When my dad fell in the bathroom they put him to bed and told me he was OK when they called me. This very talkative man next could not even form a sentence the next day. The charge nurse told me that she did not work on that unit and she thought that was his baseline ability to talk. Come to find out he had hid his head and his brain was bleeding. The Office of Health Care Quality cited them for neglect. Months later my dad died of a stroke because due to the brain bleed he could not take the blood thinner for his heart. Do not send a loved one to NMS.

My mother went to nms to get stronger she ended up with pneumonia and a infection shoulder because they didn't take X-rays and her health completely declined. My mother went to the hospital and she has to take antibiotics, now nms claims they do not have a bed for her...do not send your loved ones to nms! The healthcare @ nms is terrible!

Having had personal experience with NMS with my sister a patient there for 3 months, and my father, who was a patient there for 3 weeks and ultimately ended up passing away, I feel NMS could have done more. My sister went in for rehab and came out worse, and my father went there just for rehab and steadily declined. He needed assistance in drinking and eating and I feel the staff didn't really care. I would go there 2 to 3 times a day to make sure he drank and ate. When I had made plans for his discharge, his health declined rapidly. On January 27, 2016, I received a call that he passed, when I saw him that afternoon he was so thirsty and hungry, my opinion is that should not have been the case. I would not recommend NMS to anyone.

At this point, NMS Healthcare is okay. They're doing their job, but I was not overly impressed that it's a wonderful place for a loved one to be. Part of it is just the fact that when they have care plan meetings, they can't give me any kind of prognosis on how long they feel the recovery would take and what their plan is. I struggled to get information out of them, that's one thing. Also, the facilities are kind of outdated. At first, the room is shared with three other people. I thought there were too many people in a room. There's physical and occupational therapy. But because of the way that it's staffed, you have to wait to get things done just to get helped. I guess make it a better place to work, so that they're staffed adequately and they don't have high turnover and stuff. To be honest, I'm not really impressed.

First day impressions and experience. My mother was admitted for a short term stay. I live out of stat. I went to the office to set up telephone service in her room( at 10:00am). It is after 6:00pm and her telephone is still not hooked up. Also through out the day I tried to call the Nurse's station the telephone just rings and rings. I made an effort to visit my mother this morning she seems to be very uncomfortable. She arrive there last night. She said she tried to get help to go to the bathroom and she had to wait so long. I was there this morning she had to go to the bathroom she rung the bell. No one was there to be found. I stood outside the door. Approx. 7min. I caught a nurse. ( My mother can not walk at this point- she is there to get PHY Th). She walk up the hall to get a pot. (took several min to come back) I had to get her attention in the hall. I asked did you find one. Her express was like she never went looking. I asked do you have a bed pan. She found on in the draw. Right now I can not rate this home well. THEY NEED MORE WORKERS. RIGHT NOW> I hope I can rate is better later.
