many, many years. That said something to us because turnover in these places is usually quite high, and yet they were maintaining their staff. Something they are doing at the professional level tells me they're doing something right, and that impressed me. We happened to come in during a morning exercise class that is run by the physical therapist who works in the rehab center. Anybody can come in from the cottages, or the independent living, or assisted living. There were a variety of people with all kinds of abilities who were doing these exercises. We saw where the chapel is, and we saw the library. All these were things that appealed to me. The only complaint I have is the kitchens are very tiny and closed in, but I'm used to working in a small kitchen, I can do it. I just wish it was nicer, that's my only complaint there. We loved the staff who gave us the tour. She was just right, not a hard salesperson, her name's Corey. She knew when to say certain things such as if you are in the independent living, but one of you needs some assistance. They send their own staff to help you to do assisted living in your independent living location. That is the only place we've encountered that would do that. Some of them said I would have to hire my own people to bring them in, just as we're doing now at home if we needed help. I was impressed by that, but she wasn't a hard salesperson. She was calm, she showed us, she spoke, and was knowledgeable, I was really impressed. If I send a communication, she communicated immediately. Everything was just right on. It was immaculate, the place was clean as a pin. You couldn't have seen anything cleaner. Corey said they're not the shiny new penny, but they're a really well-maintained silver dollar, very well-maintained properties, and very clean."

"The staff at Brookview Place were very helpful and the tenants were great. I had a one bedroom apartment with a full patio from the bedroom to the living room. It also had a storage area, entry hall, kitchen and a pretty good closet space. There were a lot of activities to keep you occupied like bingo twice a month, auctions and prom in June. It had a very homey and very friendly environment. I enjoyed being there and I was very happy. I would really recommend this place. "

"My apartment at Biltmore Towers Senior Living is OK, not something I would brag about. It’s a one-bedroom apartment that is good enough for one person. The maintenance crew is really nice. The manager of the place can be a little bit snooty. They don’t provide the meals, but they do have bingo. "

"I toured Dogwood Commons. It was laid out well. It looked like a good interim step where you've got a big house, maybe 2200 square feet, and you're going back to 1500, but it had not only two bedrooms but also two bedrooms and a den. It had all the appliances except a washer and dryer. It had a two-car garage. The staff was friendly and forthright. The building is brand new, very modern, and nice."
