I have a lot of friends who live at Maplewood Park Place. I think they do a very good job. They are rated quite high in terms of quality. So it seemed to me to be an ideal place for people who are retired. They have various groups for playing games and reading books. They have a library and a recreation center where you can exercise there. The staff members are very nice. The food was good. I had dinner with one of my friends who newly moved in there. They have the amenities right there, and they would even be able to drive you to places. I don't usually see too many people moving around there, but I know they have events and meetings on Friday nights. I know they have different clubs. I saw the gym.

Maplewood Park Place was lovely. The apartments were lovely. But you're buying an apartment, and there is an entrance fee. There's a monthly fee, and then there's the purchase. But they all provide food in one form or another. They give you 27 meals a month, so it was like one meal a day. I cook, so I may not have dinner every night in their dining room. They have an indoor pool and a courtyard, but they don't have any balconies. The person who took me around was great. We had a wonderful time. It's beautiful, and they have fresh flowers everywhere.

I toured Maplewood Park Place for independent living, and the staff gave us an excellent tour. She took us into one of the bedrooms that I'm interested in, and we didn't have anything negative to say about that. Overall, the place was excellent and the gal who gave us the tour was great and very, very friendly. They have a sunroom and a 1-bedroom, and some of the rooms had a den. We were there on a Saturday at lunchtime, so there weren't many activities going on but we saw a lot of the residents coming out for lunch. The gal taking us around always would introduce us to them. In terms of amenities, they have everything and they offer everything. They have a gym, and they have various trips you can take where you just sign up on the sheet, and she mentioned to us that they have three meals a day if you choose. The staff that I met were all very pleasant.

The lobby at Maplewood Park Place was like a five-star hotel. So, it was just expensive and the one-bedroom apartment we saw was very small for the higher price they have. Also, they had much older seniors in there, and I'm looking for a much younger environment, but they had more amenities because the building was much bigger. They had a library and a bigger parking area. They offer transportation, too. They offer visits to museums or different surroundings.

We visited Maplewood Park Place. The rooms were very nice, and the dining area was very fancy. The activities were amazing. They had trips to museums and shows. I only met the person who was giving me the tour and she was very good. The facility was very clean. There wasn't very much outdoor space from what I saw.

We were very excited when my father moved into the facility. The location is great, the facility is well maintained, and the staff is pleasant. However, this is not the place to go if you are retired military. The facility residents are not happy people. This unpleasantness, discontent, and liberal bias runs throughout the resident population. My dad is not happy there, and has had a steady decline on his outlook on life since he moved in 2013. As in life, a key component to happiness is the disposition of the people around you. These folks are not happy. If you care about that component, consider another facility.

I have lived here with my husband since the opening 15 years ago. We have a large several bedroom apartment and the services and maintainance are first rate. The meals are good and are well served by a friendly staff. Maplewood is located in a residential community that is good for walking. There is shopping and services close by via car. The facility also provides transportation to shopping, doctor appointments and local events. The is a good exercise program including a pool and fitness instructors to work with you. Billards have become a very popular diversion and we have matches with other facilities. There is also a strong community outreach program that includes knitting for Childrens Inn and food collection for the needy. Finally there are garden plots available for those who wish to grow flowers or vegetables. This is a very agreeable place to live.
Very pleased

MPP is a superior complete continuing care retirement community for independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care. It has been in existence for 15 years and is managed by Sunise Living. It continues to get high marks from state inspections and has been rated the leading such community in the Bethesda area by Bethesda magazinne. MPP offers a wide variety of services and activities on and off the site. Residents have a major voice in conduct of affairs including the budget and monthly fees. My wife and I have een satisfied residents for 15 years.

Very nice facility. Includes independent living, assisted living and nursing care arrangements. Staff seem very helpful, and food in the dining room is good. Also, there are a lot of activities for the residents, including shuttle bus services to nearby cultural events as well as to churches and grocery stores.
