"I liked it a lot and if they're still in business in a couple of years, I think that's where I would end up. The lady who gave the tour was lovely. They had everything anybody could ever want and they all seemed in good shape. Everything seemed lovely. I saw the gym, the swimming pool, and the exercise facilities. I saw the rooms where they had functions, the card room, and the library. I pretty much saw everything."

"No one from the staff of The Lewis Apartments met me, but one of the tenants showed me around. She showed me the 1-bedroom apartments and where all the sitting lounge areas and things were. She was there to help me because no one showed up to meet me. I loved the place, and I'm praying I can get in there because it's close to the subway, so everything is perfect. It's a very friendly community, so it's someplace I would love to live. They've already invited me to their Christmas party without even knowing if I'm going to get in. The 1-bedroom apartment is the best size for me. It has a little island in it, and I just loved it. The place was very clean, and I saw maintenance people out there working. The residents there said they have plans every weekend. They do something every weekend in the community room, and they showed me the other areas where people meet and sit in little computer rooms and things of that nature."

"I like The Belnor Senior Residences very much. I like the amenities, the property highlights, and even the units. The kitchen was open and spacious. I like the floor plan, but they don't have enough closet space. The other features as far as the property is concerned, the laundry space and the fact that they have a community garden and greenhouse, I liked everything about it, even the reserved parking for the residents to make sure that we have enough parking. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The tour was very thorough. My questions were answered because there were just two features that I was interested in: the kitchen and the closets. You have to prepare your own meals."

"Cogir of Old Town, Alexandria was very nice. It's a little bit older and a little bit smaller than the other place, but they have the option of both my parents being in the same unit, so that was nice. The food was delicious. We had lunch there. We had nice conversations with people. All of our contact people have been very helpful. One guy resident was very friendly and nice. A lady came and talked to us at lunch just to say hi. It had a nice homey feel to it. They had a unit in the memory care that would have accommodated both of them, so we're considering. They have lots of nice common spaces. It's not a huge high-rise. It's only to the fourth floor, and there was a really nice patio, a big outdoor area on the fourth floor, on the roof basically. The staff was excellent. I was impressed with the chef. The rooms had a little bit less square footage. Everything was very clean and well-kept ."

"I toured The Sanctuary, a Mount Jezreel Senior Housing Community, and I like it. It is really good. It is nice and large. I like the floors, the bathroom, and the shower. I like everything. They put a new microwave in there. They have a lot of outdoor space. There is a huge parking lot that goes all the way around the building. It's got a lot of wood and stuff. It's really, really nice around there. I had an interview with them, and I paid the $35 application fee, and I was supposed to be getting a call back from them. It is like a private apartment, and so I guess you buy your own groceries and cook your own food. However, I'm pretty sure if you need some food that they will look out for you. The staff member who gave the tour was very respectful and very thorough with what he showed me."

"I toured Modena Reserve at Kensington. It was beautiful. It was open and light. I liked the restaurant set up for the dining. It was very pleasant. They had a lot of activities, and the rooms were nice. Everything was great. The staff was wonderful, very pleasant, and very helpful. They had a lot of lectures. They had music, physical therapy, and other therapies in the building."

"My 86 year old mother was at Chesterbrook Residences for 9 month before she died peacefully in her sleep from heart problems. She loved Chesterbrook Residences, her apartment, the people there who became her friends and the many diverse activities. "I went to Victory Crossing in Silver Spring and spoke with the manager. They said you have to have a specific income that I don't have. I was able to tour their independent living community, and I like it. They were very nice and new. I think they built it in 2017. The staff was also very nice. They really want to give the spot to me, so it's not their fault. They also showed me the apartment and explained how everything works."

"My mother moved to Cogir of West End Alexandria's memory care. It's a very beautiful community. The attendance of the nurses is very helpful, and the support staff is very supportive. The director is very welcoming and very friendly. The buck stops with him. He takes action immediately if you need something. I haven't had a complaint, but in my experience of trying to get what my mother needed, I can see that he's very receptive and quick to implement what it was that she needed. The staff he gave me to deal with was also very receptive and very professional. I'm very pleased with them. My mother's room is good. I've seen the food and the menu, and they look very healthy. They have activity after activity. Every hour, they're changing and doing something with the people. They take field trips, art sessions, and music sessions. They do let the residents watch TV, but it's not a situation where they're sitting in front of the TV all day. When they watch TV, it's usually a movie in the evening. They don't have the time to watch TV during the day because they're moving them around to different activities."

"I found the Paragon Assisted Living Potomac House Communities for my father. It's a group home. He moved in and he loves it -- the best place he's ever lived. This was perfect for him. The staff is great, my father feels very special there, it's very small, only eight residents, so it's very individualized. It's like they really care. He has the same, consistent people all the time. They have a chef who comes in every day and prepares the food. It's a brand-new facility, it's not even a year old. It's well-maintained. They clean the room every day. They have nice, big, open hallways. They have minimal activities, and they could probably do better for people who have the ability to do stuff. They're a great alternative to a bigger facility."

"My mom moved into Resilient Care Assisted Living. We chose them because the people who were there with them gave them the attention and care, and they did activities with them. They had a great selection of food. They made the food from scratch for the people living there. It is in good condition. Everything was there, and I was very happy and satisfied with them. They made sure that their patients got medical care. They made sure that the physicians showed up there to check on all the patients. Her apartment is spacious and comfortable. They make sure that she gets out and walks. They play games, dance, sing, and do many different things."
