I have had no major problems and minor problems have been taken care of immediately and my interaction with staff has been fine….this is an over 62 community and I find that the people who complain the most are the really “crabby” ones to start with!!!!!!They complain about everything!!!!! "We looked at The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center. It's two years old, so everything is brand new. It has nine-foot ceilings, so it's a very spacious feeling. They have a continuing education program that sounded very interesting. However, I probably won't be able to afford it. Nevertheless, the people working there were very friendly and knowledgeable about the place and what they offered."

"Chevy Chase House was very clean and in a great neighborhood. The staff was spectacular. The apartments were spacious for the most part but were missing some amenities in the bathroom, such as a seat for somebody to sit in while taking a shower. Also, there was only one washer and dryer per floor for the residents to share. The menus were spectacular at the place. Even the food was available any time of day, which was great. The only other thing was that the elevators are incredibly small."

"My parents are moving into Kentlands Manor today. They like it a lot, it looks good, with wide open spaces, it's clean, and the people appear to be nice. It's a great place, with a nice location. They seemed to be playing games, they play piano, hang around, and talk to each other. The staff was helpful, and amenable."

"My experience with the assisted living provider was all around pretty good. The staff was very friendly and did all they could to make my uncle comfortable the whole time he was there. They also did a good job at accommodating to mine and my family's needs when we went to visit. They seemed to genuinely care about all of the residents there. Also the facility itself was overall well kept, occasionally some things would be dirty, but as a whole it was clean most of the time. The environment itself was usually cheerful so it was a very welcoming place. "

"Rainier Manor is excellent, and it's a really good community. I was impressed with the place. They have nice facilities. I have nothing negative to say about it. The staff greeted me well and the person who showed me around also did well. They answered all my questions, there was a nice exchange, and it made it easy to enjoy the visit. They showed me the older and new facilities, and both were nice. I also saw the 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments, they were nice. It's easy to picture yourself in there, although I would prefer if they were larger."

"The rooms are very spacious! I am looking for a 1 bedroom for just myself. I don’t want a lot of space, but rooms are great sizes. The area has almost everything you need shopping, dinning, church, entertainment, home improvement supplies,metro and parking. At the time I visited the building was quiet, I’m sure there are times when it’s not. But I live inside my apartment. That doesn’t bother me. I like the apartment. I’m still looking but this may be it!!! Take the tour!!!"

"I think my favorite of the ones I've visited, the ones that felt most comfortable, was Chesterbrook Residences in Falls Church. You get a certain feeling when you visit this place; it feels homey. The staff was very accommodating. One of the things I noticed with the people who were living there was that they all seemed very happy to be there. They were very friendly and accommodating, and they didn't really pressure me to make a decision. They were very helpful in showing me what was there, but there was no salesmanship. It was in a very quiet, residential neighborhood, away from traffic. It was only three stories high, with very pleasant-looking grounds, gardens, and places to sit outside. It's older than the other places I've visited. It's been around for quite a while. The other thing that I liked about it was that it was non-profit. It's in an area that I'm already familiar with in Northern Virginia."

"Golden Rule Plaza is very accessible for seniors with disability. They have the amenities that accommodate them. I rate them a 4 because of the location really, where the building is versus where there are shops. The staff was very helpful, as far as giving me the information necessary to apply. They're pretty clean and upkept. I've read the reviews, and they had pretty good reviews. That's why I kind of chose them."

"It is all about the people! In August 2024, we moved from the Farrcroft subdivision (Fairfax) to The Trillium Tysons. At the time, we could not have anticipated how much we needed to be at The Trillium or how much The Trillium family would change our lives for the better. In our Fairfax community, we knew 6 people but were genuine friends with only 2. Within the last 6 months at the Trillium, we have acquired 100+ new friends among residents and 60+ among staff. We enjoy friendships and opportunities for socialization with residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care apartments. The residents and staff represent a diverse population from around the world with richly inspiring experiences to share. Personally, we have had a few unexpected health issues in the last six months, but we have felt the support, loving embrace of the Trillium community that would ordinarily find only in a close-knit family. The facility is gorgeous throughout the 15 floors. The restaurants accommodate individual needs/requests and consistently offer 5-star meals daily. There are so many exemplary daily activity opportunities that one has to choose among them. These include guided physical activity, arts and crafts, education, games, and entertainment both within The Trillium building but also excursions into the larger metropolitan community. Apartment maintenance, housekeeping, and transportation services are provided expeditiously at the highest level of quality. Have there been a few glitches in a newly constructed building? Of course. Could some processes be more efficient? Yes. However, the overall collective experience is extraordinary. Moving to The Trillium is one of the best decisions we have made in our long lives. We have rediscovered joy in our senior years. We consider ourselves blessed and fortunate to be living at The Trillium surrounded by such wonderful people."
