"The Village at St. Barnabas Health System was really well maintained and the staff apparently really cares about how they treat folks. They were very courteous and wonderful when we visited. The place is beautiful and it's self-contained if you want it to be. They have dining areas there, a store, a bank, a post office, and a movie theater. They even have trips to the stores. I just think it will work out well for my friend. The apartments in the independent living were very well taken care of. For every new tenant that comes in, they replace the rugs and paint. They were beautiful. For the dining areas, there were two restaurants. One was more informal than the other. The main dining room has white tablecloths and you are waited on. You could order your food from a menu and I think that's pretty amazing."

"Sherwood Oaks was a lovely community. They had little homes/houses, and I thought they were small and quite outdated. Of course, you had to go outside to eat your meal in the dining room and then you had to go outside to your garage. The only person I saw was a woman who took me on a tour, and she was very pleasant. They seemed to have a lot of very nice activities. The woman took me to an art studio where some of the residents were painting pictures on their own. They have a bell choir where people are ringing bells for music/playing a melody. I thought that was nice. I know that they have a lot of Bridge groups as well. I had a meal there, and it was lovely. I was very impressed. The building was lovely. It had lovely grounds and a nice little pond there."

"Cranberry Place had a very, very helpful staff. They were very caring. The food was great. I got to eat there with my father. They had all kinds of activities. They had a calendar posted in all the people's rooms of what was going on every single day and there was so much to do. It was great. There's a nice window view of the outside. They even have a garden in which they had birdhouses hung in so you can watch the birds outside, feed, and eat. It was just a very nice place. The facility was very clean. They were very proactive on COVID, wearing masks and gloves and testing people. They had movie days, bingo, small exercises, and games like Name That Tune. My father's insurance ran out and they were not VA-contracted, but they were very helpful in finding us a place quickly that was VA-contracted. They found that place for me in less than 24 hours. So thanks to them. They did the homework for me to find someplace to take my father."

"My mother was admitted for inpatient rehabilitation and has been in for a week. She is enthusiastic about the doctors and the nursing staff. They have treated her with courtesy and respect and go out of their way to accommodate her needs. A great example is Shirley, who ran to get her two containers of cranberry juice when she noticed my mom was not drinking her coffee on the dinner tray. This is characteristic of their attentive and caring staff. Mom feels that she is in good hands with the doctors and nurses. The therapy capabilities are good and she is making excellent progress. The Administrator takes the time to visit regularly. The room is clean and well maintained. Mom and I are well pleased and the facility earned high praise for their quality and compassionate care."

"I just want to take this time to give a shout out to the Concordia at Rebecca Residence in Allison Park. to all the staff from the front desk to all the care givers that treated my sister Nina with love, and treating her like their own family member. "Quality Life Services had physical therapy and a lot of things that worked for me and enabled me to do things more on my own than I was before. They're very expensive, but they had good, quality work. We were crowded. They were putting more people in rooms that were made for two people. The people who worked for them were very good, but overworked and probably underpaid. The food was OK. Certain meals were good quality and certain meals were underrated and not that great. There were things that should've been done, but they could not do that because they didn't either have the time or the capabilities to do them. It was not a question of how bad they might have been, but rather how good they were with what they had. They made the rooms as attractive as they could. They had movies in a big open area until the coronavirus messed things up, and they had to narrow down the number of people in one space. It's a pretty facility, and they were adding on. They had construction of another wing going on, on the other side of the courtyard. They tried to make a variety of food preparations and sometimes they succeeded and sometimes they didn't. They offered physical therapy there, and they had a lady come in that would do your hair."

"Cheswick Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, LLC is OK, but I don't see a lot going on there for the residents. I would hate to think of myself as having to live there. It's just not acceptable to me as far as the atmosphere. My sister is in skilled nursing there. She had a stroke and she's wheelchair-bound. Her whole dominant side is paralyzed. The facility looks fine. The staff is really good. They take good care of her physically, but as far as anything to do, it's boring and depressing. Every time I go to visit, she takes one bite of her meal and leaves the rest, and makes faces like it's not too good. It is very clean. They only have one elevator though, which bothers me because she's on the third floor and she's in a wheelchair. If there was a fire, how are they going to get everybody from the third floor and the second floor out with one elevator? That concerned me. With one elevator in the whole place and if it's out of service, they're stuck. I didn't like that at all. If you can do the steps, that's fine, but if you're in a wheelchair or have mobility problems, you're gonna die. The rest of it is fine. They have one big dayroom as soon as you go in with TVs and all. They also have a TV in their room. They had a few activities. I've been there once on the holidays when they had Christmas carols and a guy playing the guitar and playing Christmas carols, but I don't think there's much to do."

"My wife was a patient at Wexford Healthcare Center. I thought the care was excellent ! The therapy staff were so good with her - they got her up and walking within no time. The nursing staff took great care of her. The nurse aides got to know my wife so well that she knew each one of them by name and still talks about how well they took care of her. I would not hesitate to recommend them!"

"I went to Sugar Creek Rest to visit my grandma. The staff and all the services were excellent, and they had different activities for all the residents to participate in, and they were very attentive to her. They would take the residents on local bus trips where they had to sign up to go, and to their doctors appointments, or different hospitals. They also did puzzles, different crafts every week, like they make things out of little popsicle sticks, and coloring. They had a beauty salon, a chapel, a library, a snack store, a family room with different TVs, and fireplaces that you could sit in front of. It was very comfortable and welcoming. It felt like you were at home. They just renovated it last year or two years ago as well. The food was average though. They would offer her soups, different pastas, sandwiches, desserts, and my grandmother was a diabetic, so she had dietary restrictions, but they do have that. They offered coffee, juices, and water too. I believe, at certain times during the day, they had a soda fountain drink station, but I think because of COVID, they had to shut that down, and they had to give individual bottles of water or juices."

"My mom was in Vincentian Home and she loved it there, but it was too expensive to keep her there. But while she was there, everybody was attentive to her, and they would come in and visit with her. She was not able to go to any meals or any activities because of her illness, but the nurses and aides made her very comfortable and took care of her every need. She said the food was delicious. She doesn't eat very much, but they were trying to fatten her up a little bit so they'd bring her everything for each meal. She was so comfortable there that the last week we took a respite, she wanted to stay. She was so relaxed and happy there. So I would say excellent care and attention is given to each resident. It was clean, it was pretty, and kept well, and everybody was sensitive to her needs. Her room was perfect, it was just for her. It was not large, but it was decorated nicely. She had a pretty view from her window that she could look out and check to see what was going on, and she had everything she needed. She had a TV, and a recliner, her bathroom was modern and clean, and everything was spotless. So I would say it was a very nice room. She was very comfortable. I just think it's very exorbitant, it's like $450 a day, which is a lot."

"I recently had foot surgery and was fortunate to find an opening at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph for rehab services. My room was in the Ebensburg wing and the care staff was very professional and caring. Every time they attended to me, they always asked if there was anymore they could do to help. The food was good (other than spinach and broccoli). The menu was very diverse and with the ala carte options, there was always plenty to eat. I enjoyed working with the rehab staff. I had both PT and OT services and found both very knowledgeable and eager to find solutions to fit my needs. The room was very comfortable, containing a bed, recliner, dresser, tv and a couple of chairs for visitors. I also had a private bathroom, and both the room and bathroom were cleaned daily. Upon waking up in the middle of the night, I noticed that I was having difficulty breathing. Within minutes my room was filled with people. I was impressed with how fast they responded, how well they worked together as a team and how one nurse remained with me once my situation was resolved. That nurse sat with me and explained the vitals they took and how everything was normal and if there was an actual emergency, I would be taken to the hospital. My experience with Concordia at Villa St. Joseph was very positive and they helped me reach my goal of returning home."
