"We toured it. It was lovely. I wish I could live there. It was so beautiful. I thought the facility was great. They did have a special at that time for how much it would cost, which was also great. We learned that with the level of care that they have, they do not put railings on the bed. My father-in-law must have railings on the bed because he cannot move or walk, but he could fall out of bed. The staff was lovely and informative. The structure and cleanliness were excellent. It's only less than five years old. The layout was very nice for someone who can take care of themselves, but if they needed more assistance, the doors seemed to be kind of far away from someone in a bed calling for help, but I'm sure that they've had other measurements, but we just didn't go into it."

"I toured Victory Haven Senior Apartments and it's a very nice place. It's very clean and nice. The staff was very courteous and had the information that I needed. They have an exercise room and an activity room. It was nice. I did not see the bedroom because they didn't have any empty apartments for me to see. They have a garden and a dining area. The place is near some shopping centers, and I think a restaurant is around there, too."

"Victory Court Senior Apartments would meet my needs, but it's just that I don't have enough income to qualify. They showed a one-bedroom. It's comparable to where I am now, so it would meet my needs. It was clean coming into the facility. They had all of the amenities that would be able to keep a senior active, like an exercise area and outside area where you could have a little garden. The staff is very patient, informative, and told me not to give up. They told me some ways to get the income increased."

"I've toured Cadence Living Olney. It was nice and lovely, but it was a couple of thousand a month that I was willing to do. All of them are expensive, but Cadence was nice because it was brand new, so they had everything you needed in the same kind of situation. But I wasn't as happy with the companion suites as the other place, they didn't have actual separate bedrooms. They had a half wall that came three-quarters of the way down, but it didn't go all the way. So you weren't alone if you wanted to be, and there was no door to close. That's the only thing I didn't like about them. The staff members were very personable, and the one who gave the tour was very nice. She was very, very nice and knew her job very well, and took us for a whole complete tour of everything that we needed to see. Their dining area was nice. When we went people were sitting down and eating, and they had helpers to feed them, so it was good. They have a separate room for watching the television, they have a separate room for exercising, they have one room where there's a big screen TV and you can do activities like online bowling and online stuff like that. So it was kind of interesting. You can exercise with the TV and it was a very nice setup. I would have gone there in a million years if it wasn't so expensive, but it was just a little too pricey. It was so brand new and everything was perfectly clean, you could still smell the paint."

"It was outstanding. The dining room was clean. It looked great, and there were some people sitting in it. The library was very nice. The people there were professional, very friendly, and helpful. The service they offered is convenient. I was very impressed."

"I've been here before, so I knew I liked it. I just wanted to go back to make sure that it was something that I thought she would still be interested in. The staff seemed really nice. They had arts and crafts and bingo. They have transportation for them to go to different activities, like the community center for seniors, and they would actually transport her back and forth to dialysis. The lady I met with was not very personable. I like the facility because it was nice and clean. The rooms were a nice size, and they just seem to have more to offer. They're not too far from restaurants and the grocery store. "

"My friend was at Hessler Heights Gracious Retirement Living. They don't necessarily provide services. It is a place where they provide an apartment, and then they provide meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). They have activities. They provide cleaning once a week. The housekeeper comes in and dusts, mops and, vacuums. On every floor there are washers and dryers, so residents can do their own laundry. It's not in their apartment. It's provided, and it's not very far from the apartments either. There are multiple ones throughout the floor for the residents to use. They have a small physical therapy room where they can go up and use the equipment. They have a theater. They have a movie night. They have other scheduled activities. They were given nutritious meals. Their afternoon and evening meals were pleasant. They were size-appropriate for retired people, and they're filling. They have a heart-healthy meal available every meal or something else. They have a variety, and you have your choice. And you could have just a sandwich if that's all you wanted. They're prompt with their meals. They also provide transportation on certain days of the week. The staff knows the residents that are there. They have a really good finger on who's doing what."

"Modena Reserve at Kensington was very nice. It was located close to restaurants, but it was just a very expensive place. The staff was very nice, and it was nice of them to refer me to something in the price range that my brother needed to be. She didn't try to push me away, she just tried to accommodate me even though she knew it was way over what we could afford."

"I liked Wingler House. The apartment was pretty nice. The bathroom was a little small, and the kitchen was a little small, but it had a pantry for the kitchen, which I liked. The person who toured me was fine, but not very pleasant. They had more activities than some of the others, like exercise classes. They also had vans that go places."

"Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Living was a very nice community. The one that interviewed me was very helpful, very kind, and answered all my questions. The rooms were very nice. Everything's in there. If I want to do my own cooking, I can, but they have prepared food. They provide some activities. They do some sort of painting and some ceramic activities if they want to do it themselves. I didn't meet any other staff except the receptionist and the one who's in charge of showing the community."

"My family member has been here for >2.5 years. The nurses do an excellent job of communicating important details that I need to be aware of. The wholesome, vegetarian meals are served family style so the residents all get to sit together. The beautiful country setting with large porches to sit outside are also welcome especially with the visiting restrictions from our pandemic. But I’m super happy that they’ve kept everyone safe. The rooms are nice size and with private toilets. Prior to the pandemic, there were many activities and visiting opportunities and I’d often stay and participate."

"I toured The Sanctuary, a Mount Jezreel Senior Housing Community, and I like it. It is really good. It is nice and large. I like the floors, the bathroom, and the shower. I like everything. They put a new microwave in there. They have a lot of outdoor space. There is a huge parking lot that goes all the way around the building. It's got a lot of wood and stuff. It's really, really nice around there. I had an interview with them, and I paid the $35 application fee, and I was supposed to be getting a call back from them. It is like a private apartment, and so I guess you buy your own groceries and cook your own food. However, I'm pretty sure if you need some food that they will look out for you. The staff member who gave the tour was very respectful and very thorough with what he showed me."

"I toured Hunters Woods at Trails Edge. The layout is gorgeous, and it's a nice setting. The people that I saw seemed very happy and engaged. It was different than the others because I didn't see many people even though they were full. I saw their dining area, but I did not try the food. Their dining area looked nicely maintained, clean, and pretty. It was a nice presentation. The rooms were very nice, too. There are different sizes of studios and different sizes of one-bedrooms. It's good that there's a good variation even among the rooms. The staff member who gave the tour was fantastic. She was very, very good. She answered all my questions. They have a different pricing model than most places, and she was able to explain it well. I was very impressed with her. There is a beautiful set of walking trails. Even if it's just for residents to sit on the balcony and enjoy the pretty wooded areas and the people walking along the trails and all, it's a beautiful setting."
