"My tour at Landings of Sidney was great. Jenny did a really good job. She showed us around. We went into the office and discussed some questions. My father-in-law said that if he goes anywhere, he wants to go to this one. It was clean, and everybody was nice. He did walk down the hallway cause he knew a couple of people, and that's helpful that he already knows them. As far as the food goes, he gets three meals a day. They have a menu, and they have a chef. They have transportation if he needs it. All he has to do is go in and sit down and get his meal. They do his laundry, clean his apartment, and do just everything. All he has to do is just go in and enjoy himself. They have a game night where they play cards. If we want to come over and cook outside with him, we could do that too. They have a grill outside."

"It was very nice. We took our mother there. It had an elevator. She has dementia, and she was so nervous about it. But it was nice. We liked it a lot, and it's in Fairborn. We saw a one-bedroom with an extended living room and a small kitchen. It's more than just one bedroom with a sitting area, which we liked. They had activities and played all kinds of games, but we weren't there when they were doing them. They had a lady who plays the piano. They showed us the activity room and a special room if you wanted to have guests. It had a little kitchen on the side where you can make things where you can invite people or your family. The staff was very good. It was very clean. The menu looked very nice. The dining area was very nice. They had a little garden with flowers and a nice little sitting area that was really pretty and had a lot of greenery."

"I visited Forest Glen. You could tell that it was clean and didn't smell. The people who worked there cared and showed us around. The apartments were extremely clean. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and knew all of the residents' names. The food was very good."

"It was very good. I enjoyed the place. They're very friendly and very clean. It was someplace I would like for my parents to be when it comes. The staff was very informational, very polite, and any questions I had, they answered. The rooms looked like an apartment. It's almost like a hotel-type thing. They were gonna do a birthday party when I was there. The dining area was clean and pleasant, and the tables weren't too crowded."

"We're living in Wooded Glen. We have only been here for a little bit, but we enjoy it. It's a great place. It is brand new, so they're still in the process of getting more and more amenities. It just opened in February. One of their perks is that they have access to free golf at an adjoining golf course. They also have courtyards. We are happy with the service too. They have topnotch cooks and administrator."

"I went to Green Hills Center. It is a huge, huge complex. It has a swimming pool. It has a gymnasium, it has apartments, and I toured assisted living. The place was clean. It was air conditioned. I said, "Where is everyone?" And she said, "Oh, they're either in a Bible study group, or they're in the dining room where the lady was doing some kind of a craft or something with them." What I did not like about it was I would have to leave that building and go outside to get to another building where the swimming pool was. I would have to go out of that building and leave it and go farther away to go to the gymnasium. We went in, up in an elevator, and I think I saw a total of maybe ten people. Some of them were in the dining room doing the craft or whatever, and a couple of them were in the hall. The staff was very, very nice. They were excited about the place. I had to ask for something cold to drink; they did not offer."

"I was impressed with Hearth and Home at El Camino because the facility is very homey and clean. The rooms were small, but very comfortable looking. I would eventually use Medicaid for my husband and if this facility takes Medicaid I would gladly take him in here. I really like this facility. "

"I went to this facility to visit my grandma who has been there for 6 to 7 months. She has been asking my family and I to visit her ever since she has been there. We just went about 3 days ago and I thought very highly of the village. The building looked very clean and new and the landscaping was wonderful. Inside the staff greeted us and seemed to interact with us and the residents very well. Everything was very clean and nice looking. The only real negative that I experienced while I was there was that we had to wait for someone to assist us for about 5-10 minutes after arriving. After that everything went very smooth and they had no problem taking us back to my grandma and letting us visit her. Overall I'd say my experience at this nursing home was a very positive experience. In fact, I wouldn't mind living in a place like this once I am old enough too, and hopefully my kids and grand-kids will have the same positive experience I did. "

"It seemed nice enough. It seemed like it would work well for my father. It seemed like it would be a good facility for him. It's close by, so we would be able to check on him frequently without any problems. He knows the area because he's from New Carlisle originally. We were fairly impressed. It was clean and the facility seemed like it offered everything that you would need. The people there were friendly and helpful, which is important. The residents seemed happy. What we didn't like was the temperature was very, very chilly and he's elderly, so cold is a big issue. We weren't comfortable with that because the temperature was something he would not be able to tolerate. The staff said that it was colder than it usually was normally, and she said it's typically not that bad. Other than that, everybody seemed to be caring. The dining room was large and nice. It is a combination of assisted living and long-term care. I didn't look at the long-term care side of it, but they offer that and also rehabilitation. The staff during the tour was very helpful and answered all our questions succinctly. They're renovating, so they're adding to it."

"My mom is in memory care at the Bluebird Retirement Community. The facilities are really clean and they have individual rooms, which was really nice, so they don't have to share. They're very spacious with really nice bathrooms in each room. They've put a lot of thought in designing things that work really well for the different people. There's quite a big ratio of workers per resident and it's really pleasant. They've gone through a lot of effort to put a movie theater in the facility, an ice cream shop, and a living room with a fireplace area. Some of the staff is excellent, but some are very mediocre. The food is very good. They have field trips and they have a pig roast coming up, but because she's in the memory care, she complains that there is neat stuff going on for the regular residents, but she can't participate. The price is outrageous and very expensive. It's $6,000 a month. The amount of care for the price is disproportionate. I'd expect a lot more for the price."
