"I will move into The Village of Westerville. The staff is very nice and the rooms are great. I have a bedroom with a living room, a walk-in closet and a refrigerator, a nice bathroom, and a walk-in shower. I have a paper that tells what activities are there and they look nice. They go shopping, and they have a beautiful dining room. When we were there, they served ham and cornbread and corn and mashed sweet potatoes, and they had a salad bar. It's very good. I liked the apartment well, and the manager was sweet, nice, and kind to us."

"We're happy with Oakleaf Village of Columbus. It's a good environment for Mom. She likes that the room size is fairly large for a studio. She has a full kitchen, which is something we were looking for. She has a full refrigerator, stove, and microwave. They serve three meals, but you have to buy the third if you want it. They have laundry, medication services, bathing, and clothing assistance, and they have a nurse there that will come in and check your blood pressure and weigh you daily. They provide trash collection and they have transportation to doctors' offices. I've eaten there and it's good. They have a lot of activities."

"Danbury in Westerville was one of the newer facilities that I saw. The staff was so helpful. They gave me a comprehensive tour explaining everything and showing me different rooms. I was able to see the one- and two-bedroom apartments, and they were very nice. They were spacious enough for one person to live in, and I liked it a lot. They had a large amount of activities to choose from. They also had a variety of food to choose from. I think that everybody would be able to find anything they like to eat there. They had a salon and a library. In this facility, you can go from independent living to assisted living to a higher level of care without moving out of your room."

"Springwood in Westerville was very quiet, very accessible, and clean. The staff seemed to be very accommodating. They have different trips that you can go on. They bus people to various places and they have a lot of activities onsite. They have all of the exercise types of things that you can use. The place that has the meals is right across the courtyard from the independent living. It's in the place for assisted living and you can take advantage of the meals there monthly."

"Harrison on 5th/Senior Star is a stylish building in a terrific location. The staff is amazing and always happy to help. They have many activities to choose from such as dinners out, arts and craft, movie nights, ect…. They also celebrate a different country every month and offer a fun event on Fridays to highlight the food and culture of that country. My brother lived in independent care and made many friends and was instantly part of a community. They also offer assisted living and memory care."

"My parents moved here from New York into independent living to be closer to us and we could not say more great things about the Forum. The people are beyond outstanding, the building and ground well cared for, the apartments are comfortable, the food great and the programing has a little something for everyone. Their response to the pandemic was first rate and showed just how much they care for everyone living there. If you are looking for a wonderful facility for yourself or for your parents, full of light, both literal and figuratively you won't regret the Forum!"

"StoryPoint Pickerington was pretty nice, but I'd like to have a patio. They have balconies instead of patios. I talked to one person and she was very nice. She spent a lot of time with me. She made copies of their floor plans that had the dimensions on it. The rooms are a little small. The dining area was nice, but not as fancy as the other place. They have garages for an extra $100 a month. I talked to the residents and said that they went to Scioto Downs the night before and they're pretty happy about that. They did some gambling. I looked at the sketches that they have and it was very nice. The food was very good. I was surprised that there were very few people in the dining room. I asked about that and they said that they get most of their residents there in the evening. Your lunch and your evening meal is included in your fee. I don't particularly like that. I'd rather have my lunch included and I would make my own breakfast and dinner. I thought the lunch was very good. I had a taco salad, homemade tomato soup, and a slaw. They had a real nice room where they watch movies and television. The exercise room was very nice. The resident I had lunch with had great recommendations for the exercise room. She said that the man who is in charge of it helped her tremendously, so that was good to talk to a resident."

"The Coventry Senior Living was very pretty. It's only been there for 14 months so it was the newest with the biggest rooms and the most activities. I met the woman who gave me a tour, I met two nurses, the chef, the dining room supervisor, and the receptionist. All of them are very friendly. They stopped at the table where we were talking and chatted for a few minutes. All of them stopped, except the receptionist, because she had to stay in the lobby. I did not eat there but I talked to the chef. He said that they don't open cans and they don't freeze their vegetables. All of their vegetables are fresh. That's the only place where I got any information about food. I just don't know what it would cost for my cousin to go there, and that was the drawback. They were a little vague. They said they're willing to do an assessment, even if we haven't decided she's coming, like on FaceTime or something, because my cousin is not local. So, they said they could do a long-distance assessment, then they could tell us which level of care she would be in. If I were younger and had unlimited time, I could do all these assessments and find out exactly what it would cost everywhere, but I'm not younger. They've got a beautiful library and three dining rooms connected to each other. It's beautifully laid out. It's in a busy neighborhood, a construction zone, so I wouldn't give the neighborhood a high mark, but the facility is beautiful. There's a parking garage."

"We went to look at Paramount Senior Living at Polaris. It looks like a fantastic place. It is brand new. They had nice people. It looked like they had staff that was adequate for everyone there. They offer salon services. They have a ton of activities that they do during the month. We got to meet the chef that does the food daily. They had bingo and movies. The rooms looked very nice. They had a walk-in shower and a place for them to sit down to shower. They had nice big windows to look outside."

"We toured the assisted living section, and it was excellent. The community is very welcoming. The person who gave the tour was very thorough and very good at what she does. She gave a very warm feeling about the place. The room was very good, and the bathroom was very large. The activities were excellent. They have a wide variety, and they were very appealing."

"I would have chosen Danbury Columbus for my friend because of the reception that we got when we went there. The staff that took us through that place was very knowledgeable. She spent a lot of time with us and she explained all the services that we really didn't know about that were available. She was just very detailed about answering all the questions that we had. They had occupational therapists on site. It was an older facility, so it's got some wear and tear but the people are the most important thing for us. There were several floors, so the elevators were large. The place was easy to navigate, and they had nice wide halls. The layout was very friendly and very open. I liked the fact that the dining rooms were right there in front, as soon as you walked in. So, you got a sense of community right away because there were people there. And another thing that I liked was that they don't have assigned seating in the dining room. "
