"Sherwood Oaks was very beautiful place. The facility is very, very nice, but too expensive for me. Everybody was very nice there and the staff are very helpful. They took time and made sure that I got every information that I could get. They were very responsive to questions. "

"Cranberry Place is nice. It has everything that somebody would need. It has an activity room, a game room where people can go to, a barbershop, a hairdresser, Sunday worship, and a snack station room where you can get drinks and there's vending machines. It's clean and people seem friendly. My dad is in a shared room. The size is OK, but they could be a little bit bigger. The workers are nice and they take good care of the residents. They have a daily packet of information that comes with a list of all their activities all day. There's puzzles in there and a couple of stories to read."

"Lutheran Senior Life, previously called Passavant Retirement Center has a pleasant atmosphere. They are welcoming and appear to take very good care of their residents. "

"It is a single floor facility. Mom has a roommate. It's a lockdown facility. She wears a bracelet and it sets off an alarm if she's near the door. They're very good with occupational and physical therapy, and adjusted her care to her needs. They're helpful with her medications and she's doing really well. They have a lot of activities for them and they have picnics. The employees provide entertainment and they have daily activities that residents participate in and go to."

"My great aunt has been living in North Hill Health and Rehab for the past 4 months. She is there on a permanent basis. It took a good month or two for her to settle in. There was a lot of "I want to go home's." Now all she talks about is how she loves the place and does not want to go home. "These people take wonderful care of me." " They treat me like I am special." "I have made lots of friends here and I love playing bingo and doing all the activities." Needless to say this has been very comforting to our family. It is so nice when you have found a nursing home that is the complete package. My Aunt has not been this healthy in years. She is getting her meds correctly. She is eating 3 good meals a day. She is getting exercise. Most important she is socializing with others. She is never in her room. We, the family, are extremely happy with North Hills Health and Rehab. "My wife loved Masonic Village at Sewickley. I knew everything in it and I liked it too. I had friends that lived there. They had a hospital facility with doctors and everything there too. You could have your meal there in an instant. I had tasted the food and it was very good. The service was great and the people were courteous. The grounds were very well kept. The building was nice and the rooms were nice. I would recommend it, if they could afford it. "

"Valley Oaks Care Center is excellent. It's very clean and there was no smell when you walk in any time. The service is tremendous. My brother is being taken care of very well and we're just very pleased. They are always pleasant and very willing to help and do whatever needs to be done to make the residents feel comfortable. My brother is extremely picky though and he often does not get the food that he wants to eat. There are various activities, but he does not partake in them because he's not able to get out of bed, so he prefers not to go to anything. There are just various things that are not offered. They do not have a phone in the room and they have very limited television stations."

"I have been here for more then 6 years. I am alert and oriented. I can speak for myself when I need any kind of care. I have noticed that some nurses are so intent on their medication routines that they do not pay attention to the resident's comfort level. I have also noticed that some staff members spend a lot of their time chatting to each other about their personal issues. I do not know how these things compare to what is average. "

"It so happened that my sister had volunteered at St. John, so I was glad she could go somewhere that she was familiar with before she passed away. I saw activities on the calendar, but she wasn't able to partake in anything like that. They did try to encourage her when she was alert. The security was very good as far as I know. I had to stay at night sometimes, they were very caring as they made sure I was comfortable too, and I can't think of anything they could improve on frankly. I was very pleased. "

"My wife was at Covington Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation for about a year. I had no problem leaving her there. She was fine. They had a regimen that they followed every day and they watched over her. They worked on her medication. They took care of her recovery. The staff was caring, friendly, and skilled. The food was on time every day, a certain time, but if you wanted something else, you could go and get it. It's a beautiful place and it's clean. They have somebody that could cut and take care of your hair. They had bingo, too, twice a week which is something that you go with people to do things. Then every once in a while, a guest speaker would come and they had an auditorium where you could go and listen to them. They had things to do other than just lying around."

"My father was moved to this facility from a nearby hospital for the final stage of his life. He was only here for 1 week before he passed. The entire staff was wonderful. They went above and beyone to make my dad as comfortable as he could be. The very attentive and accomodating at a time when they could of just given up, They also made special arrangements for us when my dad's roommate was very mean and onery and not very happy we were always there. We stayed there 24 hours a day, only leaving to go home and take showers and change clothes. This was not a problem and the staff even took care of us bringing us juice, coffee and snacks. Although we not involved in any activities, there was always something going on to keep everybody busy and involved. They do have some animals in the building, like a couple house cats and birds. They do allow dogs as visitors which is great for those animal lovers. I would recommend Caring Heights if you are looking for a good home for your loved ones, "
