The staff were all involved with the residents and all residents and from what I could tell everyone who was in attendance had a great time. "The people at The Retreat at Berryville seem very friendly and very open. Our experience has been pretty much hands off because of COVID, so what I can see is limited. There's a plexi-glass and you can visit in-between it. Their staff is very friendly and the community itself is very nice."

"My mother-in-law has moved in. I like the community. The people seem nice and caring. She has a nice room. They have walk-in showers. You furnish the room yourself. They seem to be caring and concerned about their residents. They have arts and crafts, and an activity room, and they have different kinds of activities there. It's not near restaurants or anything like that. It's pretty country. They have field trips."

"My grandmother was a resident at "The Willows" for 18 months. The entire staff,in all departments,knew my grandmother by name. They all took the time to speak with her and acknowledged her as a person. Our family was kept well informed of her status,so that we could make the appropriate health care decisions. Her care was a team effort,with the staff and family working together. The facility was well kept both inside and out. The Maintenance and Housekeeping/Laundry departments were always working to keep the facility clean and operating well. The dietary department made every effort to make her dining experiences pleasant. They took the time to learn my grandmothers likes and dislikes.The Activities department as well,spent time learning about my grandmothers interests,so that an activity plan could be made to meet her needs. I could go on about how all the departments truly made her stay a loving,caring experience for her and a comforting,reassuring one for us.We will always be thankful to "The Willows" for providing her with this truly personal,loving,and supportive cae. "We liked Somerford House, and that would be our choice of place to go. It was very clean. The people seemed very happy. I liked the rooms. They had nice activities. They had an outdoor garden area, and they had a lake there that they could walk around. They serve meals. They have a workout room and a library. "

"My dad was here. He was there for about two weeks before he passed. He was further along than any of us thought, including the staff. My experience was very good. The staff was across the board excellent. They treated him with respect and with caring the entire time. So I have only good things to say about their staff. My dad's room was a very nice, cheerful room. The group areas were also nice. They had some homey rooms and some joint rooms, which were very nice. They had good activities. On one of the days we were there, they had a little kid choir that come in and sing Christmas songs. They were very good with that. With regard to food, they did the best they could, but by the time my dad went there, he was not eating very much. Nevertheless, they did a good job providing things, like they had this super nutritious ice cream, and he would eat some of that. They were very sensitive to his needs at that point. There was a little bit more ground there, not a ton, but a lot more outside areas. It was pricey. But all of them were pricey, and this was the least pricey one."

"Sunrise of Frederick is a really nice fit for my father. When we first walked in, it was very warm and inviting. It was more like a house and a home than it was a facility. Everyone we've met there so far has been absolutely wonderful, and it is like a big family. They allow you to have pets. They have a couple of house cats, which my dad loves. They come in and sneak in his room to visit him every once in a while. He seems to really enjoy that. It is a very comfortable place. The residents always seem to be chatting in the hall and smiling. I enjoyed the entire energy I got from the place. They told us when we first moved him in that they would answer his call right in three minutes, and then if nobody got there in three minutes somebody would definitely be there in six, and he says they have not failed that promise once. As soon as you hit your call light, somebody comes in. They've already called a podiatrist to have his toenails clipped. When we first moved him in that first day, the nurse was in his room as we were unpacking his stuff, and basically gave him a physical check on his feet, his blood pressure, and listened to his heart. It was very thorough. It has been a wonderful experience. I have not tried the food, but he is a very particular eater, and he seems to really like it. They've actually gotten him eating three meals a day, where before at home he was drinking BOOST all day long and only eating one meal. He was actually eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner right now. They have all kinds of activities. They have a sign up sheet right in the lobby. They go to the mall to people watch, they take scenic drives, they have casino nights, and the day he moved in they had a big Thanksgiving dinner that they hosted, and all the families were invited. It seems to be just a really, really comfortable place. It is very homey. It is not at all like a facility. It's a little pricy, but it's honestly one of the cheaper ones that we found. It just seems more like a home than a facility. It's very warm and inviting. I'm truly grateful that we found it."

"My dad moved into Spring Arbor of Frederick. It was wonderful. For activities they do have a long laundry list of things like games, cooking, and social type things. I don't know what all of them are. It's wonderful, it's a new facility. The staff is very proactive."

"Mom was at Care Haven Center. We were very pleased with it. They were really good and it was very clean. I had good communication with the doctors and therapists. The staff was excellent. They were very happy and friendly."

"Countryside is very close to Martinsburg. It was newer, has better layout, nicely landscaped and very clean. The house was brighter, more open and homey. The rooms were very large. They had a bed, a chair, dressers and a huge space. The kitchen was a brand new, commercial kitchen. All the food was made in the dining room. It was a large dining room with several long tables. They had a sitting room and a great, big family room. The families are responsible for transportation but the staff was very friendly. I do know they had holiday get-togethers. "

"We are going to move my brother to this area and are looking for nursing homes. We have called 3 times in the last 2 weeks for an appointment and no one has returned our call. We called for a 4th time this today and the person who answered the phone gave us the phone number to call for an appointment and to ask for Tammy. When we called this number and asked for Tammy the man who answered the call did not know a Tammy and was very confused. We repeated the number 3 times with the first person we talked with so we are sure we were calling the correct number. We will not be calling again or pursuing placement here."
