My father is a reminiscent resident on the 3rd floor at Sunrise McLean since June 2021 as part of their 6-week Road to Home Program to recover from surgery. He was weak & frail but, the staff brought him back to being healthy & vibrant again. The disease was progressing and knowing that I could no longer give my father the kind of care he needed, I made the difficult decision to extend his stay. I could not be happier with that decision. The staff on the 3rd floor – from the management team to care managers, to PT/OT, to the front desk, & finally, the facilities staff – are the best. I go nearly every day, & the care is consistently excellent. It takes a unique set of skills to give care to reminiscent residents; Sunrise McLean hit the jack pot with the staff on the 3rd floor; residents are treated as family, w/love & affection; the staff works as a team and in partnership to give the best care to their residents. Sunrise McLean, keep up the good work!

We toured Sunrise of McLean. It was a positive experience. They're still undergoing some renovation, but there was not a problem. The people were very welcoming. We liked the environment. We looked at a studio. It's not that large, but it would be adequate. The director of sales, Jessica, took us on a tour, explained everything to us, and did an excellent job. The dining area was somewhat under renovation, but it'd be more than fine. There's a lot of arts and crafts type of stuff, movies, and other things going on. We didn't pay a lot of attention to it though. The nurse is going to come out on Monday and evaluate my wife for assisted living or memory care. If she's memory care, she's on the third floor, and it's a much more restrictive environment. If she's in assisted living, she could be on floors 1, 2, or 4 and it's different.

I went to Sunrise of McLean and toured the place. The friendliness of the staff was good. The rooms were nice and they were centrally located with fire extinguishers marked and so on (I worry about fires all the time). I only met the people mostly through walking the hallway, but they were always talkative and polite and it seemed like a very friendly place. You could get food 24 hours a day. I'm a very early riser and they were willing to adjust their food schedule to your schedule. They have a restaurant type of dining. It was very nice and clean. They also have very nice lounge areas, a library, and so on.

I toured Sunrise of McLean. I saw everything they advertised. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very nice. The staff were very helpful, very professional, and well-informed. However, it's only for those that can afford it. If you can afford it, they're top of the line.

I visited Sunrise and it has the worst location because it's not a cozy and relaxing kind of setting. The staff was fine, they were pleasant. The apartments were all full. They need to freshen up the paint and the furniture.

Everything was great, but it is expensive. The rooms were very plush, and they have a lot of activities. The dining area was big and very nicely furnished, and their menu looked good. I think Sunrise of McLean is probably one of the best facilities.

Sunrise was okay. The rooms were fine, the staff is nice, the food is very good. I can't say anything negative about them. It had to do with price. They have entertainment, they go on trips, they play games. It's a pretty place.

Mom is in Sunrise of McLean. This is the one that really hits all the buttons. It is more upper class and closer to home. What I like best about it is that it has a very homey environment. The staff is wonderful. They are really good, very thorough, caring, and they make her feel important. They have a good range of beautiful rooms. We have four or five rooms to choose from. We got the one closest to her personality that will make her feel at home, and I know that she can handle it. It isn't overwhelming. The food is delicious, and they welcome visitors, which is nice. Their dining area is very pretty, clean, and homey. They have a lot of activities, which we can pick and choose from. They have walk-in manicures, which she loves. They have movies and bingo. They have a dance instructor who comes in and dances with the ladies. They have a social hour everyday with different teams.

Sunrise of McLean, from all other facilities, was the one we thought was the most suitable. Dad is on their dementia floor. The facility is very nice. The rooms are good, and the food is of very high quality. They do have many activities. They bring in people who play music, or they play games. I like that the staff are very attentive; they talk to my father a lot and interact with him. They are very, very friendly and very helpful.

I found the employees and staff to be particularly nice and thoughtful although one in particular was not this way. I was given a tour of the facility and felt that they offered a good deal to their patients as well as providing family involvement and supportive services. The facilities were nice although the rooms did seem some what small and I would of liked to see the residents interacting more as many of them were closed off in their rooms watching tv or sleeping.

My grandparents lived in Sunrise for several years. They moved there from another facility located in D.C. to be closer to our family, and because Sunrise has a good Alzheimer's unit, which my grandmother badly needed. The facilities here are beautiful. There is a nice garden to stroll in, and the lobby is spacious and has an eating area and a large common area, as well as side meeting areas. My grandparents' apartment was large and comfortable. The Alzheimer's unit on the third floor has a lot of activities for the patients to use, such as a piano, dress up clothes and playthings. Alzheimer's patients get their own kitchen on this floor and the nursing staff is extremely helpful and friendly.Grandpa was a little annoyed because on the third floor there are no locks on the doors and thus Alzheimer's patients would wander in and out of his room without him being able to stop them. While annoying, I understand why they would have a policy of no locked doors here. What we liked most about this facility was definitely the staff. My grandmother behaved very difficultly at this time and the staff was very understanding and compassionate with all of us.
