Our father was in AL at Homewood Frederick for only three months. Our experience was terrible. After some minor cognitive issues the third week he was there the administration told us “you need to look for another facility”. They did not support him or the family in any way. The activities in Assisted Living are scarce with most being on TV. There are no activities after 3pm. We asked for a lightbulb in the hallway to be changed as our father has very low vision and it had yet to be changed when we moved him out three months later!! We asked for his level of care to be reassessed as they were charging us highest level of care but he was independent in all of his daily activities. We never received a reassessment- we never received a post move in care plan or meeting for any concerns we may have. It was terrible and the most expensive AL in the area. The nurses and med techs were wonderful but did tell us to make sure we complained to the top.

Independent Living patio homes are very well done. Dining/Food Service is extremely disappointing. Furthermore, there is a minimum $ per month food requirement that given the continuing poor quality food service is difficult to satisfy.

Homewood at Frederick was beautiful. The backdrop was the mountains. They have a bunch of different accommodations. If you want to be in a little house, they have that, and then they have two sets of apartments. One was connected with assisted living, so you could be independent in that particular apartment or you could be assisted. The other building was called The Lodge, which is independent living only, and that was beautiful, too. It was very, very clean, very new, and very modern. The lady that showed me the community was very informative and courteous. The apartment was a very good size compared to some of the other ones that we had toured. Even the smallest one was a very good size. It has all the nice appliances, such as solid surface countertops and luxury vinyl flooring. It was nicely set up. They also have a pool, a patio on each apartment, another big large patio that is right in front of the main area, an exercise room, a yoga room, art classes, and a whole list of activities. For more active residents, they do trips/cruises once a year.

Staff doesn't make noisy residents quiet down at night.

Unfortunately not allowed inside during covid-19 pandemic but I feel a lot of the staff was inexperienced and did not have time to properly engage my parent in activities or any type of stimulation. She was put in a room and watched TV all day. The social worker was very unorganized and repeated questions numerous times. I am not at all impressed.

My mom was here for 10yrs. The whole time she would say things about the staff stealing from her and not taking care of her. We chalked it up to her overall unhappiness until it was too late. We actually caught the night staff not responding to patients calls for help including our mom. They did not do routine 2 hr checks overnight they sat in the dining ignoring the residents in their care. This was witnessed on multiple occasions by suprise late night and early morning visits. When we complained to management they acknowledged the problems but fid nothing about correcting them. For the ridiculous amount of money they charge this was horrifying to find out. The day and evening and wekend shifts were very good. But knowing the huge problems with their overnight staff I would highly recommend surprise visits at odd hours and a nanny cam to capture everything that happens if you place a loved one in this facility in Frederick MD.

Homewood at Crumland Farms was a beautiful new place. It had beautiful apartments and wonderful activities. It was just a lovely and perfectly wonderful place. It had several places where you could have your meals. It's like a hotel. It had a swimming pool and all kinds of exercise machines. It had a bus that can take you to your doctor's appointment, and it had dentists, doctors, and nurses on staff. You're pretty well taken care of in that place.

I thought Homewood was great, but the location is still not good. It’s not walking distance to restaurants, theater, or shops. That’s my main objection; I don’t even know such a place exists. I like the facilities, the apartments, and everything about it except where it is located. The staff was extremely helpful; they walked around with us, showed us the entire place, and were extremely accommodating. I like this place better than the other one; very pleasant and more than inviting. If the location was good, I would move in tomorrow.

The visit at Homewood at Crumland Farms was wonderful. It’s an excellent, brand-new community, like going to a Marriott for vacation. It is wonderful. The staff members had great credentials. The people living there were happy. I couldn’t say enough. I have an aunt that lives there, and she loves it.

Homewood At Crumland Farms was very nice. I love the setting and variety of things to do, like the library and media stuff. It used to be a large, adult senior community, which was very nice. I really like everything they had there. However, the staff person just assumed that I was not going to be affordable for my mom. She never even went to any of the finances with me. She didn’t really care, and she was trying to discourage me from coming.

Homewood is outstanding in all respects. The staff is caring, supportive, helpful and respectful. The food is actually pretty good too! They also have many activities for residents, and there are many special events where people come to Homewood to provide entertainment, concerts, parties, etc. It is very clean, beautifully decorated, and has a nice layout including a large library, café, dining rooms, communal sitting areas with gas fireplaces etc. The healthcare center provides excellent care for those who need either long term care or rehab. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

Until my grandfather's death, he stayed at Homewood assisted living/nursing home. It was an optimal situation, because as he grew sicker and weaker he was able to move from merely an assisted living situation to full-time care. Every time we visited the staff was always kind and curteous, and my grandfather loved his time there (well at least as much as you can in his situation). The amenities were excellent. Until he grew too weak, there were buses that would drive residents to various locations around down. There was also a church on site that had services. Many student from town would also hold piano recitals in the chapel, and I am sure the helped many of the residents' spirits. Even in this difficult time, Homewood was able to make it a little easier to let my grandfather go, and I would suggest this home to any friend who asks. The only negative thing I would say is the food could use a little more diversity, but it wasn't too bad.

My Grandmother lived the last 3 years of her life in Homewood in the Alzheimers area. This is the greatest place i could have ever imagined placing her. Workers were unbelievable, so nice and caring and sweet. Entrance to building always seasonally decorated, with a church and library. Unlimited things to do. Alzheimers area even held 2 dogs that would live with the patients and were the sweetest things. Outdoor area was beautifully done with a pond and walkways and a large gazebo. So happy we found Homewood for my grandmother. Thank you Homewood!
