"I visited St Mary of the Woods. I spoke with four different people; the physical therapist, the lady that gave me the tour, and a couple of other caregivers, and I was very amazed. They have many activities for both people that are there for long term and short term. I was very amazed that they have bingo and road trips. I am very pleased with what they offer. They have a dining area for people that don't want to eat in their room. They have spaces outside their room and small tables that you could use if you didn't want to mingle with anybody. It's very close to my home, it's very convenient. The people that I spoke with were very helpful."

"My brother is in Westlake Rehab & Nursing Center. He told me he liked the place. He doesn't like the food, but he likes everything else. For him, it's not that tasty, but it looks healthy. The place is very clean, and they take the residents out to activities which was great. They have several levels of care."

"Both of my parents were nursing home residents at the same time. It is a very nicely decorated facility and is family owned which I think to be a good thing. They had great holiday gatherings for residents and family, good food and entertainment. They accomodate a variety of religious experiences for the residents as well, which my mom enjoyed. The staff took extra special care in dressing my parents in clean, matching outfits. My mom's hair was always done nicely and they even took time to put her makeup on. They were on a waiting list to get the same room. However, I found it was nice for them to be in separate rooms. For one thing, if one didn't feel well the other didn't have to be present yet feel helpless as my mom would sometimes say. She felt bad that she couldn't take care of my dad, they were both wheelchair bound. The physical therapists were very good and attentive to my parents needs. The nursing home is within a short distance from a hospital which turned out to be convenient especially since when one parent was hospitalized I still had another one in the nursing home to attend to. Another thing I liked was all the socialization my parents received by being residents in a nursing home. Constant hustle and bustle of residents, staff, and visitors. And there are some quiet little nooks for more privacy when needed for those times you don't feel like sitting in your room yet you don't want to be around a crowd. "

"We like Joshua Tree Care Center for the location and its very good service. The one downside is they don't have any type of courtyard that's secure for people to sit in but other than that, we're very happy with it. The rooms are on the small side but nice. My loved ones are in a one-bedroom that's fine and fits their needs. The dining room is nice. They're in the assisted living part. "

"I have lived at the Renaissance for over two years and am very satisfied with my Villa. I enjoy all the people and staff. The food is excellent."

"My father is here. It is better than where he was at. I like it. The main issue was that he could have his pet with him there (because his cat is his whole world and more important than me). It was a more of a homey environment, as opposed to a hospital setting. It's not as institutionalized feeling. It looks like a Swiss chateau. It's nestled back in the woods. I didn't even know they were there, and I've lived in that neighborhood for over 30 years. The staff are excellent. They are really, really helpful. They call me any time anything happens or if they're going to do anything. Physical therapy comes in, and they let me know when they are there. They keep me abreast of visitations and what's going on. I'm very happy with them. My father loves their food. He is happy with his meals. I have seen him doing arts and crafts, but I haven't been up there when activities are going on. They give him a haircut once a month. They just took my father to go get his eye exam done, which was not free, but it was very reasonable. The fact of having that is a nice option. The staff have been phenomenal from day one. My father is in a locked ward. He can get access to the other parts of the facility, but he has to have someone with him. He doesn't have free range of the whole place. He can't go outside on his own because he has to be monitored, so he doesn't wander off. They have an ice cream or a malt shop in there. They have an actual bar in there."

"My best option would be Wesleyan Village. They have everything there. As a matter of fact, they even have a skilled nursing home for my wife. They have assisted living. They have patio homes. The staff was really good. The activities program was full. Wesleyan Village was a big operation. It was expensive, but their system is set up that when you run out of resources, they will keep you under your expenses. "

"My dad was at Rae-Ann Suburban. I was not impressed with the facility itself. You walk in and you know you're in a nursing home. It was terrible. There were a couple of staff members there that didn't like their job, or they were just there because they had to be. I think they're shorthanded, and everybody was overworked. My dad ended up with COVID while he was in there, and he was ground zero, yet they still don't know where he got it from. And then they just locked him up in a room for ten days. It didn't seem like they really paid much attention to him. That was a pretty depressing time for him. However, the admission staff and his personal counselor there were topnotch. The patient advocate was really awesome, too. The food was terrible though. They need to improve on the variety and the portion of food. Sometimes they bring them a dinner that would just be a snack."

"To start off, my grandmother is from Youngstown, Ohio. She sustained a fall and afterwards loss some mobility--due to a broken leg and loss some cognitive abilities. Luckily, she had great insurance and my sister and I set her up at this facility. We were impressed with the staff, the room and the overall accomodations. Clearly, the manager and the staff were familiar with such a difficult process and made it work smoothly for my sister and I. We were given the rules but not in a way that made you feel like a kid but in a way that was designed to show you how they do things in their facilities. They set my grandmother up with a exercise therapist who was to help her daily in trying to keep up with her movements. They also kept sheets that would document her progress so I was always informed as to what was going on with her even when she could not respond. Overall, my impresion and the facility was with overall staisfaction. My grandmother was there for a couple of months before she passed. The overall sutuation was very heavy on the heart--draining emotionally and physically. But I have nothing bad to say about the facility. the best compliment I can give is that I did not notice them which means that they did not hinder the process in such a stressful time. "

"Apartment (rooms) are very nice. Living in new independent living building. Staff is excellent! Located in center of Westlake. Only a mile or 2 from any kind of shopping. "

"The long term staff took excellent care of my mother, who was with Riverview for over 9 years. No place is perfect, and at every place one needs to advocate for the best interest of their loved ones, but the facility is filled with some true angels, who care deeply about their adopted family. I looked at 7 facilities before placing my mother, and this was far superior. It passes the "sniff" test, it is clean and the décor non-hospital like, and the staff attentive. Of course, in my opinion they need more staff and some were better than others, but that's always the case. My concerns were always addressed. My only important complaint is that items were stolen from my mother's room after her death. Horrible, but likely the actions of one person."

"My mother in-law was a resident and we could not talk more positive about the care and staff . The administrator Candy S. truly has an open door policy if you have any concerns. I highly recommend candy S. and the staff at O’Neil healthcare"

"My mother and my sister have been at this facility on several different occasions. They have always received excellent care and were able to return home. The therapists are very motivating with a great deal of compassion. The nursing team was on top of all their care needs. The food was very good and they had lots of choices. On top of that there was plenty to do when they were not in therapy and the outside yard was a nice place to relax. The staff was amazing to work with. Thank you Life Care for giving us so many positive experiences. "

"My mom will be moving into the Towne Center Community Campus. It was the most expensive of all the places we looked at, and we chose it because it had the most options. Towne Center has assisted living, but they also have a nursing home. So years down the line, if my mom needs to move into a nursing home, she can stay all within the same development. The convenience of having multiple options in one facility as well as Towne Center will take Medicaid when my mom runs out of money. So in three years, when my mom's money has worn out, I won't be having to move her. She can still stay there, and Medicaid will pay for it. It's a one-bedroom with an efficiency of an apartment, with a kitchen, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a small sink, which is great. It's got a full library, and my mom loves to read. It has a game room. It's got happy hour every day. It has a nice little outside area where she could go outside to read her book. The one staff member that we interacted with was amazing."
