"Silverfern Cincinnati North was clean and nice. The staffing was pleasant. The activities were phenomenal. They have so many things for the seniors to do. It was very impressive. Even with family engagement, they have a special room for the kids to play, which I thought was great. There's a fantastic place for them to play. You could have your seniors and your kids in one place and have that interaction. You could give time and attention to the seniors, so that was very impressive. I like the apartments more than the ones that we have at the other place because it is a little larger."

"I will move into Northgate Park. I've been there two or three times, and everybody has been friendly and accommodating and answers all your questions. One thing I liked about it was that because I'd lived in this neck of the woods for decades, I'd never even heard of the place. The gal said, "We rarely have any openings. In other words, we don't have to advertise. People go there, and they stay." The staff was very informative. I only had a lunch meal, but it was a hot meal. It was homemade. Two things they have: gluten-free and low salt, so all that is good for elderly people. The other menus have a variety and not just the same old thing. They're remodeling the room, new bathrooms, and everything in them. So, it should be top-notch when I get there."

"Aaron's Garden Senior Living & Memory Care was beautiful. It was great. There was nothing wrong with the community, but we wanted a single apartment for my father. We did not want a bedroom where he would walk out into the hallway. It was a beautiful setup. He loved it as far as if he was at that point to go there at a different time, yes, but not at this stage in his life. The people during the tour were very pleasant. It's very clean. The common areas were very pleasant."

"Evergreen Retirement Community was amazing. I got a chance to meet some of the occupants there. They have one area that has a stone wall. The facility is old. It was just a beautiful area. Everything was in place. They have a movie theater. You can have three meals, or you can call out and order meals if you want to. They have an exercise place and a place where you can go sit, drink your coffee, and enjoy the beautiful view. They have a garden where you can go and plant whatever you want to. The whole facility is just beautiful. They have walking spaces. They take great care of you. They have wellness checks, which I think is wonderful. They have little cottages sitting in different areas, and I love it. This is where I may be moving in. This was the best independent living facility I had ever seen."

"My brother is staying at Blue Rock Senior Living. There are very few residents there. My brother said the food is just tolerable. He says sometimes it's not that good, but he gets plenty of food. The room is very small, but he's making the best of it. I think they keep it very clean. The TV system that they have is Roku, so my brother cannot watch any Reds or Bengals games on his TV, and that's probably the biggest improvement they could make. There's one lady there who's been very helpful to him. She helped him set up his computer and other things. They do my brother's laundry once a week. They clean his room once a week. They have a stairlift, but it's very slow. Their courtyard and patio are very good. They have a very small library, so my brother goes to the public library."

"I visited the independent living community of The Summit of Blue Ash, and I liked it a lot. It's just that their 1-bedroom with a den is not really a 1-bedroom with a den. It was more of a 1-bedroom with a small corner that you could do something in. It wasn't even a room, but just like a larger closet. My siblings are literally down the road from where the facility is, so it's convenient for all of them. I like that it's centrally located. The facility is brand-new, so it's nice inside. Meals are all included, but they have a full-size kitchen in the rooms. They also have room for a dining room table and a living room area. I would prefer to have their 2-bedroom apartment because I want an office that is also a sewing room, so that's what I need the second bedroom for. If my kids also come, I have a second bed that they can sleep in. Even though the facility provides an apartment-type thing that they could stay in, that's on a first-come, first-served basis, so if somebody else has it reserved at the same time, then one would get it, and one would not."

"The Grove memory care unit at Ohio Living Llanfair provided excellent care for my mother. The food was very good. Activities were scheduled every day. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and respectful to residents. Personal care needs were addressed in a timely manner. The grounds outside has multiple seating areas with flowers, trees, a gazebo - very pleasant for visiting."

"Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community is excellent. We went to various places. We saw standalone places, we saw places that were kind of like apartment situations, and we saw the activity centers and that sort of thing. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. They have about everything you need to have from houses and two-bedrooms all the way to nursing home setting. I saw one of the restaurants, a game room, the area where they play outside, and their little lake or pool or whatever. They're very nice. The food was excellent. I had lunch there."

"The Wellington at North Bend Crossing was very nice. The staff was exceptional. I would pay for that one. It gave you more than the other place did as far as amenities. The staff was courteous. It was very clean."

"Deerfield Springs Retirement Community is a very nice facility. Everyone there is all independent. They've got a lot of interesting features that I didn't know about in the other retirement communities. The guy took me on a tour of the whole place, all the different rooms, like the exercise room, arts and crafts room, card tables, and theater. You name it, they've got it. I was overwhelmed, plus it's a very new facility. He showed me a couple of the one-bedrooms and also three-bedrooms. The only drawback I saw was they have a waiting list for two-bedrooms.The one-bedroom and the three-bedroom are currently available. It was immaculate, very modern, and very clean. All of the interior was beautiful. It was almost something I would see in Las Vegas. It's a resort style. People can come and go as they please when they want, but the nice feature that I thought was you can stay there month-to-month. There's no contract, and there's no entrance fee."

"We toured Traditions of Deerfield and I remember how spacious it was and how friendly the staff there that I'd spoken to. It was spacious where mom could go to different places and do different things, whether playing games here or watching TV over there. They didn't have a stove, but they had a refrigerator and a microwave. Everything seemed pretty nice and relatively new. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It's a good experience."

"I had an in-person tour of the Traditions at North Bend. I like it. They allow residents the opportunity to have social interaction with others but also have alone time if they need it in their rooms. The aides ensure that the residents are getting what they want out of their days, so it isn't like a structured schedule. The rooms are nice sizes, like a studio of 500 to 600 square feet. I like that they have outside therapy services that come in so that if residents want to get some extra exercise, then they can do that."

"I toured Seasons. I felt like I was in a country club. You walk in and there's this huge atrium that goes up how many stories. Everybody was very well dressed. I felt like it was kind of a country club community, but very nice and very new. Wow! The only problem with it was that they did not have any two-bedroom units available. We could not even see a two-bedroom unit. We didn't get a feel for what the two-bedroom would have been like, although I saw the floor plan and I liked it, but it wasn't available. But it's gorgeous. It's beautiful. The place was spotless and immaculate. Everything was new."

"We moved to Traditions of Lebanon. It had everything we were looking for, and the price was right. We go to dinner every night in the dining room. The food is pretty good. We'd be more clear if we moved here, so we think we made the right decision. It's a perfect fit for us."
