"Mom is all settled in here. We chose this because it was cleaner, they offered more activities, and it seemed to be in the right price range. My mom's room is excellent. It’s clean and very spacious. She is in a secured memory care and she has a room to herself so she got the privacy that she wants and along with the day to day attention that she gets. I did try their food and it’s excellent. They have daily care exercises were they sit and do flexibility exercises. They also enjoy when the children come in to sing. They have church service. They play some memory and matching games that keeps the residents engaged."

"Dad is currently at Magnolias of Chambersburg. The food is institutional, but not bad. My dad likes it. I think they are very caring from what I see. I did not see anything negative from the staff. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The facility itself is very lovely. The room that my dad is in has its own bathroom, and they are of good size. It’s very sunny and very nice. They have Bible study, and people come in to sing and entertain the residents. The director is very capable and very good with the residents. "

"I had an in-person tour of Penn Hall at Menno-Haven. The staff members were very caring. It's close to home. They have activities. They keep the residents busy. They play cards. They paint and play games. They take them out if the weather is nice. The meals looked appetizing. They seemed to do a good job with their cafeteria. They have exercise areas and outdoor sitting spaces. They had very nice apartments. I saw a one-bedroom apartment, and it had a kitchenette. They have shuttles, like some type of small bus."

"Menno Haven was extremely clean and very friendly. The apartments were very lovely, and they had a range of sizes and layouts. They had the whole facility modernized and opened up. They're just on top of everything and they're continuing to build. The staff member was so knowledgeable and so friendly. They gave us all the information that we needed to have. They have several dining areas to choose from and they are all beautiful. They have beautiful ground and walking trails, a well-equipped gym, swimming pools, and areas for table games."

"I am a resident of The Shook Home & Quarters at the Shook. It was clean. It was like a hospital setting. They were all good. The staff was good and friendly, and everything that you would expect. They have different things. They have arts and crafts and bingo. They have a dining room where you go and have your meals if you're capable. You always have your meds on time. The food was excellent. The people there really took pride in what they did."

"Providence was very nice, they have very caring people, and the residents there all seemed to be quite happy. It’s more assisted living, and we’d like to get something a little more independent. If it happens that we definitely need assistance, then Providence is a very good place to be. The rooms were comfortable, and they’re pet friendly, which was nice. "

"Great place to live with alot of activities, trips, as well as lots of shopping nearby. Residents always seem happy Staff is very happy and takes care to make sure the needs of the residents are met. It is very nice that they also have several other programs attached such as LIFE program which is a day program for residents to help them remain independent and have their services all in one spot. The residents here seem to be able to do what they want and are able to remain independent. "

"the residential options within the cottages and apartments are very spacious, completely redesigned and wonderful. You couldn't ask for better. The Assisted Living and rehabilitation rooms are also very spacious and well appointed. The campus grounds are beautiful and the country setting is scenic and beautiful all year round. Village residents have alot of food options including dine in, delivery, carry out and grab and go choices. Even in the health center there are always available items on demand in addition to the planned menu. Activities are plentiful and resident driven. It's a wonderful place."

"My parents were just moved into this facility. Everyone I have talked to that had parents there rave about how great it is. The staff are friendly and fast to respond to needs. If you are looking for a homey, beautiful location facility with caring, qualified staff. THIS is your place. They provide so much more than many Assisted Living Facilities. Activities, great food, exercise, outings, craft fairs, on site baking allowed by residents, laundry services, on site hair stylist, doctor and podiatrist. They even offer bed linens, towels, and personal toiletries. Medications have been on time and efficiently handled. I couldn't recommend this place any more than a 5, but would even go to 10!! "

"My husband moved into the The Leland of Laurel Run and it is excellent. It's an old building built in the 1800s. They have all kinds of things and games going on. They try to get the residents involved. They charge $1,500 less a month than all the other states around."

"My Mother is a resident at the Aprontree. On a scale of 1-10, this Personal Care Home is easily deserving of a 10 PLUS. being a smaller home, the residents get more personal attention and care. The owner of the home Betty, has to be an angel sent by GOD to oversee the residents as I have been in care homes costing 2-3 times per month what Betty charges and the residents do not get a fraction of the Love and Attention that Betty and her Staff provide. THIS IS TRULY A GREAT PLACE, AND BETTY IS A GREAT ADMINISTRATOR. "

"I have been in this home several times as a professional. Each time I was there I was disappointed. I visited in the middle of summer several times and found the home to be unbearably hot to the point that many of the residents were outdoors to escape the heat of the inside. I am not sure if they do not have AC or if they don't use it but they have had several close calls and warnings from governing bodies about temperature. I have also been here after a resident wandered out in the heat of the summer wearing a winter coat. He was found passed out and very dehydrated and was taken to the hospital. When I have been here to visit residents I have found the place to have a strong urine smell. I would not recommend this place for a loved one. "

"The staff at this facility was wonderful. The amenities were superb. Although I was touring with my mom and dad, I was trying to figure out how I could relocate there myself. The food was very good and the other residents were very friendly and open to offering suggestions and helpful hints. The location of the facility appeared to be in the middle of a corn field, yet it is within minutes of a mid-size city. The main limitation for my family was that the dementia unit was not a certified day care unit. Instead, if you wished to use the dementia unit (for my dad), then he would have to live there 24/7. He could not live with my mom in an apartment at the facility and go to "day care", due to a liability issue. He would be required to live 24/7 in the dementia and my mom could visit. That did not work for my mother. "
