"My friend moved to Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Community. I like that it is convenient and the staff is very helpful. It offers a good meal arrangement and it's convenient for people who are somewhat mobile. It's very well laid out. It's only about three and a half years old, too, and it's accessible. It has a very nice dining room. It's a very clean and well-kept facility. I liked the staff and the fact that the meals seemed to be very nutritious. They have a very nice dining room. They have beverages available 24/7, or pretty much during the day, up until maybe 7:00 or 8:00 at night. They have a number of garden patios and you have a little deck attached to each apartment. They have a nice garden atmosphere. They offer religious services periodically, a couple of times a month, hair services/beauty salons, and stuff like that. They also have a movie theater, a library, and entertainment room. It consists of about four floors. They have an elevator to get people to and from."

"I do live here and as far as I know this is independent living…. I have had no major problems and minor problems have been taken care of immediately and my interaction with staff has been fine….this is an over 62 community and I find that the people who complain the most are the really “crabby” ones to start with!!!!!!They complain about everything!!!!! "I toured Victory Crossing. They had a wait list for three to four years. It was very nice, and I couldn't see anything that was negative. Everything was positive. The apartment was perfect for a single person like me. Nothing further I can actually add to that. They have everything I could use or need. So, I would give it an A-plus. The staff who gave the tour was perfect. She explained things to me, and she took me on the tour. Inside, the interior was fine, but outside, there was snow on the grounds, so I didn't see very much. Everything was neat and clean."

"The mood and spirit of the place. Location was important since I wanted to be near daughter. Being back in D.C. Area in a great place to end my days with interesting, educated people to spend my time with. Great programs to choose from. "

"We looked at The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center. It's two years old, so everything is brand new. It has nine-foot ceilings, so it's a very spacious feeling. They have a continuing education program that sounded very interesting. However, I probably won't be able to afford it. Nevertheless, the people working there were very friendly and knowledgeable about the place and what they offered."

"Chevy Chase House was very clean and in a great neighborhood. The staff was spectacular. The apartments were spacious for the most part but were missing some amenities in the bathroom, such as a seat for somebody to sit in while taking a shower. Also, there was only one washer and dryer per floor for the residents to share. The menus were spectacular at the place. Even the food was available any time of day, which was great. The only other thing was that the elevators are incredibly small."

"My parents are moving into Kentlands Manor today. They like it a lot, it looks good, with wide open spaces, it's clean, and the people appear to be nice. It's a great place, with a nice location. They seemed to be playing games, they play piano, hang around, and talk to each other. The staff was helpful, and amenable."

"My experience with the assisted living provider was all around pretty good. The staff was very friendly and did all they could to make my uncle comfortable the whole time he was there. They also did a good job at accommodating to mine and my family's needs when we went to visit. They seemed to genuinely care about all of the residents there. Also the facility itself was overall well kept, occasionally some things would be dirty, but as a whole it was clean most of the time. The environment itself was usually cheerful so it was a very welcoming place. "

"The rooms are very spacious! I am looking for a 1 bedroom for just myself. I don’t want a lot of space, but rooms are great sizes. The area has almost everything you need shopping, dinning, church, entertainment, home improvement supplies,metro and parking. At the time I visited the building was quiet, I’m sure there are times when it’s not. But I live inside my apartment. That doesn’t bother me. I like the apartment. I’m still looking but this may be it!!! Take the tour!!!"

"We chose Chesterbrook because of the price. The rooms are nice, they're apartments. The food was fine, you could order. They have different types of activities, games, movies and field trips. "

"Golden Rule Plaza is very accessible for seniors with disability. They have the amenities that accommodate them. I rate them a 4 because of the location really, where the building is versus where there are shops. The staff was very helpful, as far as giving me the information necessary to apply. They're pretty clean and upkept. I've read the reviews, and they had pretty good reviews. That's why I kind of chose them."
