My 86 year old mother was at Chesterbrook Residences for 9 month before she died peacefully in her sleep from heart problems. She loved Chesterbrook Residences, her apartment, the people there who became her friends and the many diverse activities. I am so glad we found Chesterbrook Residences and we are only sorry we had not found it sooner!

About Chesterbrook Residences in Falls Church, Virginia
Almost 15 years ago, three faith communities came together with a common goal to build a home for older persons of all financial means that feels like home; offers personal choice; provides a wide range of high-quality assisted living care and services; is located convenient to loved ones, friends, and familiar places; and offers an enriching environment for residents to thrive. Chesterbrook Residences believes that assisted living should be affordable without large entrance fees and with reasonable monthly rent and service fees offering value without sacrificing quality for our residents. We chose Chesterbrook because of the price. The rooms are nice, they're apartments. The food was fine, you could order. They have different types of activities, games, movies and field trips.

We could not be happier with the choice of Chesterbrook Residences for my mother-in-law. Moving her from her long-time (50 years!) home in WV to an assisted living residence more than 100 miles away was one of the most difficult things we - and she - have ever had to do. Today, she says (and often) that if she can't continue living at home, she would want to live at Chesterbrook. Compared with several other places we had visited, the place was alive! Residents were engaged in activity. The dining room is like a restaurant. The staff (ALL the staff, from the executive director to the janitorial staff) are unfailingly friendly and gracious. The facility is filled with light. The environs are peaceful, quiet, and tree-filled. The food is delicious. There are more expensive places out there, but truly none of them could be better for our loved one than Chesterbrook.

My mother has very limited vision, so she needed a small environment. She has a very spacious 1-bedroom at Chesterbrook Residences. She moved from a small home, so I was concerned about her ability to adjust to a smaller environment. The apartments are wonderful and she's very comfortable. Given her limited vision, it's really very appropriate for her. I was able to paint the color of our choosing and moved in all the furniture that she wanted. The food is fabulous. My mother raves about the food, especially the soup. It's a stable staff, there's not a lot of turnover, and they're very friendly and very caring. They have trips to the Kennedy Center, to restaurants, the local food market, and shopping trips. There's also movie nights, game nights, exercise classes, and they have people coming in playing the piano or a professional dancer who comes in once a month and dances with the residents. My mom is much happier.

Chesterbrook Residences is a fairly new place, so everything is very nice. The apartment has living room, little kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom. They have different activities every day like chair exercises, bingos, and every night they have movies. They do take them to grocery store, doctor's appointments, go on a trip and see the autumn leaves. Everybody's very friendly. They learn new resident's name very quickly and they always call them by name. They have nursing staff 24 hours a day. Recently, she twisted her ankle and they have physical therapy on site. It's been very good.

It was a very nice facility, very well kept and had a nice garden, although not as spacious or fancy as another facility I had seen before. The lunch menu looked very good and they had a lot of options, and all of the other residents we got to speak to were very nice and seemed quite happy with the residence as well as the staff working there.
