Assisted Living Communities in Lebanon, OH

"The Winfield at Middletown was pretty decent. It's a nice, clean facility. It looks like a place, and I feel my mom will be safe. The room I saw was also nice and clean. It looked old. They have outings, they played music, they brought in dogs that people can pet, and they have activities for the residents to participate in. They're not just waiting and sitting around all day. They have activities for you to make life more enjoyable. The staff was pretty good. They were nice, friendly, and accommodating. They tried to help me and my mom's needs. They're thoughtful and considerate and try to accommodate and make me feel comfortable that she's in their facility. The menu looks alright."

"Traditions of Deerfield is very nice and wonderful. The person who gave me the tour was wonderful and even though she just filled in for someone, she did a great job. The place is brand new and immaculate. There were a lot of activities going on and there was a gathering in the pub and there were beer and wine. They were having a great time. They're dog-friendly and were willing to provide solutions. It would be a viable option and I didn't think the price was out of line."

"Majestic Care of Middletown Assisted Living was very nice. The tour was informative. We liked the room. It had a little kitchenette and a nice walk-in shower. A particular unit had two closets and there were places for my mother-in-law to put her extra food. There was a refrigerator, stove, and that kind of thing. Also in the hallway, she would have her own locker that was very nice sized that she could put extra things in (whether it be coats, decorations, or whatever she wanted to put in it). They also allow small animals with a $500 deposit, and they are responsible solely for that. They take care of their laundry if they need it, and they change their bedding. It was all pluses for me. The staff during the tour was very helpful. She knew the facility well, and she took us to the different areas. We saw the salon, and we saw the activities area. All the areas we visited were very comfortable. They weren't dated. They were up-to-date. They had nice sitting areas in different locations too that were isolated if you want to go read a book by yourself somewhere. I liked that about the place too. She said they encourage people to come and join in activities. I thought that was nice too that they encourage them to come and join the different activities they have through the month. They give their residents a menu either for the week or for the month. Then they would choose what they want. They did not have the selection that the other place did. I think it was chicken and dumplings when we visited. Of course if you don't like chicken and dumplings, they do offer other things for the residents if they would rather have something else."

"One star for the owner of this place. When my husband was dying a former wonderful caregiver of my husband who my husband and the whole family loved wanted to come visit him but the owner would not allow her into the house! He had held a former disagreement against her and thus prevented my husband from seeing someone who cared about him from seeing him before he died. Remember I am paying money for my husband to live here. Secondly, after my husband came back from the hospital and was going to be under hospice care we found out a new resident had been accepted. This new resident was highly inappropriate for the house. She had serious mental health problems, was constantly shouting obscenities( several times in front of my grandchildren and also to a hospice worker) had a dog that was having accidents all over the house and she was allowed to smoke. All this was going on while my husband was dying. My husbands relatives wondered what kind of place we had my husband in. It was very bad. I would think twice about bringing a loved one here. "

"I'm living in Stoney Ridge Senior Living. The facility is nice. It's well-kept and everything, the rooms, I've only been in a couple, but it seems to be well kept up in everything. The people here are here, they're good. When you call somebody for help, sometimes it might take two hours, sometimes they don't come in at all, especially at night. The food is okay. It's not great, but I've been to nursing homes, and they're about the same. It's edible. They have something every day, they do a good job of the activities, like bingo, or card games, or they have like a music thing, or get together on Fridays and so forth. We have a lot of things here. They said it was cheaper, but it isn't."

"I toured Beehive Homes of Liberty Township. I liked the fact that they were small-scale. I felt like if I'd been there I could have gotten more one-on-one and more personal attention. It was a very clean facility. The staff was very caring. I have no experience with them, but just from what I observed, they seemed nice and caring."

"I liked it. Their technology is state of the art. They have sensors in every apartment that can monitor any type of quick movement. If an elderly person falls, it's almost like a heat sensor reading, it's kind of a blobby photo, but you can see and notify staff that the resident has fallen. I love that technology and that's in every apartment. I love the fact that the dining room is open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., so if my dad slept until noon and wanted breakfast, he could get breakfast. They had lots of activities. We preferred them just for that cutting-edge technology. We looked at assisted living, but we liked the fact that if it got to that, we could keep him in the same facility and just move him into memory care. Any time of the day, if a resident walks in the dining hall, they have a motion sensor that notifies the kitchen that somebody is there, so they don't have to have servers out in the dining room all the time. The technology notifies them that somebody has entered the dining room and they go out and take the person's order. The apartments were beautiful. There was a men's club, movies, card playing, board games, and jigsaw puzzles. They did excursions out into the community that residents could sign up for and take part in. They had guest speakers come in and talk about health issues and things like that, little info sessions that the residents could attend."

"We visited the assisted living facility of Fairmont of Washington Township, and it's really beautiful. It was just a little out of our price range. The lady who runs it was wonderful. She just had a really great personality and was very kind to my parents. My parents, my mom especially, loved her. She's very helpful, and she still calls every now and then. We were able to sample the food, and it was very good. It was nice that they had options on their menu. The facility was very clean and very nice."

"We were almost decided on Magnolia Springs Loveland, because they were so nice and knowledgeable about what to do with my aunt. The young lady that I met with was very knowledgeable, and she offered me the best information out of all the places that I visited. She spoke about the memory care unit, and she spoke of things that I hadn't even thought about, like about residents feeling confused and not realizing that it's not her home now. I liked the fact that when I walked in, it felt more like a hotel than a senior community. They have movie nights for the residents, they have bingo, and there are other activities they can do as a group or individually. I really liked this place; I was sold on them before I found another place that was closer to me."

"My dad has been in here for a month now. It is an assisted living, lockdown place. It is more like a home than an institution. It has a main shared living area in the center, and then on each side are five bedrooms. The place has two aides 24/7, and then during the day, there is an RN. They have a big kitchen, and they cook real food. Food smells great. My dad says it tastes great too. They cook from scratch. It is all about the patients there. It is really quite a nice comfortable place. This is a very warm family-oriented community. It is quite nice. I like it a lot. They are licensed for 12 residents. There is a patio which it is large, there is a small grassy area, and there is a covered porch. When the weather is nice, they can go out there. It is a memory unit, so you don't go wander the grounds. I like the place, and I like the staff. The place is new, so everything is new and clean. I found it to be priced more comfortably than the larger communities."

"I went to The Wellington at Dayton. They were very helpful there. I really liked it. I would have put my mother-in-law there if I felt that they had the facility as far as what she needs. I'm not sure it's a good match care-wise. I think she needs a higher level of care than what they were able to offer. They check in with me to see where we are on the whole thing. It was a little bit older and more practical than fancy."

"The rooms are lovely. Very comfortable and easy to get around in. Very nice dining room with meals and selections to choose from. The facility is kept very clean which was important to my mother. She has a great set up where she’s at that’s easy for her to use! Could go on for days about how wonderful the staff is!! It’s like family to my mom and they really look out for the residents. I always feel so welcomed when I come to visit! I’m so happy we found Storypoint!"
