"My mother-in-law was a resident of Christian Village at Mt. Healthy. It was very nice. She was well taken care of, and she enjoyed the place. She first went for assisted living, and she had Alzheimer's, so she wound up in memory care at the end. Her room was nice, and the upkeep was also very nice. It was kept up well. The dining area looked fine, and the parking area is adequate."

"I visited the Silverfern Cincinnati North's independent living community. I liked the one-bedroom apartment. It was beautiful, with a living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. It has its own washer and dryer for doing your laundry. It also had a dishwasher in the kitchen, so you don't have to wash dishes. When you first walked in the door, they had a beautiful fish aquarium, which was just so wonderful. I haven't seen an aquarium like that, and it's nice. They had two pools, and they had an area where you could sit in, like you're at a theater and watching TV. They had a place to do pottery and a place to do painting. They even have a place to get your hair done, and so many other things. It was really just wonderful. There's a place outside where you could grill, and they are building a little place to play golf. The staff is great. I saw a lot of people who work here, and they're all over the place. The guy who had us come in was great. He took me to see the whole place, and it was just wonderful."

"We toured the assisted living community of Aaron's Garden Senior Living & Memory Care for my mom. It was nice and clean when we went in. The tour person or the admission person was very kind and answered all of our questions. The rooms were also very nice and immaculate. There weren't many residents there because I guess they were on a field trip or an outing, but the residents seemed very happy there. The place smelled clean and had a nice home-like feel, which is what I liked about it. It is small and intimate. If they didn't have that long waiting list, that's the place that I would have trusted my mother to be in, because even the staff seemed friendly and very attentive to the residents' needs. In the other places I went, they didn't even greet me, and I think that's very important. When you go somewhere, the staff members should always greet you with a smile, and I was greeted with a smile there. It just made me feel comfortable and welcome. It made me feel like my mother would be welcome there, too."

"Evergreen Retirement Community is fantastic and wonderful. The rooms are really good, pretty large, and you get to bring in your own decorations. My friends are living there, so I had dinner them, and the food is really good. They have a great chef. They take them on outings, and people come in and help them paint if they're interested. They had this one person come in and sing to them. They have a fantastic activity director. She gets everybody singing with her, even the people who were kind of lolling over. I didn't think these people would get involved, but she got them involved, so it's wonderful. You'll absolutely love it. The grounds are wonderful and beautiful and have all kinds of plants. They even have the residents help plant if they want and have flower gardens and a pool. "

"My brother is staying at Blue Rock Senior Living. There are very few residents there. My brother said the food is just tolerable. He says sometimes it's not that good, but he gets plenty of food. The room is very small, but he's making the best of it. I think they keep it very clean. The TV system that they have is Roku, so my brother cannot watch any Reds or Bengals games on his TV, and that's probably the biggest improvement they could make. There's one lady there who's been very helpful to him. She helped him set up his computer and other things. They do my brother's laundry once a week. They clean his room once a week. They have a stairlift, but it's very slow. Their courtyard and patio are very good. They have a very small library, so my brother goes to the public library."

"The Summit of Blue Ash is a very good community. We toured their assisted living community. They have all kinds of activities for senior citizens, and the rooms are very beautiful to live in. They have good staff there, and they work with the seniors really well. They take you out on field trips, or if you have to go to Walmart or someplace like that, they take you out like that, too. The lady who gave the tour was sweet and very nice. We sampled the food, and it looked really good. The atmosphere was really awesome, and the facility was very clean. It's an excellent place to be. I wish we could have afforded it."

"I liked that the rooms at Ohio Living Llanfair were very light, bright, and a good size. The staff we met was very good. They were just a lot more expensive and a little older and dated, but it was still very nice and very clean. They had very pretty grounds outside and plenty of activities such as bingo and happy hour. The dining area was also very nice."

"Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community is excellent. We went to various places. We saw standalone places, we saw places that were kind of like apartment situations, and we saw the activity centers and that sort of thing. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. They have about everything you need to have from houses and two-bedrooms all the way to nursing home setting. I saw one of the restaurants, a game room, the area where they play outside, and their little lake or pool or whatever. They're very nice. The food was excellent. I had lunch there."

"The Wellington at North Bend Crossing was very nice. The staff was exceptional. I would pay for that one. It gave you more than the other place did as far as amenities. The staff was courteous. It was very clean."

"Deerfield Springs Retirement Community gives you one price where everything is included. We had lunch there and the food was extraordinary. It was a beautiful meal that was prepared by a chef. You can get food all day long if you want to. They have a waterfall in the middle of the facility and you can hear the waterfall all over the building. It's beautiful. They have lots of individual rooms with fireplaces. They've got one with eight fireplaces, as well as reading areas. My husband is a professor and he loves to read and there is a big library there, too. There's a very nice workout room and a lot of good programs for mental/intellectual stimulation. They have a traveling program, so if you are a resident of Deerfield Springs and if you want to travel somewhere else, you can stay in one of 20 plus Deerfield Springs retirement centers around the United States. No other place we visited had that. I loved it. I could go ahead and live there. It's got the biggest apartments that we looked at. Plus they're convenient to everything in Montgomery."

"My mother has now been a resident of Traditions of Deerfield for nine months. She has received excellent care. The staff is wonderful. They know all the residents by name and are constantly looking out for them. It took a while to get a good staff, but things have settled down and are running smoothly.The care staff is especially kind and thoughtful. The food is very good. My mother hasn't complained about it once. I'm so happy we chose Traditions for her new home. I would highly recommend this facility."

"My mom will be moving to Traditions at North Bend tomorrow. She will be in their assisted living. It's a very nice building, and fairly new at only a year and a half old. The rooms are spacious, she's going to be in a studio, and very nice. They offer plenty of activities. They also have a salon, a chapel, and an exercise room. They offer other services too and the staff is also very friendly. The studio, I believe, is 400 square feet. It has several kitchen cabinets, dark-colored, very nicely done, and with nice fixtures. They have a microwave and a small refrigerator in the room. It's half carpeted and then half laminate flooring. It offers big windows for light, a nice-size clothes closet, and high ceilings. The bathroom is extremely large with a very large walk-in shower and lots of safety bars. It has a very accessible handheld shower wand and an adjustable seat. It also has plenty of room to move around there with plenty of closet space for towels and necessities. The dining area is very, very nice. It's got a fireplace right in the middle as you walk in the place. That's what you see straight ahead, they've got a fire going. A lot of times, people are very cold so it was just a very nice setting. It's like a circular setting all around the fireplace and from what I could see, there's plenty of seating, lots of windows with light, and you could see outside to the landscaping through the courtyard and it's very nice. They have several places to sit like chairs, rockers, and tables. It's also fenced off and it's just very nicely done. It's U-shaped and my mom's room would be at the other end. She's able to walk with a walker but they also have benches everywhere in the hallway where they can sit down if they need it. They also have a very nice laundry room on-site where they could do their own laundry or someone can do the laundry for them. I met some of the other people on the staff as well. They were very helpful and knowledgeable about answering questions and giving the tours. We took a tour twice for my mom because she had more questions and wanted to see the room again. They were fine with that and were very gracious. They asked for things that my mom might like, like a welcome package for her. They even sent her a wreath for her door, they baked her some sweets, and they came to her present address and delivered them to her to welcome her into the community, so they've been wonderful. They also helped with the paperwork, which there were lots and lots of papers to fill out, and they answered all of our questions."

"My mom lives at the Seasons. It's a community, and that's what my mom was looking for. Staying in a condo in a neighborhood where people don't gather very often was what she was trying to get away from. She's very involved. She started a rosary circle, attends exercise class, and they have outings to the theater, to Reds games, and concerts. She's busy. It's like living in a four-star hotel. The food is fabulous. The dining room is amazing. We hosted her 90th birthday party there, and they catered it, and it was excellent. She's got a full apartment. She has a large living room with a dining room off to the side, a small kitchen, a large bedroom, and a washer and dryer in the bathroom. She has a storage unit down the hall for extra stuff. She has a balcony with a table and chairs. They all know her by name very quickly. It's expensive, but they deliver. Most of the time, parking is fine. Once in a while, they have a big event, and then it's kinda hard to find a spot, but they have a big parking lot."

"My mother is moving to the Traditions of Lebanon. They have a wide range of apartments, in independent living they have a full kitchen and washer and dryer, but in assisted living they don't have that. They have outside spaces like a courtyard and a patio."
