"The staff is polite and refers to many of the residents as "grandma." On holidays I've seen employees who did not have to be at the facility, show up to be with the residents. I've heard them say that the residents are extended family for them. The amenities are nice, clean and well taken care of. The food is good. The nurses and staff are polite and friendly. Residents are talked to respectfully and volunteers are educated to also respect the resident's privacy. The volunteer program is a good one, volunteers are appreciated and a banquet is given for them yearly. With their assistance, the facility offers special events at every holiday and on weekends. Holidays involve volunteers singing, giving out snacks and presents, as well as spending time with the residents. Special activities on regular weekends may include from singers (individual and choir), movie marathons, craft activities, ice cream socials and dog visits. Residents are encouraged to be as active as possible. "

"At this point, NMS Healthcare is okay. They're doing their job, but I was not overly impressed that it's a wonderful place for a loved one to be. Part of it is just the fact that when they have care plan meetings, they can't give me any kind of prognosis on how long they feel the recovery would take and what their plan is. I struggled to get information out of them, that's one thing. Also, the facilities are kind of outdated. At first, the room is shared with three other people. I thought there were too many people in a room. There's physical and occupational therapy. But because of the way that it's staffed, you have to wait to get things done just to get helped. I guess make it a better place to work, so that they're staffed adequately and they don't have high turnover and stuff. To be honest, I'm not really impressed. "

"My mother is in Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village. I like it, but it's expensive. It's clean, and I haven't found anything that made me nauseous or turn my head. The staff's attitudes are good. However, the doctors would not return my phone calls. They are not very susceptible to the concerns of relatives, but the nursing staff and all the other staff were. The dining area is very clean and looks very nice, and her room looks well maintained."

"This is the only place that I didn't like from all the places we've toured. It's far from where we live. It's not that I wound not recommend the place, but it's not the place what we needed for sister-in-law. The rooms were definitely big, but those are shared rooms and she was not interested in shared rooms. They look more like a hospital facility. The staff that toured us was very nice. She tried to help us out and gave us pointers. They just need to update a lot. "

"We are going to move my brother to this area and are looking for nursing homes. We have called 3 times in the last 2 weeks for an appointment and no one has returned our call. We called for a 4th time this today and the person who answered the phone gave us the phone number to call for an appointment and to ask for Tammy. When we called this number and asked for Tammy the man who answered the call did not know a Tammy and was very confused. We repeated the number 3 times with the first person we talked with so we are sure we were calling the correct number. We will not be calling again or pursuing placement here."

"Quincy Village was very nice. The people were so nice. They talk to you, and they explain everything to you. There was nothing that I didn't like. The staff during the tour was wonderful. She answered every question I had. They had a gym and a library, and they were all very nice. They had a porch that you could sit out on, and they had a gazebo. They even had a model train layout. It was very clean."

"I think this was a nice place. It was fun hearing what the older people had to say. At one time this old man was trying to leave through the front doors(he had bad memory problems). He was caught right away. They keep very good eyes on the residents. "

"Mom was at Care Haven Center. We were very pleased with it. They were really good and it was very clean. I had good communication with the doctors and therapists. The staff was excellent. They were very happy and friendly."

"The staff is great, very helpful and attentive. The setting is very nice also. I would recommend this facility. My mother was here for about 2 months for hip rehab. I can't speak for long term care, however we were very pleased. "

"My mom is in Manor Care. So far, it has been pretty good. If there is any problem or anything else, they keep me well informed on what is going on. I also talk to my mother at least 3 or sometimes more times a week to know how she is doing. The biggest concern is the amount of staff per resident, and I know they go through some hard times. I know sometimes at mealtime or getting ready for bed, it does take a while to have that accomplished. However, as far as security goes, it seems OK. They seem very good about taking care of them and everything. The food is what you will expect in a place like that who has a lot of people, but my mother says most of the time it is tasty. My mother is usually in bed most of the time. They take them down for therapy. When my mom goes there, I am thinking to myself that she will probably not come out. To my surprise, she is doing quite well and walking with a walker. As far as the recreational part of it, she is only gets a bit of much to do and recreate with anybody else. "

"Until my grandfather's death, he stayed at Homewood assisted living/nursing home. It was an optimal situation, because as he grew sicker and weaker he was able to move from merely an assisted living situation to full-time care. Every time we visited the staff was always kind and curteous, and my grandfather loved his time there (well at least as much as you can in his situation). The amenities were excellent. Until he grew too weak, there were buses that would drive residents to various locations around down. There was also a church on site that had services. Many student from town would also hold piano recitals in the chapel, and I am sure the helped many of the residents' spirits. Even in this difficult time, Homewood was able to make it a little easier to let my grandfather go, and I would suggest this home to any friend who asks. The only negative thing I would say is the food could use a little more diversity, but it wasn't too bad. "

"The rooms were cleaned and straightened daily. The staff from housekeeping to therapists were always helpful and respectable. always showed respect and helpfulness and always respectful of my needs. most important they were always good natured and good company. I would have been proud to call any of them my friend. All activities in which i participated were either help or enjoyable. The classes while sometimes seemed difficult were perfectly suited to my needs. The staff were always cheerful and helpful. I was actually a bit sad to part with them. I would have been happy and proud to all any of them my friend. As far as amenities, what can i I say? the food was always scrumptious and served happily. The housekeepers were all very pleasant, as were the nurses and all the aides. In short I am very glad was accepted as a patient there. Once again my thanks and appreciation to the staff and facility at Citizens. "

"It's a government facility so they take people who have Medicaid. What's timely about my friend's stay is that they will be moving to their brand new facility in 2 weeks. Also I like the fact that they take care of the patients and the facility does not have a smell when you walk along the hallway. I find the people there very nice to deal with. I think with the staff there, some are good and some are still learning. The head staff takes care of everything when there's a difficulty. My friend is not that wild about the food but I think it's been recently good. Apart from medical attention, he is also helped by being moved from his bed to his chair and back twice a day. I think that with Citizen's Care, if you pay more, you could probably get a lot more service but for what he can afford I think they've done a good job. "
