"Autumn Aegis seems to take really good care of my aunt. They have a lot of caring people that work there. They go out of their way at times to deal with her, because sometimes she can be a little difficult. She's been happy there and she gets a pretty well-balanced meal. The nurses are fantastic. They are very caring and compassionate. When I speak to the aides about something, they get right on it and take care of it, too. I like that they have quite a few different activities and she loves to go to most of them, from playing different games to doing crafts, music, having some beverages and snacks, exercises, and playing bingo. The building could use some refreshments and decorations though."

"On July 13, 2018 Theresa Rose Sedano passed away in the care of her Extra Special Family of caregivers at 101+ years old. A very special thank you to the many Caregivers, Staff and fellow residents at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home Lorain Ohio. Their love, friendship, attentive care and dedication to Theresa’s health, comfort and overall happiness and peace for more than 10 years was a treasured Blessing. "Kingston of Vermilion was a wonderful nursing home. It was very clean, and the rooms were comfortable. The employees were wonderful. They were all very friendly. All of the employees worked very hard. Unlike most nursing facilities, you could tell that they liked their jobs, and their patients. One employee even encouraged me to continue my schooling, and recommended a wonderful school for me to attend. They truly helped my grandmother have a wonderful stay. In the beginning, she was a little depressed about being away from home, but a few weeks in, she felt like she was at home. They did everything that they could to make her comfortable, as well as visiting family members and friends. Many times, nurses and aides would drop in and ask us if we would like something to drink, or some snacks. I have never seen that in any other facility. I would definitely recommend Kingston of Vermilion. "

"Wesleyan is expensive. It’s very limited on who can get in, and you have to commit to paying for a couple of years before they’ll allow you to go on Medicaid. It’s a very nice place, upscale, exclusive. It has a cafeteria, shop, and fast food. "

"I feel that this nursing home was a great place. My grandfather was treated with the up-most respect from ALL of the staff. The nurses were absolutely amazing to both my grandfather and the family. They always allowed us to come to be with him and made his room as close to home as possible. The food that they served was great and similar to home-cooked meals which made my grandfather much more comfortable. If we ever had any issues they were handled immediately and with respect. I would most definitely recommend this establishment to other people. I never once had a bad experience with the company and neither did my grandfather. They offered a lot of fun activities for their patients and even a beauty parlor on the inside. The held mini carnivals in the parking lot where kids would come and the patients would get to come outside and interact with everyone. It really was a pleasure getting to know all of the staff here. "

"Avon Oaks is well staffed. The number of people that they have there is good. My parents get a lot of attention every day. It's not the most modern state of the art place, but it's very clean. It doesn't smell or anything. The people are very communicative. I get calls almost daily if something happens or if they have a question or an issue. Even the administration is easy to get a hold of. I tried a couple other places and I couldn't get people to call me back. They're just overly communicative, whether it's social workers or nurses or attendants, so I think it's a pretty good place. They have all kinds of stuff there. They played bingo and they did a lot with them."

"I visited St Mary of the Woods. I spoke with four different people; the physical therapist, the lady that gave me the tour, and a couple of other caregivers, and I was very amazed. They have many activities for both people that are there for long term and short term. I was very amazed that they have bingo and road trips. I am very pleased with what they offer. They have a dining area for people that don't want to eat in their room. They have spaces outside their room and small tables that you could use if you didn't want to mingle with anybody. It's very close to my home, it's very convenient. The people that I spoke with were very helpful."

"My mother-in-law moved into the assisted living of Towne Center Community Campus. It's good, and she seems to be enjoying it. They seem to have activities every day, so she tends to like that, and she's doing good. The rooms are great, they're big, and spacious. The staff is cordial, and we do not have any issues with the staff. She said the food is pretty average."

"I visited my aunt at Christmas at Keystone Pointe. She is doing very well. Therapy has helped her to walk again and she is recurperating from her significant stroke. She probably will be home by new years. Facility is very clean and the staff are nice."

"Both of my parents were nursing home residents at the same time. It is a very nicely decorated facility and is family owned which I think to be a good thing. They had great holiday gatherings for residents and family, good food and entertainment. They accomodate a variety of religious experiences for the residents as well, which my mom enjoyed. The staff took extra special care in dressing my parents in clean, matching outfits. My mom's hair was always done nicely and they even took time to put her makeup on. They were on a waiting list to get the same room. However, I found it was nice for them to be in separate rooms. For one thing, if one didn't feel well the other didn't have to be present yet feel helpless as my mom would sometimes say. She felt bad that she couldn't take care of my dad, they were both wheelchair bound. The physical therapists were very good and attentive to my parents needs. The nursing home is within a short distance from a hospital which turned out to be convenient especially since when one parent was hospitalized I still had another one in the nursing home to attend to. Another thing I liked was all the socialization my parents received by being residents in a nursing home. Constant hustle and bustle of residents, staff, and visitors. And there are some quiet little nooks for more privacy when needed for those times you don't feel like sitting in your room yet you don't want to be around a crowd. "

"My brother is in Westlake Rehab & Nursing Center. He told me he liked the place. He doesn't like the food, but he likes everything else. For him, it's not that tasty, but it looks healthy. The place is very clean, and they take the residents out to activities which was great. They have several levels of care."

"I really like O'Neill Healthcare Bay Village. The caregivers are very nice and very qualified, and the nurses are excellent. They seem to really care about my mom and are attentive to her. The new wing is very clean and very sunny. The food is OK, but they don’t have that many options. It might be different in the other sections because she's in the memory support assisted living. The room she's in right now is pretty small but has a good amount of sunlight. She has a bed, a bathroom, a chair, a closet, and a couple of tables, so she's content there. The location is good, and the grounds are basic. When I visited one time, they were making milkshakes and watching movies. "

"My father is here. It is better than where he was at. I like it. The main issue was that he could have his pet with him there (because his cat is his whole world and more important than me). It was a more of a homey environment, as opposed to a hospital setting. It's not as institutionalized feeling. It looks like a Swiss chateau. It's nestled back in the woods. I didn't even know they were there, and I've lived in that neighborhood for over 30 years. The staff are excellent. They are really, really helpful. They call me any time anything happens or if they're going to do anything. Physical therapy comes in, and they let me know when they are there. They keep me abreast of visitations and what's going on. I'm very happy with them. My father loves their food. He is happy with his meals. I have seen him doing arts and crafts, but I haven't been up there when activities are going on. They give him a haircut once a month. They just took my father to go get his eye exam done, which was not free, but it was very reasonable. The fact of having that is a nice option. The staff have been phenomenal from day one. My father is in a locked ward. He can get access to the other parts of the facility, but he has to have someone with him. He doesn't have free range of the whole place. He can't go outside on his own because he has to be monitored, so he doesn't wander off. They have an ice cream or a malt shop in there. They have an actual bar in there."
