I went to Lorain Estates Senior Living. It was very nice. It was clean. It seemed like it was running well. Everybody knew each other. The only downfall was that it's like an apartment. There are two bedrooms, it shares one front room, and I don't believe my friend would like that because she doesn't like people around her that much. But other than that, I would rate it good. And if she was a person who likes people, I would recommend her go on there. You have to bring your own bed and stuff like that, but the other apartment, outside the apartment you share with somebody else, so if they've already brought a couch, you don't bring a couch. I don't believe she can live with somebody else right now. The staff member was very nice. He calls every week to see how my friend is doing and he's very nice and polite. He gave me all the information I needed.

We toured 4 facilities looking for just the right fit for our Mom. All were good, but Lorain Estates stood out as the best fit. They were very friendly and a smaller community, which is a better fit for Mom. The residents had good things to say about the facility, and this was when there were no staff around to influence their opinion. They are inviting and allowing us to come for lunch or activities prior to Mom's moving in so that she will be more comfortable and familiar when that time comes. Phillip has been so very kind to us and follows up regularly with us checking on Mom.

My mom stayed at Lorain Estates Senior Living for two weeks. All of us, the children, thought it was very positive and supportive. The staff members were very attentive and kind. We saw no concerns or problems with how residents were dealt with. My mom's room was very small compared to what she was used to. She had her own glider chair that we brought in for her. She had a TV. She was not used to sharing a bathroom, and there was one other person in the room beside her that shared that, so she wasn't okay with that. She had some plants in the windows. The upkeep was very good, and things were taken care of right away if there was any kind of problem. I thought it was clean and had very pleasant surroundings. The dining area was very well managed. The staff members that were there cared about the residents. They had a barber shop, but my mom never took advantage of that. We took her outside on the paths in a wheelchair, and she enjoyed that. I thought it was quite expensive when I first heard about it, but when I compared it with other places, I think it was just the norm. I didn't see it as excessive.

I liked Lorain Estates Senior Living very much. I liked the staff, and they just seemed friendly. Everything looked clean. They have their own staff. They're not from agencies and that's what I liked about Lorraine Estates. My mom was in daycare and the girl there was at her previous daycare, but even the other staff was nice. The rooms were comfortable and nice. They were a little bit smaller than the other place, but they were very well maintained. Even the rooms that weren't ready or just in need of paint or cosmetic type things didn't need repair. It was more like a home environment like you had your own room in the home. The facility was very nice, very well taken care of, and maintained as far as I can tell. They have a physical therapy area. They had turned the kitchen into temporarily a recreational area. They had a home theater-type area, too. The menu was nice and they had options. The place was like a comfortable home.

It was beautiful. I want to move my mom to their assisted living because they said that their memory care section will be quarantined off. The staff is absolutely wonderful. They post the menu up for the entire moth of what they have to eat, and they have activities all the time. They have one bedroom, two bedroom apartments, and efficiency. They do not have a stove or oven in there for them, but they have a mini fridge, a sink, and a counter top where you could put your own coffee machine on. You will have to provide your own furnishings for your apartment. The day that I was there, I met the gentleman who runs the activities. He is a wonderful Scottish guy, and he is absolutely amazing. They were throwing a Velcro ball at a target, and then they were doing walks around the circle (6 circles equal half-a-mile). They have a laundry room, so if you're still able to do laundry by yourself, you can. They are so wonderful. I didn't see the food, but it smelled really good. The layout of the place was wonderful. They were doing their Spring cleaning that day that I was there.

It was beautiful. I was very impressed with everything that I saw. The rooms were very nice. The person who assisted me was very professional. She continues to email me about specials that are going on, and she's very helpful. Everything was nice and clean. I liked it. The staff member gave me a list of activities that they have such as travel, games, and things like that.

It was good and clean, and they very informative. My aunt was very satisfied there. They provide transportation for appointments, they have someone come in to check, update, and tune up hearing aids, and they do Coumadin checks on patients who need it as well as diabetic blood draw. They take them on outings, sometimes they take them to breakfast and dinner, and they do games in the activity room.

It was a lot nicer than the other facility we saw. It’s very quiet without many people around. The community and rooms were nice, clean, bright, and a good size. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and informative. There really weren't many activities there. The dining room looked nice, but it was sort of isolated. There weren't many people around. It looked like a nice, clean place but seemed very lonely. They did have an activity calendar, but I didn’t see any gatherings.

I liked it a lot, but the apartments were too small. Everybody seemed very nice, and from what I saw, there would be no problem. However, after we saw the size of the rooms, we didn't go into any more detail. The location was good, and the amenities that they offered were good. The only complaint I have was the size of the apartments. Also, they allow pets, but the problem is come winter with the snow and everything, neither my husband nor I would be able to take the dog outside for a walk or even on a leash. They had no place that you could just let the dog out where it could be fenced in.

We're very, very happy with them for my mom. It’s a wonderful facility. The room is neat and clean. Mom finds the people there very friendly. The staff are very, very professional and very reassuring that they will take care of mom. Every single person that takes care of her from the therapist; PT, OT would call us and tell us how mom is feeling or progressing and that is a load off in my back. They accommodate the family any way that they possibly can. The food is very good and she loves it. She has been going to exercise class every day. If she does not like to eat breakfast in their dining room, they would bring her breakfast to her. She's going to lunch and dinner in the dining and she socializes. They set her with four awesome women who are very social. They also offer an open bar where they serve wine, beer, and dinner to the family and entertainment once a month and that is so cool.

It is a great place for assisted living only but as mom needed more advance care, there was no step up. They have a couple different patio areas and inside common areas. The chef area was very nice and they had a library, beauty parlor and a lot of different things.
