"Sherwood Oaks was a lovely community. They had little homes/houses, and I thought they were small and quite outdated. Of course, you had to go outside to eat your meal in the dining room and then you had to go outside to your garage. The only person I saw was a woman who took me on a tour, and she was very pleasant. They seemed to have a lot of very nice activities. The woman took me to an art studio where some of the residents were painting pictures on their own. They have a bell choir where people are ringing bells for music/playing a melody. I thought that was nice. I know that they have a lot of Bridge groups as well. I had a meal there, and it was lovely. I was very impressed. The building was lovely. It had lovely grounds and a nice little pond there."

"Cranberry Place had a very, very helpful staff. They were very caring. The food was great. I got to eat there with my father. They had all kinds of activities. They had a calendar posted in all the people's rooms of what was going on every single day and there was so much to do. It was great. There's a nice window view of the outside. They even have a garden in which they had birdhouses hung in so you can watch the birds outside, feed, and eat. It was just a very nice place. The facility was very clean. They were very proactive on COVID, wearing masks and gloves and testing people. They had movie days, bingo, small exercises, and games like Name That Tune. My father's insurance ran out and they were not VA-contracted, but they were very helpful in finding us a place quickly that was VA-contracted. They found that place for me in less than 24 hours. So thanks to them. They did the homework for me to find someplace to take my father."

"My mother-in-law was at Passavant Community. It was very nice, and the people working there were very nice, too. They had older houses and newer ones, and they also had amenities. Food was very good -- my mother-in-law never complained about it. There were a lot of activities like bingo, chair exercises, and card nights."

"These caregivers are top notch. I really believe they love my Mom because of the care she is receiving. They all pitch in to care for her. It is a beautiful thing in this detached world of ours. They are our cherished friends as a result of my Mom’s residency."

"It is a single floor facility. Mom has a roommate. It's a lockdown facility. She wears a bracelet and it sets off an alarm if she's near the door. They're very good with occupational and physical therapy, and adjusted her care to her needs. They're helpful with her medications and she's doing really well. They have a lot of activities for them and they have picnics. The employees provide entertainment and they have daily activities that residents participate in and go to."

"My mother was admitted for inpatient rehabilitation and has been in for a week. She is enthusiastic about the doctors and the nursing staff. They have treated her with courtesy and respect and go out of their way to accommodate her needs. A great example is Shirley, who ran to get her two containers of cranberry juice when she noticed my mom was not drinking her coffee on the dinner tray. This is characteristic of their attentive and caring staff. Mom feels that she is in good hands with the doctors and nurses. The therapy capabilities are good and she is making excellent progress. The Administrator takes the time to visit regularly. The room is clean and well maintained. Mom and I are well pleased and the facility earned high praise for their quality and compassionate care."

"I liked Masonic Village at Sewickley's plan and the way they set it up. You enter with an entrance fee and then you pay a monthly fee that never changes. You can go through memory care, assisted living, and nursing home, but the price never changes. It's always the same. In light of how expensive nursing homes are right now, it's a relief to find something that has that plan. The facilities were beautiful and very clean. You have a choice of villas or different size apartments and they were all excellent. If you move into an apartment, they put new carpeting in, new paint, and do upgrades. Some have had new cabinets put in. The dining area was very pleasant. There's also a workout room, an Olympic-sized pool, walking trails, a bus that picks you up, a woodshop, and lots of rooms for different reasons whether it's playing cards or making crafts. There's a little bit of everything. I've seen the list of activities and it's phenomenal."

"Valley Oaks Care Center is excellent. It's very clean and there was no smell when you walk in any time. The service is tremendous. My brother is being taken care of very well and we're just very pleased. They are always pleasant and very willing to help and do whatever needs to be done to make the residents feel comfortable. My brother is extremely picky though and he often does not get the food that he wants to eat. There are various activities, but he does not partake in them because he's not able to get out of bed, so he prefers not to go to anything. There are just various things that are not offered. They do not have a phone in the room and they have very limited television stations."

I have noticed that some nurses are so intent on their medication routines that they do not pay attention to the resident's comfort level. I have also noticed that some staff members spend a lot of their time chatting to each other about their personal issues. I do not know how these things compare to what is average. "

"The staff at Hillview home provide excellent care. The residents are always clean and dry and well-fed. There is regular entertainment and an in-house doctor who rounds monthly. Medications are dispensed with care and residents are monitored closely to prevent falls. Families are kept well-informed of their loved ones needs. The staff is kind and caring with the residents and everyone is treated equally. The home has a beautiful deck that the residents can enjoy in the warm weather. Meals are home made and residents are encouraged to Boise their likes and dislikes. There’s always plenty of food for everyone. Hillview is and excellent assisted living facility. "

"St. John Community was very nice. They gave us a meal. They took us through one of the empty apartments, and they explained everything available there. Everything was nice and clean. I would have moved in there if I had to right now. The staff that we met was very helpful, and they answered any questions you asked honestly. The food was very good. They had choices of four different meals, and if you wanted, you could have a pizza. They had a library and a gym. They had almost anything you would need. They offer bus service to stores and your doctor's appointments, too."

"My wife was a patient at Wexford Healthcare Center. I thought the care was excellent ! The therapy staff were so good with her - they got her up and walking within no time. The nursing staff took great care of her. The nurse aides got to know my wife so well that she knew each one of them by name and still talks about how well they took care of her. "My wife was at Covington Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation for about a year. I had no problem leaving her there. She was fine. They had a regimen that they followed every day and they watched over her. They worked on her medication. They took care of her recovery. The staff was caring, friendly, and skilled. The food was on time every day, a certain time, but if you wanted something else, you could go and get it. It's a beautiful place and it's clean. They have somebody that could cut and take care of your hair. They had bingo, too, twice a week which is something that you go with people to do things. Then every once in a while, a guest speaker would come and they had an auditorium where you could go and listen to them. They had things to do other than just lying around."
